I have 3 small jobs that I need to have done in my apartment-style condo, I'm hoping to get someone that can do all three:
1 - I currently don't have a dishwasher, and I want to get one installed. This will require some cabinet work, plumbing, electrical for the unit.
2 - I have an ancient in the wall shower fan that is outrageously loud when turned on. I want it removed, the hole patched, and a proper ceiling shower fan installed. A quiet one.
3. - I had the taps replaced in my shower, the plumber who did the job told me I had to get a separate diverter for the shower head rather than on the spout, and left a hole in the shower wall.
Hi, The attachment is the tub area as it is right now. I have all the tile, rain forest shower head that instead of putting on the wall like most we would like to have it moved to the ceiling. I want to convert the 2 handle taps to one, (have) with the shower diverter. There will no longer be a tub. I will want to have a 14x22 niche added to the wall and there will be a lineur drain, which I have. I also have the glass shower doors. We will do all the demo and any prep work you will need us to do. We have a Schulter shower pan (39x39), if that;s the right term and wanted to cut 6" off the width to make it 33 Wide and add that to the length to be 45". Then the space left over behind the new shower I will build a frame so the back wall is there. I also need 2 black under the counter sinks changed to the same thing and to change the old white toilet to a black one although if I can do it I will, lol, never done that before. We are willing to help out should you need it.
Thanks so much.
I need a new shower installed and the drywall alongside the shower (which is showing signs of water damage). The shower is a small upright corner unit that is sold at Home Depot. I'd like to keep the same footprint to avoid moving the drain (on concrete). The fixtures can stay. The drywall required is approximately 12' wide (2 sides of the shower and a small amount on a third wall adjacent to the shower. I'd like it fully finished (painted), matching the existing paint colour as closely as possible. I would like it done with one week from start to finish as started as quickly as possible.
To start, I'd like a rough budget (range is fine) and confirmation of insurance, WCB, etc.
We recently purchased a 1951 home in the Parkallen area. We have completed several of the renovations ourselves, but this project will require help! We would like to place a three-piece bathroom on the top floor of the house.
Currently the space is divided between a closet for the bedroom and a storage area on the top landing. I haven't measured it fully but I'm estimating we are talking 80/100sqr feet of space to play with. I'll be looking to install a shower, toilet and vanity/sink unit. As mentioned I've completed a lot of the current work, but I'm not a carpenter by any means. I'd like to hire someone to come plan and execute the bathroom with us.
If the price is right the company would handle the complete reno, if we start going too high for our budget I'd be looking to scale it back to allow us to reduce cost by installing a few items ourselves. Once the plan is in place we would also assist by doing some the demolition work before hand, my lady loves that part of our work so far.
I have a 70-square foot main bathroom in a 53-year old house. Moisture has seeped in behind the plastic wall tiles where the bath/shower plumbing is installed. I'm sure these tiles are as old as the house. The wall behind the plumbing is very slowly starting to crumble. We would please like an online quote to strip the old tiles off, repair the wall and, instead of re-tiling, we would like a tub surround installed. The existing tub is a standard size tub. Thank you in advance for your consideration.
I'm looking to get a pair of bathrooms renovated. The house is a 1950s 1 1/2 story with 2 1/2 baths.
There is a bathroom in the basement we can use while the work on the other two is carried out. The bathroom on the main floor is serviceable ( although the enamel is coming off the tub) however in order to get to the pipework for the upstairs bathroom we need to take the walls down in this bathroom.
We would like a simple like for like replacement in this bathroom with a standard corner tub, new sink, new toilet, new lights, new tiling, new floor and maybe an inset medicine cabinet.
The upstairs is trickier. The space is a dormer in the roof. However, the current bathroom does not fill this entire space. Currently it contains a toilet and basin. Ideally we would like to somehow fit a shower in here too, either a small cubicle or make the whole room a wet room.
