Terrible!!!! Maybe things have changed with this company but that wasn’t my experience. My parents hired KBB to replace their eavestroughs on the entire house. This company then sun-contracted it to another guy who came and installed. After the install it leaked from the first rainfall…consistently. The same sun-contractor worked on a house across the street privately so I pointed out the leak to him. He said he’s not taking a look at anything because Ryan from KBB hadn’t paid him yet even though he was “done”. We called KBB and Ryan said “What?? I paid that guy already”. I don’t know who did what and I didn’t really care. Ultimately Ryan should have handled the discrepancy from the beginning. If you can’t trust your subcontractor, find another one. If your client has issues with the work, call your subcontractor and handle it. This went back and forth until ultimately nothing was done and my 70+ year be old retired parents were left with a leak that started to cause damage to the house. Eventually my parents gave up and years later had them replaced. The company (D’Angelo &Sons) looked at the leak and asked who installed it. They said it was a terrible job and based on the slopes the first guy put on, it all had to be replaced. Find anybody else before you hire KBB, the kid who shovels snow on your street, your neighbours cousins friend, your cat. I promise the outcome will be better than what KBB will do. Don’t do it!!!
Had to get repairs shortly after the project was complete.
Shower tiles didn't lines up correctly - I guess he forgot to cut them?
Caulking issues around the shower - water leaked to the basement and corners of the frame, caulking was missing from the frame and stone work reveal
Caulking missing in areas of faucets
Rain head shower not installed straight - on a tilt
Floating vanity fell off the wall / no backing support installed
Door installed backwards
LR - No glue was applied to connect 2 areas of the PVC piping & dryer vent was too long and tied up resulting on issues with the dryer - wall had to be taken down
Always wanted money asap
He installed a broken wall time where he thought it would go unnoticed. Grouted the floor of my shower the wrong floor. He didn't completely wash his equipment when switching from the wall grout to the flooring grout and in spots can see the mix of colouring.
Now looking to have it redone 2 years later due to water running out of the shower base.
Another bathroom he failed to take the time to ensure a new bathtub was level. When used it doesn't fully drain of water. Grrr.
Owner Ryan Marshall left several items undone and refused to complete. A few other items were found to be deficient in the months following and once again he refused to correct the problems. Dishwasher left unconnected, hardwood floors damaged by him and his staff with scratches etc , shower floor not level preventing proper door installation. He refused to correct the deficiencies. Actually wanted me to pay him extra to fix his mistakes!
I have a 100 yr old home, that had never been updated the top floor. The project didnt go as originally planned, totally out of everyones control, but Ryan and his team did everything they could to work with what they had and still give the best results. I had no prior experience with a contractor and was very concerned with getting ripped off. I did my research and had other quotes. Ryan wasnt the "cheapest", but I didnt want cheap, I wanted the best quality for the most fair price. I ended up with much more. I cant say thank you enough, Ryan took a unsafe area (crumbling ceiling) and made it look modern with no flaws.
He is not stable with the quote. Excellent communication when he wants his money but we are still waiting for the financial statement and refund after deciding to cancel the project due to conflicts. Stay away to avoid stress and possible fraud.
Good Morning,
My apologies to my future clients.
This is a false statement, as per Trusted pros policy any client is allow to write a review no matter the case. NO matter what the outcome, I would like my future clients to understand what happened with this job.
I think this is ridiculous as this client above has requested to have a simple drywall and patio door installed in the back room of their home. After reviewing the work, I had notice the back room was addition and was a simple porch with wood railing closed in with wall paneling. After reviewing the addition. I stated to my client, the walls would have to be reframed. Also the roof line would not allow for the door to be installed as per the size of door they have order. The deck (Floor) was rotten. I request my client to get a permit for the work to be completed.
I provided my client (at the time) a new price to reframe the addition and re frame the roof to allow for the door to be installed. At that time the client was now provided two invoices to complete the work. I have sent all information via email to them. Late the night before they wanted us to start work! They confirmed they want to proceed with the work.
On arrival to start demolition, I had requested a deposit for the second invoice we provided them. At that time the clients said NO, we thought that both jobs were all together.
I replied to the client. as per the invoice you have via email. All work is stated on both. These are two separate jobs. We request deposit for all work we do.
At that time the client had requested to cancel work!
I have now sent them their deposit via Canada post to the site address, I have deducted the time spent on the project and materials purchased.
I do know feel this is a fair post by this client as they assumed both jobs where one. As most companies invoices are clear on what they would be completing for you. At the same time, we have work order forms provided to our staff. This also states the job and what is to be done. I know by past post by clients this review will be looked over by most.
