Stern Construction

I am slowly renovating my house and I decided to do my kitchen. I have been so impressed with Stephane and the work his crews did at my home in the past, he was the first company I called for a quote.

Stephane at Stern Construction managed the complete renovation of my kitchen, including identifying the best cabinetry, appliances, and layout. This reencounter reminded me of his high level of expertise in design, space utilization, and aesthetics, not to mention his professionalism and trustworthiness.

I am thrilled with my new kitchen and highly recommend him and Stern Construction, as once again he exceed all of my original expectations.

In July 2012 I used Stern Construction to renovate two of my washrooms, it was the best choice I could have made! I was so impressed with their work when I decided to redo my main floor in hardwood, there was no one else I considered using. It was the right choice, once again Stephane and his team did an amazing job and I could not be more pleased. As I continue renovating my house there is no one else I will consider. They were on time, cleaned up daily and did an amazing job on budget! I cannot recommend them highly enough!

Stephan and his crew is hands down the best team I've worked with. I have been in the retail side of the construction industry for over twenty years and have rehabbed several houses. I trusted every crew member that worked on the house without hesitation. The work done by all was done at the highest standards. And this particular case I had to leave the house before the completion and trusted that everything would and was done correctly. I don't recommend people in the construction trade lightly as there are few that I would, these are the people you want for hanging a mirror or building you house from ground up. I live in Miami know and I'm working with the guys at Stern Construction to come here and do projects instead of hiring locals because I know the work they will do.

This was the 2nd time I hired Stern Construction and without fail, I was delighted I did. Stephane and his team of experts completed both combined projects on time and within estimate. Stephane is a very good communicator and I never once wondered about the progress of the work, as he provided ample update as required.

You hope you never have to do repairs on your home. But if any further repairs surface, Stern Construction is on the speed dial. I applaud their professionalism and the pride that they take in their workmanship.

I recently (February 2013) had Stephane and his team complete a small project in a rental property of mine. It included the replacement and removal of a very old, leaking, clogged and troubled laundry sink and basin tub. Stephane and his apprentice were experts in the field and a delight to have on this project.

Given that the working conditions were not ideal. The work space being very small, cluttered and cumbersome. Stephane did an awesome job!!!. His estimated quote ($$) was very accurate and the job was completed well within his own time estimate. Which not only pleased me (Landlord) but also the Tenant as there was very minimal inconvenience (big ++).

I had full confidence in Stephane and his team as they all conducted themselves professionally, displayed expertise in their field, and offered multiple options and suggestions on what was required and how best to accomplish the repair. The reader should also recognize that Stephane completed my project on Family Day long weekend as he understood the urgency of the situation.

All in all...Great Job!!! I hope I never have reason to contact Stephane again (as this means more repairs being required) but if indeed another project sprouts up, Stephane and his team will be the first on my list to contact.

Stephane and his crew just finished our basement TV and guest room and we couldn't be happier with how the project went from start to finish. Stephane was great at listening to what we wanted, quickly grasped our style, and came up with ideas we hadn't thought of ourselves. He steered us away from a bad decision on flooring and convinced us that tiles would fit our modern look, be more enduring, keep us on budget, and accommodate our drastically uneven cement slab. He stopped by on a regular basis to make sure everything was progressing the way we wanted.

The crew, Alex and Bo, were a pleasure to have working here each day. Their skills and professionalism are top notch. They were friendly and unobtrusive, cleaning up the site at the end of each day so we could still use it in the evenings. They accommodated our schedule with everything from when to arrive in the morning, to completing the project before our deadline. By the way Bo and Alex seem to be happy doing their work, and the enthusiasm Stephane has for his company, I can sense that Stern Construction has a great, positive culture throughout. We will definitely go to them first for our next home improvement project.

Stern Construction replied to a small plumbing job I had doing a basement reno. I was so impressed I had them do the whole basement reno. I am in the retail side of constrcution selling hardwood floors Stephane and his crew are by far the best group I've ever had the plesure of doing a project with. We are now on the schedule to do the upstairs bathroom and kicthen.

A few weeks back I have posted a project on the HandyCanadian website. It pertained to a renovation project for a cold room, a small kitchen (including cabinets) and the build of a separating wall (i.e. basement from the main floor). Since this was my first ever project for which I requested help via the HandyCanadian website, I was a bit apprehensive as to what the outcome might be...However, things went extremely well. From all the contractors who responded via email to my request, Stern Construction (i.e. Stephane) was the only one to follow up with a call and confirm his interest in my project and to set up a convenient time for us to meet and go over the project. It was right then and there that I have made the decision to use Stern Construction for my project. I was impressed by Stephane's punctuality and professionalism althroughout this project. His communication was excellent as he kept me updated on a regular basis, as the project moved along. His team was also punctual, profefessional and did a wonderful job in insulating the cold room, drywall-ing it, putting tiles on the cold room floor, prepping the walls and plugs for when the kitchen cabinets would come in, and most importantly in putting up the separating wall (between basement and main floor). This task was rather challenging (stairs and railings, the requirement for an access door, etc) but Stephane's team managed to get it absolutely fantastic. Further, the team cleaned up the working area at the end of each working day. Stephane also coordinated everything regarding the kitchen cabinets from design stage to installation, without any hassle on my side. The end result (i.e. installed cabinets) is amazing given the circumstances (i.e. a rather small kitchen with access doors at each end). The quality of all work performed for this project is rather outstanding. As mentioned before, Stephane kept me informed on a regular basis as to status of the project. He also followed-up with his team both in the morning and the afternoon regarding the items to be completed for the day and the working plan for the next day. Stephane went beyond and above his duty, when he identified a potential problem with my HVAC system (since it was located in the same area where his team worked) and offered to fix it. He also provided professional and useful advice as to how I can improve the HVAC system's performance both in the winter and in the summer months. All in all, I am very pleased with the work that Stern Construction performed for my basement project: an outstanding job with which I am really happy, performed on time and most importantly, on budget! I would definitely recommend Stern Construction for any projects that you might have in and / or around the house!

I called Stern Construction to hang my large screen LCD TV on a cement wall of my new condo, I found them to be very efficient and knowledgeable. The quote was extremely reasonable and they described exactly what work would be undertaken as well as giving me suggestions on how to best to manage the set up. The work was completed exactly as they described, and they delivered a completed job to a very high standard. They were completely professional from start to finish, they were on time and cleaned up when they were finished. I would definitely recommend them without hesitation and I will use them again when the need arises.

We would like to express a sincere 'Thank You' for a job well done. We are extremely pleased with our new kitchen and bathroom! Steph & The Stern Construction team are consummate professionals, they took the time to explain the entire process and provide suggestions and feedback on design and functionality. They provided 3D renderings of our kitchen design at no additional cost which allowed us to visualize what the final product would look like. In terms of communication, Steph and his team provided us regular updates and were easy to reach, and always returned emails and phone calls. All of the guys that came in to do specialized work (ie Plumber / Electrician etc) showed pride in their work which is evident in the superior quality. We were surprised at how clean they kept their work areas and how tedious they were in masking off rooms to minimize impacts to other areas of our home. All of the construction garbage was disposed of daily without the need to have a big garbage container sit on my driveway for an extended period of time. All work was completed on time as promised. We were actually surprised that Stern construction was able to exceed our expectations, and would highly recommend them for any project.
