House was built in 2005 by Jayman MB model Altair 1. The basement is 28' x 36' (clear dimension from wall to wall foundation). Consists of 2 standard size windows and with rough-in plumbing. We want to have 2 bedrooms, 1 washroom, a small kitchen, and a family/living room. We want to move washer/dryer from the main floor to the basement. Materials are basic : carpet and lino for floor, kitchen top will be laminate only, ceiling is standard popcorm. Wall sare painted to match the main floor. FYI, no renovations has ever been done on the house.
Please email me a very reasonable quote with good attention to budget and let me know your time table for the project.
Thanks.

Hi,
I am looking for help with my basement reno.
Currently the basement is unfinished, has 540sf with 8 ft height. It has a (small) window but I would like to add another one (if possible). In terms of division, I am looking to split the space in 3 different areas: bathroom, kitchenette (with some open space as well), and 1 room.
Also, I would like to have the proper permits required obtained as well.
Thanks,
Gabriel
We have a basement that is currently finished but we want to have it "gutted" and re-done. Will include bedroom, mechanical room, bathroom and recreation room. Approx. 1100 sq. ft. Will include framing, insulation if needed, drywall walls and ceiling, plumbing for 3 pc. bath with tiled shower, carpet in bedroom and rec. room.
1967 Bungalow - 1300 Square Feet
(House is currently vacant)
Complete Basement Development; 1 or 2 bedrooms; living area; bathroom; wet bar; laundry room; 2 egress windows - other windows must be replaced; Current basement must be gutted to start;
Main Floor; New Kitchen; new floors; paint; new windows; remodel bathrooms 1/2 bath and 1 full bath;
All Contractors who are interested in this project must be bonded and insured; must be committed to finishing this project in the agreed to timeframe; must be able to accept 50% down and 50% upon completion (this can be discussed further); must be a licensed contractor with the Province of Alberta.
Our home is 43 years old. The basement is partially developed, but not efficiently or well. The original furnance is located in the centre of the basement, which is an inefficient use of space. If possible we would like to relocate it and put in an energy efficient furnance. We would also like a bathroom/shower/laundry room area, a bedroom/office and entertainment room. We would like new larger windows cut into the concrete to allow for more natural light. Whoever did the reno 20+ years ago was a do-it-yourselfer on the electrical, if you iron, while watching tv with the dryer and one light on, the electrical blows a breaker. We would like to maximise our downstairs living space to allow for growing teenagers. We also have a home based office which we would like to "perk" up.
Thanks so much.
Melinda
I am finishing my basement, and want to contract out the remainder. So far the bathroom is complete, it just needs some taping, sanding on the dry wall. All the other drywall is up and the majority of the framing is up. The space is about 430 sq feet. I would need ceiling done, drywall finishing, home theatre set up for 7.1 surround, tv mount installed. I am available for appointments in the evenings after 6 during weekdays and afternoons on weekends.
Home built 1956, we did an addition in 2001. The basement renovation is for the older development. The basement is completely developed but needs updating and flow. I would like to open up the family room and spare room, expand the bathroom and upgrade with tub, new toilet and vanity. The family room would involve, removal of panelling, upgrade insulation and then drywall and paint. Also to get to one level overall, remove subfloor and reinstall the carpetting. Upgrade clothes closet in spare bedroom. Approx square footage 500 sq ft.
Part 2 is painting window sills interior (all interior) and exterior (5 windows, not all) in addition, kitchen and bathrooms' (2) cabinetry.

