The company goes by a few names. MD Construction is the card they hand out, CPC construction is the name that shows up when you type the cell phone he gave me in to google.
I found them on kijiji and needed some tile work done on short notice. The quote was low and Al Brown seemed like a nice enough guy. They did ceramic in my bathroom.
Before they finished I came to look and it was all brutal. I told him it would have to be re done. He agreed.
Then I started having trouble getting him to come back. He stopped answering my calls unless I used other numbers. Then he just stopped returning my calls outright. It was typical cat and mouse stuff. When I looked at the business card more closely I realized his last name wasn't on it, nor was there an address.
The grout on the floor all came up next. When we sold the house, it failed inspection. I had three more guys come look at it and they all told me that the whole job had been botched. We had to spend almost $350 getting it re grouted to finalize the sale.
They go by a few names for what seems to me to be obvious reasons, but if you hire a company called MD Construction, or are dealing with a guy named Al Brown from CPC Constuction, you are likely about to get some shoddy work that will all have to be re done.