There will likely need to be some movement of doors / plumbing stack depending on the design. The current pipework in the upstairs bathroom will need replacing since it is 60 years old and has become semi-blocked over time.
We are not looking for anything too fancy, just simple bathrooms.
30 year old house with unfinished basement renos. Was flood damaged, mostly had to rebuild from bare concrete. Going OK on my own but taking too long, so calling in the pros. Exterior walls are all framed and spray-foam insulated already. No elec or plumbing needed (I have a couple of friends with their tickets).
What has to be done:
- Room #1: 10' x 13.5'. Frame in closet (I already have the sliding door). Drywall, tape and finish room ready for painting (including ceiling).
- Room #2: 12' x 12'. Frame in closet (I already have the sliding door), doorway, box in some hvac. Drywall, tape and finish room ready for painting (including ceiling).
- Bathroom: 7' x 9'. Frame, green board and finish ready for painting (including ceiling). Perhaps closet, perhaps frame in shower. Need to discuss options with you the contractor.
- Hallway: 25' linear. 18' need framing. Drywall, tape and finish ready for painting.
- Install 2 doors. They are not full height because of the ductwork, so I'll need your opinion on that. If you have a good solution there is an existing door I want replaced too.
- Install 2 standard doors.
Partial Bathroom reno
Needed: remove and replace current ceramic tile floor with either new ceramic tile or lino, install baseboards and trim on window, trim on "pony" wall (ledge) running around bathroom perimeter(molding is fine) hang closet door for towel closet, correct botched pedestal sink install, finish work on bulkhead for claw foot tub "surround" Possible painting as well. Would be ok with finish work on the surround to just be drywalled and plastered and made ready for painting. Capping this area off in wood trim would also be alright if feasable, will discuss during viewing.
SORRY, CANNOT GET THE PICTURES TO UPLOAD PROPERLY....I HAVE THEM ON MY DRIVE AND CAN SEND THEM TO ANY INTERESTED CONTRACTORS UPON CONTACT. THANK YOU.

We are looking to add an additional theatre space to our exisiting facitility to provide a performance space for both our year round facility as well as our summer Festival. We are looking to add several washroom facilities to our warehouse space: mens, women's and handicap access with a structural ceiling for storage above washrooms (very high ceilings in our warehouse). Water supply and SOME waste drains exist already. We are looking for a quote for complete install- plumbing, electrical, venting, framing, drywall, finishing and permits.
Hi,
I have a roughed-in bathroom in my basement that we would like to finish. My house was built in 1994. While we finish that bathroom, we would like to replace the linoleum in our kitchen, entryway, and two upstairs bathrooms to match the flooring that will go in the downstairs bathroom. We are thinking of using the vinyl flooring that looks like tile/stone.
In the bathroom, we want a sink and toilet (obviously), and at least a shower stall, but we may have enough room for a bathtub as well. We are open to suggestions as to the best materials to use.
I realize that you will probably need to come see the spaces so that you can provide an accurate estimate; this shouldn't be a problem.
Leaking noted from around drain and movement noticed in foam core base of stall ? causing leakage due to poor seal at drain. Contractor would ideally repair situation without having to replace Maax shower stall as brand new.
Flooring would require replacement after shower stall issues resolved.
Tenant is currently living in basement suite of this 1950s home. Renovations completed May 2011.
We have a 25yr+ old tile shower in the basement. Would like to have it remade as there are signs of mold as water has been leaking out at the floor level. The shower has three tiled sides and an open side for the shower curtain. The stall is 87in high, two sides are 29.5 in and across from the entrance is 35 in. The opening is 22.5 in with tiled sides of 6 in. The ceiling has a light fixture.
I have a shower stall that has three walls. and one side is open (shower curtain). Within the shower stall is mostly a prefabbed plastic shower kit. The remainder of the interior at the top consists of tiles. I would like to get the prefabbed part replaced. As well I would like the tiles replaced with paint instead. There is also a 1.5' x 2' overhang at the top of the entrance side that can be removed to let in more light. There is also tile on the floor of the bathroom, I would like to have a 2' x 3' section replaced that is right in front of the shower.