I am a real estate agent with an accepted offer on this property BUT there is significant deterioration in the basement and some cracking. The seller and buyer have agreed to have this issue resolved and we need to get a cost for this. Obviously, the issue of cost is time sensitive and I am wondering how soon you may have an sales rep available.
Thank you for your time ;
Matt
I have an existing development basement, but it is time to start to open it up from the previous owners. Here is what I require:
- Frame and Complete Wall 1 - it is along the furnace and pretty straight forward about 5 feet long
- Frame and Complete Wall 2 - it is along back wall and will have closet louvered doors to cover washer and dryer.
- Frame and Complete Wall 3 - Bathroom has 2 entrances, would like one to be framed in and completed
- Remove a pony wall understairs and install a simple built in to put window pillows on for a kids reading lounge.
- Extend door opening on Wall 4 - This wall is to the bedroom and I would like to open up the door way to about double the size
- Insert Frame and install 2 24" french doors
- Frame and Complete uncessary open area in stair well. about 3 x 4.
- Finish and complete electrical in walls.
We have a finished basement from previous owner with 2 bedrooms, 1 den and 3 pcs bathroom in our new house, built in 2013. Our goal is to convert the basement into a secondary suit with separate entrance. Here is what we'll need:
1. Add Washer and Dryer in existing basement washroom. There is plenty of room, but need a quote to connect everything properly: water, electricity and exhaust.
2. Convert Den into a mini kitchen. This den has no windows. We'll need to add a kitchen hood to put a stove top along with a fridge.
3. We need to make a separate entrance to the basement.
If you have the expertise in only one thing from the list above, that's fine. Come over to estimate and send us a quote. Pictures will be sent if needed.
Would like to be contacted for estimates on a job for next year. Major work is for front main addition ~10`x36' extension; includes extension to living room, porch (foyer) and bedroom to drywall finish interior and hardy panel w/stone exterior. Existing living room; partial removal of ceiling. Basement addition; ~5' x 36' feet sunken patio off basement with retaining walls ~, includes one new bathroom rough in, one new washer/dryer rought in, separate entrance with door and drain, 1 new furnace and ducting or other heating means, 1 new gas fireplace, patio doors, ~3windows, subpanel. Existing basement; removal of basement wall between existing and supported by undermount engineer beam and 1 column. Removal of existing concrete basement floor and underpin walls (~300 sq ft.). Replace sewer line to edge of property and to be coordinated with the city. Add kitchen sink rough in. Sound proof ceiling with 2'x2' tile. Meets city secondary suite codes. Complete to drywall state. Drawings for building permit will need to be accompanied by Engineer Drawings for the Engineered beam, column(s), floor joists and roof trusses.
Drawings have been submitted for the development permit with the city of Calgary. The public notice has been completed.
We would like to move one telescopic post in our basement to make room for our pool table. I have heard this will most likely involve a steel i-beam, and that sounds expensive. I'm curious as to what a simple a relatively inexpensive way of tackling this job would be. Any help in this matter would be appreciated.
Thank you.
Jesse

I would like you to give me an estimate for the renovations listed below before I can show you the house starting August 3rd when it is accessible to me. For the basement, it is about 650 ft2 but the area to develop is only 500 ft2, this is a basic development, we need to add one 12 wall, two 3' wall sections, add 1 door, 2 sets of closet doors, drywall the walls and ceiling, install laminate or carpeting (TBD) on the floor, add baseboards, install 3 ceiling light fixtures (electrical already existing). I look forward to hearing from you.
Thanks!

This project can be started immediately. Our current contractor is experiencing conflicts and causing us delays. Renovation is in inner city townhouse condo built ca 1989.
The project is to renovate a bathroom (room size approx 8-9 ft x 5 ft). The existing tub/shower will be torn out and converted to a shower only occupying the same footprint. We have ordered from a local bathroom shop and received notice to pickup all the bathroom fixtures. New vanity and new medicine cabinet are already on site in storage. We are looking for experienced contractor to take out the old bathroom fixtures, upgrade the bathroom with certain enhancements and install the fixtures, medicine cabinet and vanity that we ordered.
We've ordered following which are waiting at a local bathroom outfitter to be picked up by our contractor:
-shower stall base 32" x 60" - one piece, drain right side, shelf right side, seat left side
-sliding shower doors (2) - 6mm glass silver/clear 75" high
-Auto 1000 Integrated Shower Thermostat Trim
-Auto 1000 Integrated Shower Thermostat R.I. Valve
-Movario Shower Set
-Wall union
-Toto undermount sink
-Unsanded Prism Grout
-Unsanded Mapei Grout - 10# Universal Slate

