I have an undeveloped basement in my Townhouse in Inglewood. I want to install a hangin ceiling (T-bar ceiling?) in the room. My intent is to use the room as a media room. Dimenstions are approx. 23' ' x 23'. Currently there is only exposed floor joists and heating ducts up there. The building was built in 1993. I'm looking to have this work done immeditely. At this point, I'm expecting panels that are 2' x 2' to make up the ceiling, and prefer a dark colour (grey/black). Please let me know if that is workable too. I check e-mail daily, and look forward to seeing responses. Let me know if you need furter details to make up a quote for me!
Talk soon.

I am looking for quote to convert a ceiling from the original (never painted) stucco ceiling to a knock down ceiling.
I am looking to have it done the week of July 21 - 24 as the home will be empty.
1265 sq ft villa style bungalow with a loft so vaulted ceiling in the living and bedroom area
Install cardboard to laminate floors.
Bag & scrape existing texture.
Apply knockdown.
Apply oil base.
Scaffold.
General trade clean up.
All lights will be replaced so would like all fixtures dropped or removed so the entire ceiling can be done with no marks from old fixtures. If need be I can have them all removed before you begin. Hope that makes sense.
I require part of a ceiling where a wall was removed to be refinished. That is, the ceiling needs to be re-painted, with popcorn finish to match the rest of the ceiling in the room. It may be necessary to lightly scrape the existing unsatisfactory finish first, but if necessary we can do this ourselves, if preferred.
Time is of the essence with this job, and ability to match the existing finish.
Hi,
I am looking for some help giving the old ceiling some new life.
There is about 880 Sq ft of ceiling that is white and has random holes spread throughout as shown in the pic. Searching for good suggestions to renovate the entire ceiling.
This renovation is time sensitive and should be finished in a day or two towards the start of the first week of April.
Looking for minimum of 5 years of experience who can provide accurate estimates, solve problems and give suggestions.
Hi there, we've got an emergency repair to do on our main floor living room popcorn ceiling.
There's an old stain and a bit of splitting from an old leak (it's dry). About a 4x3 area max.
Ideally I'd like it re-textured and paint matched the closest we can, as we're selling the house. We're in the Montreux area of Calgary, 85th St. and 17th Ave. SW.
If we can avoid having to re-paint the whole ceiling, that would be preferred. I realize it's impossible to get an exact match, but we need something done quickly so we can sell the house.
Thanks,
-Stu
We have a suspended drywall ceiling in our condo that was originally installed in 1980. The existing framework between our ceiling and the unit above consists of a 5" concrete slab, q-deck and 2ft high steel trusses with the 3/4" fire rated drywall suspended by hangers. 2 years ago we had our home completely renovated and the contractor added 1/2" drywall over the existing 3/4" fireproof to even out some of the sags in the ceiling. Currently we believe the extra weight of the new drywall has caused the hangers to stretch out and subsequently our ceiling has cracked along a few of the joints.
We require a drywaller or mudder who can repair the damage and assist us in locating a painter. The ceiling is flat, not stippled and our preference is to maintain the 'clean' look. The damaged ceiling area is roughly 20ft x 10ft, but for painting the continuous ceiling area is approximately 1200 sqft .
Please contact us to view the project.
Water damage to my ceiling resulting in having to cut out about 4' x 2' of drywall. Will need this hole repaired and the ceiling of the room re-textured (knock-down finish). Room is approximately 10' x 10'.
Would hope to have the work done within a week if possible and hope to keep price $1000 or less. Had bad luck with scheduling with my original contractor choice - too many delays. Hope for someone who can follow through with a good job in promised time.
Hi there, I had a plumbing leak that has now since been fixed. However they have left a large hole in the ceiling from the investigation of the leak. It is about 4ft x 3ft. The ceiling has knock down texturing. I have a short timeline, I need to have this repaired and complete in the next week to ten days max. I am looking for a courteous professional that can provide quality service.
My condo is approx. 500 sq.ft. and the building was built in the early 1980s. Two issues- impact and airborne noise. The floor above me is creaking very loudly upon my neighbour's every step and has become intolerable. He will be replacing his flooring soon and will try to lessen the noise by nailing down the subfloor and installing a good underlay. The subfloor is covered in a concrete-like moisture barrier though so I am doubtful he will be able to access the subfloor easily and therefore not fix the creaking much. Also would like some soundproofing for general footfall noise and music, etc. I believe I may need to tear out my ceiling and address the problems on my end. Basically I want someone to come in and explain/quote what they could do to address these problems if i were to tear out my ceiling: fix the creaks and soundproof the footfall and airborne noise.
