Hanging Plants

Would those be a good idea? And how high off the ground do they have to be? Is there any way to decorate it so that it doesn't look like a seniors' home? (sorry!) I really love hanging plants, but... I'm not old.

For my wife I built her a shelf that she could place plants on top of, and was able to hand plants from the bottom of the shelf as well. This way she could have her hanging plants, but was able to hang them somewhere other than around the door, and on the porch only. Also, at your local hardware store, or green house you can get plant hangers of different styles and heights. When I think of a senior''s home I always think of plants that are high, and in the green plastic hangers. If you add a little variety to your hangers and pots that will allow it to be more your style, and not look like a senior's home.
