Problem:
This isnt a new bathroom. House is about 8 years old. A flaw in pluming/flooring in the top floor bathroom, causing a leak to the main floor ceiling. To top leakage I removed toilet, tiles and made two opening in the plywood floor to allow it to dry.
Required:
new pluming for the toilet drainage, to eliminate leakage
Replacing old floor (plywood).
Tiling for the new floor.
Bathroom dimensions:
5. 5 ft x 5.7 ft.
This project is required ASAP.
1950 house, main bathroom. 6 10" square, with hall closet taking up a corner with the tub. Shower has needed new tiles due to a hole and expanding tiles - tile in shower surround to be removed completely. Paint is peeling on the ceiling. Toilet seal was leaking, went under lino (discovered recently) - we started lifting the lino and decided a complete overhaul was necessary. We would like to gut the bathroom to it's studs and redo.
Want to keep current tub and toilet is only 5 years old. Put in new surround, new pedestal sink, Would like to recess the mirror if possible and put in tile floor. New light fixture, sink back splash. There is a bathroom plug in under the mirror.
We have an unfinished basement with 1 bedroom partially complete.
We are interested in putting in a bathroom next that would need to be fully completed by June 11Th.
The project would include all framing, drywall, tiling, venting and electrical for the bathroom as well as plumbing for a stand up shower, pedestal sink and toilet (rough in's already in place).
Thanks in advance!
I would like to do a bathroom install in the basement of my rental (North Edmonton) in July. There is currently a laundry room and storage area in this location but it does have a rough in for a bathroom. It is approx. 200 sq/ft. I have LOTS of projects between our rentals and our personal home that I would like to do, however, this is priority and we will start there.
Thank you in advance for your consideration.
Im interested in adding a bathroom to my basement level of my two storey duplex. The bathroom layout would include a shower along with the toilet and sink. The corner i would like the bathroom to be placed would require the washer and dryer to be moved. Right now im just interested in finding out what the intial piping placement may cost me. The actual building of the room i may be wanting to build on my own. Im just interested in finding out if the bathroom placement is plausible and how much work will need to go into it.
House built in 1921, needs upgrades to look modern. Walls are currently covered in some kind of waterproof sheets. They need to come down, walls probably need to be repaired and then repainted. We would like to tile the bathtub/ shower area. A new lino floor would be sufficient, tile would be prefered depending on pricing. Sink and tub may need to be replaced as both are quite old. The cabinets could use replacing or at least a fresh coat of paint. This is the only bathroom in the house, and we are basically looking for a complete makeover.
The work involves replaceing shower, bath, vanity and toilet. The contractor will obtain all necessary permits. There is a wall between the toilet and bath which is to be removed and the arched opening at the bedroom is to be changed to a Door. The walls with tiles on are to be removed completly and replaced with moisture resistant material. The wiring for the lights and fan is to be modified so they can be operated from the new door way. The major problem is the floor is heated by water. The shower is to be reorientated, and to use the existing drain a custom tiled floor pan will be required. The new shower will have two tiled walls and one of glass, with a glass door. A new 5 foot tub est cost $400. The vanity maybe reused though with a new top and sink. Above the sink a new mirror and light. Finally a new toilet est cost $300. I do not visulise full wall tiling. I have found a floor tile which can be glued over the existing tiles. It costs $5 per sq foot. All items used must be better than contractor quality though not high end. Design advise with the layout and chosen fixtures will be required. The finished room is about 10 foot by 8 foot. At this time I am looking for a budget estimate as I am a prospective buyer.
Looking to refresh bathroom. Requires
- removing glass doors
- retile or install surround (easier / cheaper of the two)
- replace tub
- replace faucet / fixtures
- repair some drywall splash damage beside tub
Selling house after living in it for 10+ years. Looking for something simple and good quality to leave to next owner.
