We currently live in a four level split in Midnapore and need to replace the roofing on the house and garage. The total living area above grade is 1280 sq ft, and the garage is 22 x 24. We are not sure what kind of materials we are interested in and not sure where to start. We are also looking at repainting the house and have started to look at paint colours but have not made any final decisions. We are looking for someone that could offer ideas and help us decide on materials and colours. There is also some brick on the house and are not sure what to do with it.
I am the owner and operator of a well established and reputable window and door replacement company that gets many requests for siding, eaves, soffit, fascia, stone, stucco, and roof work.
I am looking to expand into these new areas of exterior renovations but I don't have the internal manpower at this time.
I would instead prefer to partner with another entrepreneurial individual or company that has a high level of expertise and experience in high quality exterior renovations, but may not have the experience or desire for the business side of things, which is my area of expertise.
I have many industry contacts, including Insurance Companies, Large Renovators, Property Managers, Homeowners, and Multi-Family Building Owners. My company has earned a high level of trust with them all and would have no problem getting work and referrals from them for other exterior work.
I have a showroom and warehouse (great for logistics and instant credibility in a "fly-by-night-horror-story" industry and I also have great credit in order to get great payment terms from suppliers and have been successful in negotiating very favourable vendor agreements.

If this sounds like the right fit for you, I would love yo hear from you and learn more about your background, experience, and vision for this new partnership.
Framing contractor is needed to install a new roof on an existing fourplex building in Bowness. Existing roof is flat (tar and gravel). New roof will be a stick built rafter system at a 2.5:12 pitch.
Development permit and building permit are in place. Drawings are available.
Contractor is responsible for material take-offs, installation of rafters and associated framing, installation of 5/8" gypsum fire wall within the new roof system, connections to the existing structure, 75 mm wide saw cut around the perimeter of the existing roof to provide ventitation between the existing and new roof, extension of approximately 12 vents to above new roof line, installation of roofing sheathing, clean up and disposal of all waste.

I recently bought a house where some of the shingles are curling upwards in some spots neither the house roof or garage roof have turbines. The house is 1550 sq ft bungalow with a fairly flat roof. The house only has two vents and no turbine. What kind of cost do you think I am looking at and what roof would you suggest? I am in Calgary and need to hire someone who is reasonable for cost as well as very good at what they do and reputable. Please help
We put an offer on a half duplex and had the inspection done today. We were told that should a roofer come out it would be suggested to have it replaced. There are a few asphalt shingles missing and could be repaired for the moment. The house is 792 sq ft. We also have birds making nests on the overhang, the screen is broken. Since it is our first home we are not sure of any prices. For the moment online estimates would be appreciated, ball park figures of what a roof would cost.
Thanks for your time
Debbie
The small roof that's covering my porch is sloping. This small roof is resting on a pole which rests on a big chunk of cement. I believe the ground has settled which caused the roof to slope. A small porch is also attached to this pole which is also sloping. I believe the pole needs to be raised which will level the small roof and porch. Thank you.
There is water dripping from my bathroom fan when it rains. It does not happen everytime but can't use the bathroom fan.
I have been up on the roof several times but I can't fix this. I am interested in getting a new bathroon exhaust on the roof with flashing and maybe only maybe a new bathroom fan.
I would like a quote for the replacement of a roof and sidings for a mobile trailer approx 65 ft x 14 ft. I would like, if possible to see the quote separated as follows -
Roofing - quote for removing existing shingles and installation of new ones.
Roofing - quote for installation of new shingles
Siding - quote for removing existing siding and installation of new
Siding - quote for installation of new
I am looking for the most economical materials so nothing fancy.
Many thanks!
Not certain of sq footage of entire roof but the bungalow is about 1050 sq ft. Located in Tuxedo.(NW Calgary) Bungalow built in '47 but has had extensive upgrading including two additions off front bedroom and back kitchen. I am thinking this would classify the roof as gabled (?). Roof was last done probably in the early to mid 90s. No sky lights. It has been noted that I need three additional vents. I have had a couple of quotes however a two important aspects of the roofing procedure were listed, in both cases, as optional. Whereas, these should be a given hense included in the overall quote. I believe the only item that should be optional would be the warranty (30, 40 or life). And the color! Please advise.
