Hi Contractor,
I currently have a property in downtown Barrie where the Attic is very large but not being used. It is currently only accessable via pull-down letter in second floor.
However, the Attic is Large, Tall, and already have 2 large windows on front and back, so I would like to make it into living space.
The area of 2nd floor is aproximately 900 square foot rectangular shaped, and Attic's roof is reverse V shaped, with highest point ~10-11foot from ground.
I would like to have a staircase built going from 2nd floor to attic, a bathroom on the attic, and 1-2 bedrooms on the attic.
Please let me know what the estimate would be. Thanks.
Good day, we own a home in barrie and would like to have a basement doorway put in, it will have to be dug out footings and tile bed plus stairs and poured cement and water proof to the house my budget can be more the 5000 I am putting in a 30 inch door so the wall will have to be cut as well. We cant get a big hoe in so it will all have to be done with smaller equipment.
Thank you,
Bruce
Hello, I have moisture problems in my basement that have resulted in some mold. I believe the moisture is coming from sweating galvanized piping and possibly leaks from the foundation & old basement windows.
My house has a small basement with poured floor (approx 400sf) the rest is sandy crawlspace. (the moisture problem is in the poured floor section)
I plan on moving everything out of the basement so that the mold can be cleaned, plumbing done. (and whatever is necessary....windows replaced, caulked etc.....)

I'm looking for a quote to add a separate entrance to my basement, incl permit and drawings.
There's a bathroom with a window in my house above ground that I want to relocate and make an entrance instead of the window - photo attached.
Please let me know how much appr the permit would cost and the work itself.
I would like to open up one of the wall in the storage room and put up the dry walls. Currently the storage area is insulated but need to put up the drywalls and bedroom entrance door.
The length of the storage is 20 feet and width is 5ft.
I have attached the video and pictures.
From the picture the long yellow line is where I want to break and small yellow line is where I would like to put the entrance door to the bedroom.
Thank you.

Hello,
My husband and I are wanting to know what the cost would be to create a mudroom. We have a concrete and brick porch we'd like to close in with functional windows. We would explore options of adding heat to the room, but are open to having it without heat.
Another project, we are considering adding a 2nd level to the front of our back split - creating a stairwell and a master suite with ensuite.
Please contact me. (I do Barrie but # is old Vancouver #)
Replacing old ceramic tile in foyer with new cobblestone and that will be extended into kitchen and powder room. Powder room will have new finishes including vanity, mirror and toilet.
Subsequent projects to follow include: granite kitchen counter top, and new sink install. Garage doors and garage side window. Removal of sliding door entrance way.
Hi, My name is Jef C. and I am a mortgage agent here in Barrie. I am working on promoting purchase plus improvements mortgages and I require a contractor that can give me a quote on making improvements to homes that are for sale. Potential buyers would then have the information they need to buy a house that needed work such as an updated kitchen or bathroom and I would offer them a "purchase plus improvements" mortgage that allowed them to finance the improvements as part of the mortgage. The lawyer just holds your money in escrow until the job is completed.
Purchase plus improvements mortgages are readily available from many lenders but are not frequently chosen because of the added time required to get a quote from a contractor to do the needed work. Since most real estate deals leave only 5 days to fulfill conditions, there just isn't time for most buyers to find a contractor and arrange to get a quote. If there were even a rough quote in place already, I think a good number of people would be interested to know that by adding as little as $20 a month to the mortgage for every $5,000 in renovations that a house can easily be transformed in to a dream home right away. I wish I had known about this many years ago, I could have saved myself a lot of aggravation!
If you would like to be on my list of contractors who would like to offer quotes on jobs in this regard, please email me. If you or someone you know needs a mortgage, I also offer generous finders fees as well as bumping referring contractors higher up on my list of people to call.
Thanks,
Jef
Hello,
I currently own a building that is well suited to become a registered Duplex within the City of Barrie.
I am seeking a general contractor to manage this project (i.e. work with the City, obtain proper permits, hire trades, etc...).
If you have experience in converting buildings into registered duplexes, I'd like to hear from you.