I recently bought a house which was built in 1950, which close to McNally HIgh School. The house is in good shape and I have had it structurally inspected before purchasing it; however, it does need some work hense my post.
The house is approximately 800 square feet on the main floor, which already has a bathroom . The basement is partially finished and is approximately 500 square feet, I would like an additional bathroom built downstairs. The downstairs has two bedrooms which have been finished; whoever, the rest of the space is concrete with the existing plumbing exposed and easy to tap into.
The existing bathroom has a bathtub and shower combo and is approximatelt 5X7. This bathroom just needs to be remodeled as it hasn't been in years. The basement bathroom will have to be completely roughed in and built from scratch.
I would like to have the work completed by mid August if possible and I have no problem with the contractor starting immediately.
I will need refernces from the contractor and an estimate and once you see the house an quote for the total project. Thank you very much for reading my post!!
Frances
I am looking to do a very basic renovation on a bathroom in my downtown condo. I need the bathtub replaced along with tiles ( I am open to a all in one solution where the tub comes with the rest of the backslash attached if that saves money) and a new sink. All items should be basic white . There is also a little drywall next next to the tub that needs replacement. This is a rental property so as long as it looks clean and neat I am happy.
What is the ballpark price for a Reno of this type?
I am collecting quotes from a number of contractors for this little job, I need more work done as well. I am starting off with this and then moving forward with some other projects and would like to build a relationship with a contractor I can trust. If you think you might fit the bill please email me back with details.
Thank you for your time,
Cheers
Sean.
Remove 58 inch Bathtub and install 60 inch white tub.
- may need to notch studs at the foot of the tub to accomodate a 60 inch bathtub. Foot of tub is in wall which has closet of a secondary (smaller) bedroom on the other side. I HAVE A TUB HELD WHICH HAS SUITABLE SIZE FLANGES/lip in order to do this. PREFERENCE would be to move the drain and reframe at the plumbing end so that the bathtub in the photo can fit.
- remove old drywall and tile, and add Aquaboard or equivalent
- (we do have a professional who can do demolition on April 30 if preferred)
- tub surround with 12 x 24 inch tile which is in stock at TileTown warehouse
- existing tub is in 3rd photo.
In a 1980 townhouse in Castle Downs area of Edmonton. Professional photographer will be scheduled for May 14. New tenants move in May 15. Work MUST be 100% complete by May 13. My Property management company in Edmonton will monitor work. (They have lots of rentals so good to get known by them.) Photos to be sent to me of work done.
There is a painter on site at present. Vinyl planking flooring is scheduled to be installed by a flooring company. Work must be coordinated with them.
Looking for a fair market price otherwise won’t proceed with this job.
Phone calls any time after 2:00 pm, or email is even better and I will then call you.
We had a major reno done 10 years ago but now the shower is leaking into the basement.
I know it wasn't waterproofed properly the first time so i suspect it needs to be taken down and re done.
It has a custom glass door and wall. Shower base with tile walls.
Plumbing is OK. I want a 100% water proof shower since this is a income property.
I have a small window when this job can be done. i dont imagine it should take more than 3-4 days.
I have a 60x34 standing shower from Maax which has a crack near the drain which was repaired by the builder around 8 years ago. The shower is leaking again and I have to replace it with a new one.
Need quote for the replacement of the standing shower and also fixing the small 2"x2" hole in the ceiling down below (there is a dinning area below the washroom).
Also need an alternative quote for tiling the walls and using shower base.
We need 7 tubs replaced for renos in a condo unit close to NAIT. It's an older building with steel tubs and cheap tub surrounds. We just need the old tubs removed, the new tubs installed, the fixtures reattached (or new ones attached) and we will take care of the rest. We are happy to supply the materials if someone is willing to work for labour only.
