Hi -
We have a 1980's house - two upstairs bathrooms are 8x6 and need new tiles, new floor, new vanity, new toilet, new fixtures.
We had someone come in, estimated in person and the quote came back at 20K, which is outside our budget. We would like to spend $6K-10K (more on the ensuite to do a walk-in shower).
Are we being unreasonable?
Yes, you're being unrealistic. Two washrooms for 6-10k? Not even close, perhaps per washroom.
I do not believe you are being unrealistic if you provide all the materials - tiles, paint, toilet, vanity, fixtures, etc.
To clarify - 5-10k per bathroom with materials.
According to recent statistics the average bathroom last year in Canada cost $18,500.00 to do a bathroom on the less expensive side nothing fancy with a qualified insured trades person will cost you a min of $10,000.00
