Hi there, I'm looking to get a large built in bookcase along a wall in my front room. I think it's a fairly straight forward design - I can send you a mock up I had done. I'm looking to have white shelves with a wooden ladder (ladder can be rustic/old/used) with applicable 'rolling' hardware - the bottom row of shelving would be cabinet space. The wall is exactly 185 inches wide and it's a cathedral ceiling so 97 inches at one end and 144 inches at the other (the bookshelf would run along a slanted ceiling). I can send a mock up, pictures from Houzz and more info - I'm happy to communicate via email until we can nail down an approximate price range. (With the understanding that an in-person estimate will be needed to move forward.) Just don't want to waste anyone's time. Thanks in advance for your interest in my project!
I am looking for a quote for a canted bay window bench seat. The dimensions are 1'10" x 3' x 5'8" x 3' X 1'10". height would be 18" and a consistent depth of 16".
Painted wood would be sufficient, stained wood is not necessary.
Thank you for your time,
Thought need new doors but doors are fine its the door fame that is not level. Had one carpenter, he shimmed charged 400 left and was still not shutting. Need a carpenter to relevel my door frame so no air or noise comes in. Both main floor exterior door frames need done.
Also would like a quote on cementing both sides of house. grade is sloped. one side is grass other side is concrete side walk slabs. lenght would be length of house and wide as lot border to house approx 5ft.
We are looking at building a playhouse for our children in our backyard. None of the pre-made ones we see at stores or online have what we are looking for. We would like it to be at least 6 feet by 6 feet inside. It would be one level with perhaps a small loft if possible. A small porch out front would also be preferred. We would like it to have a roof that is flat and can be walked on by the children (with a railing around the top). As far as finishing materials, we do not expect it to be very fancy but something that is durable and safe.
I'm looking to have a custom craft closet and standing computer workstation created. I like it to be built out of wood (not the wire framed shelves).
Closet is 8 feet high, 6 feet long and about 2 feet wide. Design would involve, two long shelves up top for storage, one long shelve for workstation to hold sewing machine. It could include more accessories, hooks, holders, drawers, etc. but those are not a for sure yet.

I am looking to build a covered pergola on top of an existing 10x12 deck and have a couple of pictures attached to give a general idea of what we are looking for. Posts could go through the existing deck, or could be right on the sides and go right into the ground.
Material should be cedar, and roofing should be either basic shingle or corrugated steel depending on pricing difference. Craftsmanship and exposed joinery for extra points :-)

1) refinish stairway spindles and railings, with Wainscotting also. Add Oak Treads also.
2) could assist with bulding 4 season sunroom
3) install sliding doors in front entrance closet
4) closet organiser
You can provide quotes or instead work by the hour.
I am unclear:
1) do you work alone?
2) will you work by the hour?
3) what is your availability?
I was hoping to get an estimate to extended our current front porch out a few feet, and have stairs run the length of the front. We would also like to find out the cost of upgrading to composite. The approximate final dimensions would be about 9' wide by 8' deep, including the 2 steps along the front.
I would like to get a quote for a number of projects in our house, including:
New steps and railing to sunken living room
New sill and tiling on French doors
New Crown moulding and casing around kitchen cupboards
Painting of 8 interior doors (new)
Final coat painting of casing & baseboards
Painting of bathroom
Probably a few more items once we do the walk around
We'd like to have all of the above items done as soon as possible, and separately we'd like a quote on the basement development as well.
I have 2 walls that are hip high. One is about 2 feet long at the front entrance. The other separates the bathroom to the living room. It is about 2.5 feet long. Both are needing to be finished with some crown moulding and flat top instead of the painted drywall. How much to cap the walls?
I also need my house painted. 1475 sq feet. 2 stories.