We are having a low pitch (2.5 in12) rafter roof installed on a 4-plex building in Bowness Calgary that presently has a flat roof. We need a licenced roofing contractor to install ice/water membrane and shingles after the framing contractor completes the rafter installation and roof shealthing, The framing and sheathing work is expected to be completed about December 6, 2010.
The area of the low pitch gable roof will be approximately 270 m2 (2800 ft2). There are approximately 16 vents (four furnances, four dryers, eight plumbing vents) that will need flashing and sealing. There may also be four access "trap doors" through the sheathing.
See the attached drawings.
We have a early 1960's house that has minimal eave venting. We would like to install an electric roof vent/fan (already purchased and have on hand), but recognize we also need better venting under the eave. IT is currenlty plywood soffit, with only a few holes cut in them. We'd like to ensure proper venting, and think we'll need new soffit to do so. This may or may not also mean new fascia. We'd like the contractor to also install the vent.
We are also considering replacing the upstairs windows and replacing the existing siding - however, this can be discussed during a site visit.
South Calgary (26 Ave SW) bungalow has a patio off of the house in the back yard. The patio has a cover over it which is 2x4 framed and comes the roof of the house. The patio cover consists of clear, corrugated plastic sheets which are fastened onto the 2x4 framework. The corrugated sheets need to be replaced.
Require a quote for:
2- Ultra performance triple glaze VCM fixed skylights with Cardinal LoE3, Argon x2 366 cubed glazing, hail resistant tempered x 3 outside measurement of curb 49.5 x 49.5.
Full flashing replacements at both skylights as well, including, step, wall, back pan, and counter flashings as needed.
I am not looking for top of the line product, middle of the road is my thought. Basically a quality product at a good price point.
Assess roof and provide quote for areas that need attention.
Please provide an all-in quote for either 15 [preferred] or 25-yr asphalt shingles. This would include the house and the small back yard shed. A single, very hi priced quote [compared with a similarly- aged house with a garage, about 1/2 of that quote) did not explain to me the need for an ice-shield near the eaves, as I gather the houses' slope angle is small. Only 1 roofing layer present . This house may be sold within 7-10 yrs, don't know as yet, but it certainly needs a new roof before this winter...
thanx, Bill
The shingles on our house are wore out in the valleys and we are in need to have them replaced. We are also looking at having more roof vents installed and redo the fascia, soffit and eaves at the same time. This would be the house as well as the detached garage. We are considering some of the longer lasting, green products, whether it is a Interlock, Metro Stone, GEM Euroslate. We are looking at having quotes within a week or two to start the job in Mid May.
Garage is large (26 x 28) with approximately 728 sq. feet of roof with practically flat surface (1 x 12 pitch). I would prefer a torched style roof with some work on plywood edges that have deteriorated and edging to direct water off the roof into eaves troughing.
The current roofing blew off roof in recent windstorm. Damage will occur with any rain or snow.
Please offer on line estimates only and if you require further information, don't hesitate to return email message.
We have an 1800 sq ft story and a half home with two dormers and three skylights. The country home is located at Twin Butte which is a hamlet located between Pincher Creek and Waterton Lakes National Park approx. 2 1/2 hrs from Calgary. The home was built in 1990.
We are going to roof with metal, the home currently has cedar shakes.
We are going to stucco, the home is currently sided.
New windows and doors are ordered and will be installed before the middle of March.
Our house needs help. Built in 2003, we are still trying to complete our basement, and we have an insurance claim for redoing our rooof. The basement is partially finished with floating studs for walls and a 1 peice shower in the bathroom that is not plummed in. We need help with the plumbing of the shower, toilet, and sink, and to help finish the framing properly around the tub. Our roof has been appraised by an insurance company for replacement.
House is located in Copperfield in the Southeast, and would like to start this project fairly quickly.
I am available all day on tuesday for someone to come by and see the place.
When we went to replace ceiling fixture in bedroom, noticed rust on light fixture and slight water damage on ceiling, so it appears water has leaked in from somewhere. Ceiling material is soft and weak, therefore we cannot install a new light. Water stain appears old. Shingles were replaced 4 years ago, however we have had roof repaired in similar area recently as well.