-Mirror 48" x 42" with 1/2" bevel
We've ordered the following which are waiting at a tile store to be picked up by our contractor:
-Wall tiles to enclose shower area, white gloss 4"x16" 84 sq ft
-Floor tiles - Ceratek Tureks Alea Ivory Antiqued (commonly called travertine) - 20 pcs
We've ordered the following which are on site in storage in our underground parking garage awaiting start of the renovation:
-Vanity 47" x 21" x 32" Maple #828 Stain - three piece construction - two banks of drawers on either side of center cabinet which will hold sink
-Medicine cabinet 13 1/2" x 30" x 5" w/mirror 1/2" bevel Maple 828
-light fixture above 48x42 mirror
We plan to order following once vanity is installed:
-appropriate travertine vanity countertop to match floor tiles
We will reuse the following that are currently part of existing bathroom:

-faucet and taps for sink (less than one year old)
We will use the following until we receive the new travertine vanity countertop:
-old vanity countertop
-current sink (drop in, not under mount)
The following items will be removed permanently before renovation proceeds. Contractor is responsible for hauling away unwanted items to local landfill:
-existing tub and faucet/shower configuration
-all tiles surrounding tub/shower installation
-existing vanity
-existing medicine cabinet
-existing mirror 48x42
-existing light fixture above existing mirror
-existing floor
-existing floorboards
-existing door and doorframe
-existing vent cover
-existing exhaust fan
The following upgrades are required before new bathroom fixtures, etc are installed. These are to be provided by contractor as part of bid:

-new towel rack
-new toilet roll dispenser
-new duct cover
-transition piece tieing bathroom floor to adjoining hallway
-install under mount sink when new vanity countertop arrives - estimate is 3 to 4 weeks to manufacture after vanity is installed - template can only be measured for vanity countertop after vanity is in place
-paint appropriate surfaces with color and paint chosen by home owner
-paint and painting supplies
Contractor must visit site to confirm that all items mentioned above will be sufficient to complete renovation.
Contractor must provide at least three, and preferably more, references demonstrating competency, honesty and integrity. Contractor supplies all tools, removes all garbage, and uses smallest footprint if table saw is needed. There is no space in near vicinity of bathroom renovation (located on second floor of condo unit) to store items such as existing toilet, new vanity, new medicine cabinet, all items still at bathroom shop and other items required to complete renovation. Closest storage is underground parking structure (under main floor of condo unit). Certain work procedures such as table saw cutting might need to be done outside front door of condo unit (at same level as main floor) or on patio area (at same level as main floor) at back of condo unit or in underground garage area or off site (under main level of condo unit).
Contractor must complete job in shortest time frame possible after commencement of work - this includes willingness to work weekends and possible early evenings. We do not want to deal with someone that plans to "squeeze" our project into their already busy schedule. We will not tolerate extended absences from work site. We are to be the focus until the job is complete. Proper quotation required - signed by principal, good for 30 days minimum, we prefer that contractor supply us with his street address, phone
Hi,
We live in a 1959 bi-level split house in the Westgate community. It is approximately 1100 sqft. We are looking to do some modifications to the two lower levels. There is a ground level floor that walks out to the back yard that currently has a rec room and a bedroom. We would like to open this space removing walls and designing a play room with lots of storage and a small area where we can have exercise equipment. The lower basement (below ground) is where the big work would be. We would like to take the partially finished basement and create a bathroom (shower is already plumbed in and resides in the laundry room) and a guest bedroom to replace the existing room we would be taking away. We would also like to keep a space for the laundry and the pantry for food storage.
The windows in the basement would need to be redone and the window for the bedroom would need to be enlarged. The upper of the two levels has one window that needs to be redone and the other has already been upgraded.
The electrical panel has one slot open and so we would need a new panel to be installed to accomodate the renovation.
I know this is a lot of detail for an initial inquiry but we would like to find out if your company can do the structural work as well as the remodelling of our two spaces. We are interested in a ball park figure on the cost and timing on when you are available. We are aiming to do this renovation over the summer months (the sooner the better really).
Thanks for your time and let me know what you can come up with from this information.
Feel free to contact me if you have additional questions.
Sarah