Door hinges removed from steel door frame used previously for saloon doors and made to look good once hinges removed; under a marble counter top, the support looks unsightly - need to improve this; hanging mirrored closet doors need to be have track attached to the floor after tiling (height change created by tiling may be an issue??); likely a few other finishing/painting issues uncovered with a trained eye.
NOTE: I CAN PROVIDE FREE UNLIMITED PARKING
Completing a renovation. Places has been gutted, re-framed and drywalled. Have ordered baseboard, casings and doors. Jambs are mitered and essentially pre-hung but jambs do need to be re-assembled.
In total 5 single doors and 3 closet, (double doors) and all casings. An additional 3 windows to be cased. approximately an additional 80 linear ft of casing. approximately 170 linear feet of baseboards to be installed, including closets.
Work to be completed by July 13th,
Hi, our Lake Bonavista bungalow has almost been completely renovated. All we have left are the stairs, some minor tiling (between the stairs), and some detailing such as putting handles on 9 sliding doors, doing a door frame, installing shelves inside the broom cupboard, fixing a few issues with some floor boards. I've been told I should be looking for a finishing carpenter but I don't see that trade on the web site?
We are looking for someone to build fireplace mantle so that we can put heavy TV and some decoration items on it. 18 inches deep 8 ft long. 6 to 8 inch wide. On each side of fireplace we need one shelve to look pretty.
Plz see pictures. Our is one without mantle and rest of 2 are kind a design idea. If you have some more creative options let us know.
I do have wood garage stairs in my garage. It is a 5 step stairs with landing. The only issue I have is, as my garage is small I cannot fit my car in it and close the garage door. The stair is sideways and is 49 inches wide (including the handrails). I would like to have a narrower stair, maximum 36 inches wide or maybe even less. I think the code says minimum 860mm(around 34 inches) width for stairs. 34 inches wide would make enough room to fit my car and still match the width of the door from the garage to the house.
So, I would like to have a quote for two scenarios:
1. A quote to reduce the width of the existing wood stair from 49 to 34 inches. I'm not sure if it is feasible to cut the stair and reattach one of the laterals and rails. I can provide pictures latter.
2. A quote to build a new 34 inches wide wood stair with 5 steps and landing and rails.
I have approxiametly 300 linear feet of trim and baseboard that needs to be installed.
I am willing to pay flat rate, or hourly, or by foot.
Most of the old trim has been removed, and the new trim is at the house now. I am willing to pay 1/3 upon arrival..1/3 when 1/2 done and the rest when complete.
I will pay by instant email transfer. I will need a free estimate, and will need the estimate and agreement in writing.
If all goes well with trim, and the cost is reasonable....then I have a ton of other work in this home of all types to do...aside from the top floors baseboards and trim...there are doors to install...gate to fix...basement to update...etc...etc.
I need to get a rental property painted both upstairs and down in a Inlaw suite, I need to have a tilesetter to lay tile on the floors as well in the one bathroom tub and shower area, I need to get someone to lay laminate flooring both upstairs and down, I need to have the window caseing replaced as well as base boards. I did have a Contractor that said he had a crew to do all of the above. Long story short he wanted funds up front and I was going to supply materials which I have already purchased the materials but the contactor is nolonger around to do the job. I am a 61 year old woman and my husband has Parkinsons so he is not able to work or to help me with this renovation. We have this rental property to help bring in income as his medicine is expensive. If there is any one out there that can help me put this property right at a reasonable price I would appreciate it if you call me. I do have a budget I can borrow from a line of credit I have a limit of $5000.00 as I have already lost a big chunk of cash and can not get it back.
I have a finished basement which has never had the baseboards installed. The total square footage is about 550. I need the baseboards installed in the basement. I also have a few heat outlets that do not have a cover installed. If the same person could do that I would love it. I also have a few speakers for a surround sound system I need installed. The wiring has been installed and just requires mounting the speaker and connecting to the wiring. I know electrical is a little different beast so if you can only do the baseboards and vents that is fine but if you can do it all that would be brilliant.