The ceiling in my dining room has a small crack in it which has recently grown a little bit larger.
The initial crack splits into three direction - with two short arms (5 or 6 inches long) and a large arm that runs about 10 inches in length before diminishing in both size and severity. All told, the longest arm runs for 21 inches.
See pictures for details.
This is a 1980 house. The rest of the ceiling is in good shape but there are two nearby patches from previous cracks. Long ago there was water damage, this is the end result, years after the leakage was corrected.
We're looking for someone to install 2x2 drop ceiling tiles where 2x4 tiles currently are - in 2 bathrooms, a laundry room, and a walk-in closet. Also, we would like the same person to replace door-pulls on 2 sliding doors in our closets.
Please contact me with quotes if you're interested in doing the job. Thanks!
The Rec room is approximately 14' x 19'. We would like a drop ceiling put in and pot lights installed. We are hoping to match the tiles (2' x 2') used elsewhere in the basement. The room was previously used as a work shop and so there are a number of hanging fluorescent lights that would need to be removed, as well as some 220 amp outlets.
Good afternoon,
We're renovating our condo and will need to have our ceiling stippling redone. Since it's a 504 square foot place, the job won't be too large or difficult, but it will have to be done on June 3rd after the demolition guys complete their work.
In addition to this, we will need to have new drywall repairs done.
Thank you and I hope to hear from someone soon! :)
Allie
We have been in our 1968 bi-level for almost two years. The lighting in the dining, kitchen and hallway areas on the main (top) level was done with large pot lights which we would like removing and replacing. The placement of those lights is fairly random and something has left a slight yellowed ring around them on the ceiling texture.
Our needs: remove the old lights, install new pot lights and one chandelier, repair holes to ceiling, and (we suspect) re-texture the entire ceiling to make it uniform again. Having just completed all renovations but the ceiling we truly hope this can all be done without damage to the walls.
The budget listed was a guess at what it might cost.
We are flexible as to when it could be started.
Husband is a tradesman and willing to be helpful.
No materials have been purchased.
Details of the knock down ceiling project scope:
-built 1965
-8' ceiling
-800 sq.ft house (only main floor)
-popcorn has been scraped off already
-no need to do knock down ceiling for closet areas
-kitchen cabinets has been gutted
-no furniture in house
-ceiling has been primed
-floor has been covered by tarp and held in place with duct tape
-all lights have been removed and plugged with paper
-all walls has been covered with plastic cover
We just want someone to do the knock down ceiling, no need to clean because we can just roll-up the plastic/tarp and throw away. Please send quote and references if possible.
Currently the ceiling has popcorn stipple texture - not painted.
Interested in having the popcorn stipple removed, and then replaced with knockdown stipple texture (painted as well).
Residential 2 storey dwelling - looking for two options:
1. Main Floor only - max 1000 square feet - no high ceilings
2. Main Floor & Top Floor - 1909 square feet total - some high ceilings in front entrance and above staircase
Looking for someone available the week of July 16th to do the project. Would also want some past references to contact to ensure quality work. Insured with WCB coverage is also a huge plus.
Thanks!
We have a leak in our living room that comes through either through the top of the window or the roof over the window. We suspect that the hole is in the balcony on the front of the house, but haven't been able to find it. Now there is water damage to the drywall on the roof (there's a bit of a jut out that covers a pipe/electrical in front of the window) and we'd like that replaced. Also, to find where it's coming from! Thanks.
We are away now - the job would be early September.
Had an upstairs toilet leak so require a small area in the living room ceiling to be repaired and the entire main floor to be scraped of popcorn ceiling and replaced with knockdown ceiling. Main floor is approximately 1,000 sq. ft. Also require linoleum removal and installation of tiles that we have already purchased in master and main bath.
My son had flooded our upstairs bathroom and as a result I now have two holes cut from my main floor ceiling. I have finally gotten approval from the insurance company but am thinking of taking the cash settlement and contracting out the work myself. My house is just over 1300sqft so the main floor is just under 700sqft. I need two 1'x1' holes fixed as well as the entire ceiling scraped (currently popcorn style) and retextured.
I have a minor ceiling leak and wall repair - the paint has begun to ripple on wall... ceiling is stipple. Drywall. About 2 feet by 1 foot or so. Not huge. Would love an idea of cost and timeline. It's a child's bedroom, so we are hoping for a quick and safe repair. House is about 40 years old, but this was an addition in 2000 ish.
Thank you!
