We have a home that was built in 1965, that we own currently, and that we are moving into it September 1st, it will be vacant until then. We would like to renovate one of the bathrooms and the kitchen immediately. The kitchen is aproximately 200 sq'. If possible, we would like remove a wall, and build an island. Some cabinets would also need to be moved. The bathroom needs new tile, and the installation of a new tub, toilet and vanity. It is aproximately 100 sq'. There is additional work that we are interested in having completed over the next 18 months, however the bathroom and kitchen are the immediate priority. If I can provide any other details to help, and to allow to quote, please let me know.
Thank you,
Spence
Id like a quote on the cost of installing hardwood on my main floor . It is mostly lino with the great room carpeted.
as well I would like to paint the main floor (900 sq ft) which includes a two storey foyer and the stairwell.
I would like to replace out the current kitchen cabinets(oak) and redo the countertops in granite or something similar. My house was built 12 years years ago and everything is original.
I want to open up the tiny kitchen in my condo by taking down part of the wall between the kitchen and living room. I need upper cupboards taken out, half a wall knocked down, ceiling finished, add electrical for ceiling lights and expand the counter into a breakfast bar. Wall is approximately nine feet long.
House is about 10 mins NW of Calgary built in 1974.
Add on is 10' x 16' with a 2' x 12' bay. Total width is 12'. Include basement underneath.
Std framing mat'l, need HW floors, oak cabinets and granite tops. Roof is asphalt.
One large bay window and one sliding glass door to deck.
Need a 3' x 10' island with sink.
Existing kitchen is 13' x 13' and will need new floors plus 10 lin ft of new cabinets.
Have some general concept dwgs if you need more info.
Prefered const is between june and july
Depending on cost may elect to proceed with a few more additions for
-10' x 13' laundry, back entrance room.
-10' x 28' living/dinning room.
-12' x 30' garage expansion.
I have an approx. 12' by 12' kitchen that was flooded in late Sept 2012. The lino and subfloor need replacing. The back hall approx 3' by 14' is attached by lino so both lino and subfloor will also need to be replaced. The existing floor is a layer of lino then subfloor another layer of lino and a second subfloor. There is mold so all will need to be removed. There is 15% Chrystolite so a full asbestos remediation is required for the second layer of lino. The house was built in 1969 and is located in Varsity Village (by the U of C) in Calgary. I am hoping work can be completed quickly.
Unknown to us we have had a slow leak from our dishwasher for quite sometime. We only noticed when our kitchen floor showed a swelling in the lino and subfloor a few days ago. Upon removing the dishwasher it became obvious that it had been going on for quite some time. The floor beneath the dishwasher (3'x3') will need to be replaced as well as a small (3'x3') area on the outside of our counter. The entire kitchen, bathroom, and pantry will need to be recovered (apprx. 300 sq ft) with lino or vinyl tile. The area under the dishwasher is under a counter.
Hello, I am loooking to install a kitchen in my basement. I already have the space needed and all the cabinets and such from Ikea. I need to install an electric outlet for the stove, connect the drain for the sink, and of course install the cabinets. water connections are already done, as well as the main sewage drain is done.
The cabinets (from ikea) are already put together (24" x 60"). I will be putting a 3cm thick granite countertop with a 14" over hang on one side (this has already been paid for elsewhere).
I'm looking for help in cutting/attaching the toe-kick, side panels, and back panel. I'm also not sure if the cabinets need to be attached to the floor or how to go about that (tile floor). I need extra supports installed for the granite overhang. And finally I need the whole thing leveled for the countertop installation.
We need a new fridge and they have gotten a lot larger since we bought our last one. Our house is 20 years old and none of the newer fridges will fit. I would like an estimate to see if we could remove the cupboard above the old fridge or make it smaller. Also the space needs more width. I would like an expert opinion as to whether or not this is possible within our kitchen without any major renos.
To whom it may concern:
I am currently building a new house. We are having the basement developed, but there are some things that the builder refused to do and we will need to be done soon after our possession date of January 30, 2014.
I have attached a drawing that shows what the basement kitchen setup will look like when we take possession. The following is what we would like to get quoted (numbered as per drawing circles):
1. Remove upper cabinet. Create hole and vent for OTR microwave. Run 110V connection for the OTR microwave. Install smaller cabinet and OTR microwave.
2. Remove lower cabinet and cut laminate countertop to allow for an oven to be placed in that location. Run 220V connection for the oven.
Note the electrical breaker box is located approximately 15 feet to the right of where the location of oven/OTR is to be installed. It would be through the wall into the unfinished furnace room.
We are looking to have this work done during the first week in February 2014.
Thank you for your time and I look forward to clarifying any questions you might have.

I have a Kitchen Remodel Project. One wall is 174 inches, the second is 137.5 inches and a third wall needs to be opened and framed for an cabinet insert the dimensions are: 66.5 inches wide by 24 inches deep. A complete tear out of the current kitchen cabinets, removal of tile wall and flooring. Movement of the Stove Electrical and the Dishwasher electrical, along with the installation of a Exhaust Fan with electrical and approximately 9 pot lights. Movement of the kitchen sink and dishwasher so the plumbing requires movement. Installation of drywall, and new subfloor for tiling. Patch and repair the remaining walls, and installation of a kitchen door. Installation of tile, taping sanding and painting (I will supply the paint so the correct color and type is chosen)
I do have the current plan/layout for the new kitchen. House has a finished basement, but where the kitchen is, it has a drop down ceiling so installation/movement of plumbing is accessible. House was build in 1960's. No absesotos is in the house as per the Absesotos inspection report. I am comfortable in supplying both the tile and paint and kitchen door so the right product will be used by the Contractor thus no concern about the "wrong" product. Contractor must be willing to sign a written document outlining our agreed upon work so no surprises for either of us. If changes are required than a Change Request must be submitted and agreed upon prior to the work being started.
