New installation of exhaust fan for showers in master bathroom (existing fan in the toilet room not adequate)
Check and replace as required Delta washers for 2 showers, 2 washbasins and one bathtub in master bathroom.
Check and repair/replace one-way and two-way switches for lights in basement family room.
House is 12 years old, basement developed and inspected at the time of original construction.
Prefer one mechanical/electrical contractor doing all work.
We have been in our 1968 bi-level for almost two years. The lighting in the dining, kitchen and hallway areas on the main (top) level was done with large pot lights which we would like removing and replacing. The placement of those lights is fairly random and something has left a slight yellowed ring around them on the ceiling texture.
Our needs: remove the old lights, install new pot lights and one chandelier, repair holes to ceiling, and (we suspect) re-texture the entire ceiling to make it uniform again. Having just completed all renovations but the ceiling we truly hope this can all be done without damage to the walls.
The budget listed was a guess at what it might cost.
We are flexible as to when it could be started.
Husband is a tradesman and willing to be helpful.
No materials have been purchased.
We are looking for a licensed Journeyman electrician for a newly developed basement rough-in electrical work @ heated framing stages. We will have permit with the city for the electrical rough-in. We already have the receptacles, switches, recessed lighting in place with holes drilled for running wiring with electrical supplies. We just need a electrician to hookup all the wiring by code.
Flexible day/evening/weekend schedule. Looking for someone asap.
Must be certified contractor as the exhaust fan will be installed in a strata unit.
Strata council also requested no damage to exterior of the building and a price quote.
I should also note that there was no existing hood fan and currently using an over the range microwave which has a fan that is exhausting on the interior of the building.
We want to have installed 8 potlights in our kitchen and 2 or 3 pendants over our island. The ceiling might have to be knocked down to do the work. There will be electrical work involved as well. Please let me know if you are qualified to do this work and if you are available to do the work in the near future.
We live in the SE part of the city.
Sincerely
Nature Gas Line:
Replacing electrical to natural gas stove (new gas line to existing location)
Electrical:
Using existing switch for Garburator (being removed) and using switch for under & inside cabinet lighting
Installing programmable thermostat for new in floor electrical heating
Not sure if this needs anything...replacing an existing over the range hood with an over the range microwave (does this need a power conversion here)...existing shelf microwave outlet will be decommissioned.
My current kitchen has a microwave/hood-fan combo above the stove that ventilates air back into the kitchen. I would like to replace this with a new stainless steel hood-fan that sends the ventilation outside of the house. It is a townhouse end unit in a condo complex and any exterior changes need to be submitted for approval. I will require a contractor who can provide me with the plans for this renovation first to present the condo board for approval.
Hi
I have a house in SE Calgary and our tenants have said the light fixture in the laundry room is not working. They have changed bulbs and checked fuses but they say it still doesn't work.
We'd like for someone to take a look at what the problem could be and advise/fix.
Please respond with cost to take a look and rates for repairs, if possible.
Other potential handyman work.
Thank you
Hi there,
We are doing a basement renovation and need some minor electrical work done sometime in the next few days. The house was built in 1925 and the electrical system in the house was reviewed and tweaked last year by an electrician. I don't expect any major upgrades are required.
I'd like to:
Move a 220v outlet for a dryer about three feet along the wall it is currently on.
Install a 110v outlet for a television & stereo
Run a cable wire for the television along the perimeter of the entire room with multiple outlets to allow for flexible TV location.
Install a light and switch in a new laundry room being framed now.
Install a light and switch just outside the new laundry room.
Optionally move a light switch from one side of the room to the other.
This all needs to happen in a space that is 22 feet by 18 feet. The area has been partially demolished and is being framed now.
My budget is not firm.
I have a light and fan combination that needs to be installed in an eating area. There is a light switch on the wall with a dimmer switch but nothing works with it. Want the light and fan installed on the ceiling. Also have a replacement window handle that needs to get installed, for the life of me cannot figure out how it goes in to replace the existing one which is broken.

I am removing a wall at the end of this week and it happens to contain some electrical outlets (3 plugs and 2 switches). To facilitate the installation of the beam (to replace the wall) we need to have the electrical moved out of the way temporarily. Once this is done, we have a longer list of items that need to be completed (install 2 pot lights, install line for fume hood, move stove and fridge line, install outlets etc).
Our home was build in the late 1970's and there has since been many DIY renovations done. The panel is currently in the basement and as we are now adding a garage and finishing the basement, we would like to make sure that everything is up to code including the electrical meter outside of the house.
We have:
1. an imported UK (hard plastic) chandelier which needs to replace an unloved chandelier!
2. outside plug sockets which don't work
3. outside security light which never really worked well--maybe replace and/or mend wiring?