Hi,
I have a building with two units already created (i.e. walls, bathroom and kitchen are all there). I'm looking for a general contractor to work through the process of making it legal. Likely some work would be subcontracted out, but in general terms, I would need drawings to satisfy the city, drywall, ceilings, doors, would need fire protection added, etc... If interested in such a project, email me or give me a call.
Thanks,
Marc
-Demolish closet wall in main bedroom - See attached floor plan for wall circled
-Make opening in drywall to add a new sliding door leading from master bedroom to small bedroom. See attached floor plan for area.
-Demolish small wall near kitchen, relocate light switch. - See attached floor plan for wall circled
-Patch drywall after wall removed
I am considering changing a double garage into an art studio - no plumbing required, just making it airtight, insulating, drywalling etc. possibly creating a window/skylight and changing the rear opening to the garage to either double doors or a glass/plexiglass type garage door but leaving the front garage doors as they are if possible. I am in north east Barrie near Johnson's Beach area.It is a solid two door garage with also a back door, poured concrete floor and has same level entry to the main floor of the house. Project is somewhat fluid with cost and design ideas looking to find balance. Budget for this is limited despite the indicated range below. Structural integrity is prime concern - my last job through Trusted Pros was not a success so I will be screening applying contractors quite carefully. I should ad, there are 2 other projects to come, a continuation of a deck to wrap around the house, and finishing part of an unfinished basement to be set up for working out. Also adding two built in closets in a bedroom that currently has none. I'm hoping to find someone who can, over the next year or so help me with these projects once I find the right contractor.
Thanks for looking at my job. Hope the right company is out there!
Remove entry hall closet, will be replaced with cabinet and bench.
*ALSO, remove Florida lighting in kitchen and add pot lights*
-removal of 2 walls (71” and 29”)
-patch drywall ceiling, Match popcorn or remove
-remove and replace floor tile (approx 6 12x24” tiles as they do not connect from inside closet to hall because of wall)
-move 3 way light switch (it is at the end of the series)
-move wired smoke detector wire (it is at the end of a series)
-install pot lights (convert 2 ceiling lights to pot lights, and add 1 new pot light)
We have quotes for the cabinet and bench already from some cabinet makers.
I require the outside basement entrance to be framed in from the elements.
It's approximately 3 feet by 5 feet by 7 feet high.
It will be wood frame construction with siding, window and exterior door. Shingles provided.
Needs to be completed within the next 2 weeks.
Pictures can be found on the two linksclick here you,
Monique
I had a beautiful vine growing up the side of my house which got up and under the base of the siding and caused it to buckle......it had travelled up quite high...... It ruined the tywrap and drywall and mice are getting in. We have removed the vine and need this repaired ASAP . I also need the other side looked at because one area in my house the floor is freezing and actually gets frost up against the wall..... My house is only 15 years old.
Thank-you.
I also would like a quote on an extension.
The stairway area from main floor to basement is drywalled, but unfinished. It needs to be finished, and the door from the main floor needs to be moved to the basement. The work that I would assume needs to be done: some drywalling, painting, finish stairs, frame a door at the bottom of the stairs leading to the basement.
I am looking to get quotes on tiling a bathroom in granite about 40 square feet, facing a fireplace in stone from floor to ceiling with a mantel and also, building and staining a removable wood enclosure for a corner soaker tub to match the vanity. We are considering selling and relocating. We would like this to be done as soon as possible.
Thanks
Patty
This job is only available to carpenters/handymen in Barrie or 10 km outside of Barrie.
Create 'interior' walls, U shape configuration for a trade show booth;
This needs to be stable without fastening to anything (i.e. screwed to floor or outside wall).
the booth is 8' x 8' - there will be 3x (8' x 8') sides to the booth;
I envision using 8' x 4' drywall mounted landscape using no mud on the seams - instead chair rails/trim to cover;
in corners some type of corner molding;
NOTE:
- no cutting in the trade show hall;
- cutting and preparation can be made in your shop on feb 28 (thurs) or before 10am March 1st;
- assembly must be March 1st between 12p & 2pm;
If you are available for this - pls call or email with an idea of cost and your ability to suit our time lines.
Thanks
