Do not hire Joe Sinclair of BC Mobile Home Services, Alberta Mobile Home Services, or Joe with Classic Towing in Kelowna (or whatever company he is going under now), to move your modular or trailer. We, also, had problems with him moving our modular. All talk and promises, but then the troubles began. Moving date delayed due to his scheduling and weather, but once underway we realized that we had made a big mistake. We had to move and haul all of the blocking ourselves, after being told that we just had to supply the truck and his “crew” would do all the lifting. That did not happen. The move started, but they had neglected to remove the chimneys, as promised they would do, and the wood stove chimney fell off the roof and was ruined. They just tossed the sooty chimney into the home onto the carpet….my brother witnessed this. Trees along the driveway were not trimmed, as he promised his “crew” would do, so the home sustained considerable roof, fascia, and trim damage and worse, structural damage to the bay window severe enough to crack the drywall inside.

Once at the new site, the home and porch were placed on temporary blocking. We assumed that the home was going to be put back together right away, but again scheduling and weather excuses, so the home was left separated over the winter. When we checked on things we realized that the chimneys were not replaced so rain and snow had entered furnace and wood heat chimneys. The damage to our furnace has not been accessed yet. We were also told that the tarping would be fine over the winter. Well, the porch was left open and it filled with snow. Luckily it was dry snow so we were able to sweep it out and tarp the porch ourselves.

After months of trying to contact him we finally hired someone else to reassemble our home. We have discovered a lot of damage that occurred due to water damage from poor and damaged tarping that we were told was fine. Fortunately, we did not pay Joe for the reassembly, but he did take money from our charge card, without our permission, for moving the porch and also charged us his transaction fees that were his business cost not ours.

A red flag right away (that I ignored) was that his cell phone was in his wife’s name and not a business account. He also used a strange contract and he gave his home address (624 san Michelle Rd, Kelowna) as his business address. I should have listened to my woman’s intuition. A big disappointment and now extra costs!! Joe seemed like a nice guy, but please do not hire him.

Joe seemed to talk the talk with how great he was & what high standards he keeps with his projects etc. However he did only part of the job, damaged some of the materials intended to be re-installed & lied about when he would show up to complete then we never saw him again. We also had to pay the trucker directly before completion rather than deal with Joe regarding payment.

We also supplied a great amount of labour in order to have the unit moved before month end deadline, Joe brought a floorlayer on a day off and his wife another day then just himself. Even though he continually mentioned "his crew".

After 1 1/2 months of email, voicemail we had to hire another contractor to set up & level the home then complete the rest ourselves. He completed about 25% of the work we paid him for.

Did not show up to finish job do not pay up front. Tries to take short cuts of everything. If you want a decent job of setting up your home your better off finding your own contractors to do each portion of the job. Though he is a jack of all trades he is master of none!
