Hello,
We have bought a new house in Southeast Calgary. We'd like to completly renovate the ensuite bathroom. Posession is scheduled for mid - June, which is when we would like to arrange for the renovation to take place. Some details on the project:
The total bathroom area is approx. 7' X 5', with the door at one end. Currently, there is a standard size bathtub in the space. We would like to remove the bathtub and put a shower stall in the space. The long wall of the tub also includes a small exterior window. Ideally, we would like to install a steam shower in this bathroom.
I would anticipate tile on the shower and floor, with a glass door/ wall in the shower.
The bathroom does not currently have any vent fan, which I have been advised should be installed in conjunction with a steam shower, so this would also be required
I realize the cost would be largely dependent on the costs of materials, particularly the components for the steam shower, so any opinions on the range of options on these items would be appreciated.
I'd be interested to know approx. what this renovation might cost, what additional challenges a steam shower represents over a regular shower, and any other items to keep in mind.
Thanks
Brian
We are moving into a home with 4 bedrooms up and want to turn one of the bedrooms into an ensuite adjoining the master bedroom. The other side of the planned ensuite is adjacent to the existing bathroom so to make plumbing changes minimal? Depending on cost of the ensuite we try to add in a walk in closet and closet for a stacking washer and dryer.
Tks very much.

We would like to renovate our en suite.
It currently has a small shower, 5' soaker tub and twin 80" vanity with toilet.
We would like to remove the soaker tub and replace it with a walk in glass shower with tiled walls and put a washer dryer unit where the shower is currently located. There is a large window which we would like to replace with glass blocks. The vanity will need to be either renovated or replaced as well.
We are also considering replacing the current tiles with more modern ones.
Remove existing vinyl shower& expand the area of the shower, tile walls and ceiling of the shower area, install plumbing to existing drain & add new shower head at a higher elevation and off set from the current shower head location, & install the new shower door purchased by home owner. In addition we would like to replace the 2 sink vanity in the ensuite with a new vanity make up center combination & add some tile around the jacuzzi tub. Lastly we would like to replace the backsplash in the kitchen.
We are available for an on site visit after April 30th and would like to have the work completed by May 21.
The site will be vacant during the work. The shower dimensions are going to be roughly 46" x 46" with an 8' ceiling. The vanity is currently roughly 77.5" long by 22.5" wide. The backsplash will require roughly 24 tiles. These dimensions are from memory and will be confirmed by a site visit.
I have a 5' x 30" stand up shower stall that needs to be gutted and retiled. There is a 30" opening with a hinged door for entry to the shower.
It feels like there is a mortar base and the tile goes floor to ceiling and I would prefer to keep it that way. The shower valve will also require replacing.
The house was built in 1979 and this is an upstairs bathroom.
Old 1912 bunaglow. Has a small bathroom next to open staircase leading to basement. Would like to use some of that space to open wall and expand over the staircase to make more floor space in bathroom. Tile floor, add shower or bath shower if room. Need to do on a budget as if I sell house ever it will be torn down for a infill.

The house was built in 2001 (Shane Homes), and both the guest bathroom and master ensuite are very small. As a result my partner and I split the bathrooms between us - I drew the short straw and got the smaller guest bath. The bathroom is 5'x7' and currently has a 26" vanity. This is a problem as being the female it is nowhere near big enough for me (a 36" would do).
We are looking to totally gut the bathroom. If possible we would like to expand the bathroom to fit a larger vanity (expanding into the bonus room on the second floor above the garage.
We also have a leak somewhere under the bathtub, and need to have that addressed as well as fixing the ceiling below on the main floor. We would like to keep a bathtub in this bathroom.
We would like to upgrade the bathroom quite a bit from the builder basic that it is. We do have a friend who does interior design professionally and will be consulting her on finishes etc.
We are willing to do the demo ourselves.
If you have any questions please let me know!

Hi
I have bought a house and I am looking for a free estimate on getting the kitchen re done and bathroom as it is very dated.. I can't get into the house but I can send pictures to get an approximate cost from someone.
Looking to get new cabinets and counter tops for the kitchen and bathroom needs new sink, tub and toilet.
I need this free estimate on your letter head so I can provide to the bank, quote needed within the next 2 days.
Thank you
I'm looking for a quote for some work that needs done around our house... primarily work in our unfinished kitchen renovation, as well as I would like our bathroom updated.
Kitchen: baseboards, paint, kickplates, stove fan, backsplash, and shelfs.
Bathroom: tile, new countertop, lights, paint.
We have an older house, and have tested positive, in small percentage, for asbestos in the drywall mud. So based on this, I'm not certain what can be done in the bathroom other than tiles.
Misc things around the house include a small hole in the drywall, and baseboards in the living room, and some baseboard work on our stairs.
We have a home that was built in 1965, that we own currently, and that we are moving into it September 1st, it will be vacant until then. We would like to renovate one of the bathrooms and the kitchen immediately. The kitchen is aproximately 200 sq'. If possible, we would like remove a wall, and build an island. Some cabinets would also need to be moved. The bathroom needs new tile, and the installation of a new tub, toilet and vanity. It is aproximately 100 sq'. There is additional work that we are interested in having completed over the next 18 months, however the bathroom and kitchen are the immediate priority. If I can provide any other details to help, and to allow to quote, please let me know.
Thank you,
Spence
Would like to create an open concept kitchen, where the existing plan sits between to parallel walls. This would involve knocking out a wall and designing a new cabinet/ pantry plan. Possibly add a box window infront of sink. new sink.
We would like the downstairs bathroom to be extended by taking out a shared wall with an existing cellar. Cabinetry, and vanity, and shower required.
Upstairs bathroom requires new tile flooring/ bathtub. Possibly add a his AND hers sink on existing vanity, if not remodel entire plan.
