Can anyone answer this question?
How do I get the portion of chimney that is exposed to the elements on my roof to match the colour of the chimney that is also exposed? However it is protected as it is under the roof but also visible as it is on my deck and under my deck?
Basically there are three sections to it and I repaired the mortar and formed a new cement Cap but when I was finished I went to wash off the brick but the mortar I used has stained it white?
Such a stupid mistake I know and I knew it when the store owner was showing me the product I used to tuck point the chimney, but I trusted him and now I look like the worst chimney king in Canada!?
Please help?
Masonry supply stores will sell a detergent for this. NMD-80 works usually depending how long it has been stained. there are also different kinds of acid to remove masonry stains and what not. Most masonry supply stores and brick yards will carry it.