Contractor must carry insurance and be willing to complete the job on the agreed upon schedule. Delays to completion will have to be negotiated between the Contractor and myself. Contractor must supply a City of Calgary Permit and be responsible for the inspections and results of the inspection.
I would like to gut my kitchen, my house is 60+ years old, move my sink (would involve new plumbing) & cabinets to a different wall, get rid of wall dividing kitchen & dining room,(it is a typical bungalow kitchen). I would like to use better products, but not all top of the line eg; granite countertops, middle end flooring (ceramic tile,or laminate wood). The room is 10x14 or 140 sq feet.Basically I would like a kitchen that is functional & offers a lot more storage.I would like to start as soon as possible & would like to know how long a job like this would take.We will also be staying in the house during the reno.
Thank you,
Carrie
Would like to change a 1960's kitchen into a bright, functional, with lots of storage, easy to clean. Want a great stove for stir frying, and good ventilation. Need all new appliances. Want a easy to clean back splash and no hard to clean grout. Would love granite or marble countertops with a fancy delta touch sink. Also need a dishwasher, microwave, fridge, double sink, oven, island.
Looking for hardwood floors, repainting of the walls, and changing all the cabinets. Need a kid and pet friendly main floor.
Need to redo the mudroom, might want to take out a wall or two.

Our home is about 25 years old and needs a new kitchen - top to bottom. We have most colors and materials selected but require a reliable contractor to put it all together. The kitchen is about 15'x25', we want tile flooring, new cabinets, probably custom, we have all appliances on order, we want inset lighting, under counter lighting, granite counter-tops and a new 3'x3' window over the sink.
Our house is 30 yrs old and in need of updating. We would like to expand our small kitchen. To do so we have already added an addition to the side of the house. From this addition we would like to have basement access which currently in our present kitchen. Once the new basement access is done the stairwell currently in the kitchen will become part of the new kitchen. The back door and kitchen window (would like new for both) will need to be moved, they will be in the new kitchen. The new kitchen will require plumbing and electrical. The approx size of the new kitchen will be 13' x 17'. A new wall will need to be put up between the kitchen and living room. A closet will need to be removed in the living room to allow for the new stairwell. We would like to get rid of the popcorn ceiling in the living room, kitchen and hallway. Also hardwood floors for the kitchen and living room and hallway. Ceramic tile for the addition (100 sq/ft).
I have a kitchen island in a 1998 house that I want to change the shape of: from a wide U shape with a raised eating bar in the center, to a rectangular island (is the idea in my mind, but open to suggestions). The sink and dishwasher are a part of this island, so that would have to be incorporated in the change. The cabinets are oak, so the island would need to match that scheme, and I am looking to change the countertops to quartz.
Looking to get some quotes/estimates, or even suggestions on whether my idea work with the way the kitchen is shaped.
We live in a heritage house & decided to redo our kitchen. We have decided on ikea cabinetry. We are looking to take down a wall between the kitchen and the dining room to open up the space. The wall may be load bearing based on where it's located.
In addition we will be moving the range hood and will need to add the necessary ventilation.
I've replaced my kitchen cabinets, sink, and countertops, and now it's time for a pro to do the cabinet trim, backsplash tile, and laminate flooring. The kitchen is very small (picture from a few weeks ago attached, cabinets are now complete). The sink side counter is 6.5 feet long.
Carpentry/Finishing:
There are six places for cabinet trim to be added between the cabinets and walls, and two places where the crown moulding at the ceiling needs to be cut back to make room for trim pieces.
The clip together laminate flooring is in 4x1 foot sections, and looks like 1foot x1foot slate tiles. The total section to be covered is around 100sq ft, including under the fridge and oven, and through to a small entry way just outside the kitchen. The floor is quite creaky in some places and needs to be screwed down, but the new flooring can float on the existing laminate
I'm still deciding on the backsplash tile, but it will likely be subway tile and the total space to be covered is 80-90 sq feet. It will go above the countertop, above the stove, and a wall to the right of the stove.
Additional pictures available upon request.
This is a 50+ years old side x side du-plex. Kitchen is 11 x 10 feet aproxx. Demolition is mostly complete, so basically an empty room. Have had some plumbing done, but there is a leak somewhere coming from the ceiling pipes from the up stairs bath. Purchased some materials such as: kitchen sink, appliances (range, dishwasher), new vanity+sink for up-stairs bathroom, some mouldings/trim. Would like to buy a fridge a.s.a.p. Vinyl/lino flooring preferred. Silestone/quartz counter tops perferred. Full over-lay cabinets with european hinges perferred.
Also have other areas of the house that could use some work, repairs, or new instalation (eg. stair railings, new bathroom in basement, ect.). Kitchen reno is the priority though.
