We have moved into a rental bungalow that has some cupboard and punter work space but not nearly enough. One L-shaped half of the kitchen is empty and that's where I need some creative help with an efficient solution. I could go up to $1500 for a complete solution that is put in place.
Following needs to be done (approx. description);
- Remove existing tubelights,
- Cut ceiling to pass 6" rigid duct thru roof,
- Complete ductwork and seal roof,
- Reroute electric wiring to hoodfan and provide two light fixtures in ceiling,
- Close ceiling
Kitchen has no room above. Hood fan and ducts shall be supplied to contractor.
I do not have a built in dishwasher but have a wall in the kitchen that could probably house one. I'd like to have a bank of cabinets either built or buy a pre-built cabinet and have it installed and plumbed for the dishwasher.
If this is not feasible, I'd like an estimate to re-organize the kitchen more efficiently..
I would also like to have a new entry door installed, either one purchased used from someplace like Habitat or new from Home Depot.
I need to remove the microwave combined with the cabinet above and replace them with a kitchen hood. This might involve some work as to reposition the ventilation opening on the wall and put the backsplash to the exposed area after the replacement. I would like to get an estimation of the cost for this work. My house is 3 years old and everything is in good condition. I still have some backsplash left by our builder in our house.
Home is a 4-level split and was built in 1969 – it is one side of a side x side duplex. The entire main floor will be renovated and will include: kitchen, dining room, small bathroom (no shower or tub) – some structural changes (wall removal), kitchen will be mostly pre-fabricated (most likely Ikea cabinets), plumbing, electrical and duct work will need be moved (there is a large crawl space underneath for easy access), new flooring (hardwood / tile), painting, ceiling refinished. The space is currently split into three areas – I’ve attached four photos; #1 - office area - located on south wall (space #1), #2 dining area - located on north wall (space #2), #3 & #4 current kitchen area - located between office and dining area (space #3). I’d like to remove the two walls that separate the 3 spaces and change the layout – space #1 will become the dining area, space #2 and #3 will become the kitchen area. The bathroom is located in the hallway, behind the current dinning area. If possible, I’d also like to remove part of the wall that separates the kitchen and hallway. Several years ago, French doors were added as the main entrance to the backyard. The original entrance still exists and need to be closed off (door removed, etc). I’m still in preliminary planning stages and would like to consult with a contactor re: possible structural changes, expected costs, etc before plans can be finalized. I’m looking to start reno in early 2009.
Our kitchen and both need renovation. We are looking for estimate from someone who does really neat quality work, in-budget and finish project on-time. We live near spruce meadow Calgary.
Please email me your contact along with reference and one or two pictures from your recently finished projects.
I have bought a house and I am looking for a free estimate on getting the kitchen re done and bathroom as it is very dated.. I can't get into the house but I can send pictures to get an approximate cost from someone.
Looking to get new cabinets and counter tops for the kitchen and bathroom needs new sink, tub and toilet.
I need this free estimate on your letter head so I can provide to the bank, quote needed within the next 2 days.
I'm looking for a quote for some work that needs done around our house... primarily work in our unfinished kitchen renovation, as well as I would like our bathroom updated.
Kitchen: baseboards, paint, kickplates, stove fan, backsplash, and shelfs.
Bathroom: tile, new countertop, lights, paint.
We have an older house, and have tested positive, in small percentage, for asbestos in the drywall mud. So based on this, I'm not certain what can be done in the bathroom other than tiles.
Misc things around the house include a small hole in the drywall, and baseboards in the living room, and some baseboard work on our stairs.
We have a home that was built in 1965, that we own currently, and that we are moving into it September 1st, it will be vacant until then. We would like to renovate one of the bathrooms and the kitchen immediately. The kitchen is aproximately 200 sq'. If possible, we would like remove a wall, and build an island. Some cabinets would also need to be moved. The bathroom needs new tile, and the installation of a new tub, toilet and vanity. It is aproximately 100 sq'. There is additional work that we are interested in having completed over the next 18 months, however the bathroom and kitchen are the immediate priority. If I can provide any other details to help, and to allow to quote, please let me know.
Id like a quote on the cost of installing hardwood on my main floor . It is mostly lino with the great room carpeted.
as well I would like to paint the main floor (900 sq ft) which includes a two storey foyer and the stairwell.
I would like to replace out the current kitchen cabinets(oak) and redo the countertops in granite or something similar. My house was built 12 years years ago and everything is original.
I want to open up the tiny kitchen in my condo by taking down part of the wall between the kitchen and living room. I need upper cupboards taken out, half a wall knocked down, ceiling finished, add electrical for ceiling lights and expand the counter into a breakfast bar. Wall is approximately nine feet long.

I have an approx. 12' by 12' kitchen that was flooded in late Sept 2012. The lino and subfloor need replacing. The back hall approx 3' by 14' is attached by lino so both lino and subfloor will also need to be replaced. The existing floor is a layer of lino then subfloor another layer of lino and a second subfloor. There is mold so all will need to be removed. There is 15% Chrystolite so a full asbestos remediation is required for the second layer of lino. The house was built in 1969 and is located in Varsity Village (by the U of C) in Calgary. I am hoping work can be completed quickly.
Unknown to us we have had a slow leak from our dishwasher for quite sometime. We only noticed when our kitchen floor showed a swelling in the lino and subfloor a few days ago. Upon removing the dishwasher it became obvious that it had been going on for quite some time. The floor beneath the dishwasher (3'x3') will need to be replaced as well as a small (3'x3') area on the outside of our counter. The entire kitchen, bathroom, and pantry will need to be recovered (apprx. 300 sq ft) with lino or vinyl tile. The area under the dishwasher is under a counter.
Hello, I am loooking to install a kitchen in my basement. I already have the space needed and all the cabinets and such from Ikea. I need to install an electric outlet for the stove, connect the drain for the sink, and of course install the cabinets. water connections are already done, as well as the main sewage drain is done.
The cabinets (from ikea) are already put together (24" x 60"). I will be putting a 3cm thick granite countertop with a 14" over hang on one side (this has already been paid for elsewhere).
I'm looking for help in cutting/attaching the toe-kick, side panels, and back panel. I'm also not sure if the cabinets need to be attached to the floor or how to go about that (tile floor). I need extra supports installed for the granite overhang. And finally I need the whole thing leveled for the countertop installation.
We need a new fridge and they have gotten a lot larger since we bought our last one. Our house is 20 years old and none of the newer fridges will fit. I would like an estimate to see if we could remove the cupboard above the old fridge or make it smaller. Also the space needs more width. I would like an expert opinion as to whether or not this is possible within our kitchen without any major renos.
To whom it may concern:
I am currently building a new house. We are having the basement developed, but there are some things that the builder refused to do and we will need to be done soon after our possession date of January 30, 2014.
I have attached a drawing that shows what the basement kitchen setup will look like when we take possession. The following is what we would like to get quoted (numbered as per drawing circles):
1. Remove upper cabinet. Create hole and vent for OTR microwave. Run 110V connection for the OTR microwave. Install smaller cabinet and OTR microwave.
2. Remove lower cabinet and cut laminate countertop to allow for an oven to be placed in that location. Run 220V connection for the oven.
Note the electrical breaker box is located approximately 15 feet to the right of where the location of oven/OTR is to be installed. It would be through the wall into the unfinished furnace room.
We are looking to have this work done during the first week in February 2014.
Thank you for your time and I look forward to clarifying any questions you might have.