We have lived in our new home only a few months, and were told at our home inspection that we have a soft spot in the bathroom floor between the toilet and bathtub. The linoleum has now started to lift, and we have recently had a contractor in to assess the situation. He has told us that we will have to rip everything out of the bathroom and replace the rotting floor. Seeing as everything will be ripped out anyway, I would like to then relocate the bathroom to the bedroom right next to it. It would provide a lot more space. We are pretty sure there is harwood underneath the carpet, but not sure of it's condition. I suppose the pipes would have to be extended, and we would like to have a four piece bathroom (sink, toilet, shower, soaker tub). We would still like the flooring fixed in the 'now' bathroom. It's dimensions are approx. 7.6 ft x 5 ft. The bedroom where we would like to move the bathroom is approx. 10.9 ft x 9.25 ft. In summation, we need:
-floor and all bathroom fixtures removed
-replace floor
-carpet removed
-pipes extended
-toilet, sink, tub, and shower installed in new room
We are working on a bathroom remodel in our 1960's duplex. Doing as much work as possible on our own. Would like our new tub installed and the old copper/brass overflow drain needs to be removed as the new one is pvc (some retrofitting needed).
1. Wondering how much it would cost to install a new tub if the old tub has already been removed?
2. Or how much it would cost to remove the old steel tub with an acrylic newer tub atached on top (the two tubs were never sealed properly and its like standing on a water bed) and install the brand new one?
Interested in master bathroom renovation which would include removing the existing corner whirlpool tub and having a free standing soaker/clawfooted tub, as well as changing the existing shower and having a larger shower installed. With this being done, would also need to change the existing flooring that is lino.
Home is 2 stories and is 10 years old built by Park Royal Homes and we are looking to update the existing bathroom off the Master bedroom
We are interested in online estimates
I am interested in rennovating the two bathrooms in my appartment.
The concrete high-rise appartment style condo was built in 1970, and very few upgrades have been done.
Bathroom #1.
replace old bathtub, and re-tile around it. Replace old sink/counter/cabinets.
Bathroom #2.
Replace old ugly shower stall. Replace with tile, or get shower unit. base of shower is concrete, and some other owners have experienced difficulty removing the concrete base. Replace sink/counter/cabinets. Add bathroom fixtures like towel hangers. Re-paint walls. Possibly re-do flooring. Remove and replace large mirror.
We are seniors and the bathtub/shower combo does not work for us. We would like to have a full shower put in the place of the bathtub area. I have some very specific concerns with this project and ideas for this. I would appreciate if I could get a estimate and appointment to go over what my needs are.
I know it's difficult to say without seeing the site, but our budget is less than $5000. We had another contractor email us back saying that their typical bathroom was between $15000-$20000. I don't want to waste anyone's time by having estimates for a project that would be way beyond our scope. If you'd be willing to come take a look, that would be great.
Here are some details:
It's a downstairs bathroom.
Completely gutted to the framing, outside insulation is intact.
Items needed: pre-formed shower installation, toilet, vanity, mirror/medicine cabinet, possibly some shelving in the corner, drywall, flooring, ventilation for shower.
Measurements of bathroom: 90" deep, 74" wide.
Thanks for your time.
Hello I'm looking for help with an already started bathroom renovation. The Bathroom has had a new tub already installed and a wall surround. The bathroom requires new drywall and some fixing of the plumbing( shower heads and faucets), it will also require new flooring, cabinet/sink, vanity and lighting. there are 1.5 bathrooms in the house. Thank you. I can provide more pictures and details.
in the midst of a home renovation and I need a bathroom torn out. the vanity is already gone but i need the floor and walls removed along with a tub and toilet. existing tub and toilet are only about 8 years old.
Materials would only have to be brought to the side of the house. Its not a big job, can probably been done in a day or less.
Timeline would be as soon as possible.
Thanks,
Bryan
House built 1962--need a vanity installed, old oversink inset mirror removed, new mirror installed, new tile, approx 50sq ft--tap and plumbing adjusted, new chandelier/lamp mounted and hung and baseboards installed, The old inset mirror/medi cabinet needs removal and drywalling. The demolition has to be done first and we want that included in price
Replace tub with new shower. Walk-in, very modern, granite tile, glass doors, new shower fixtures
New vanity, sink and Granite counter
Leak - recent leak in plumbing to shower. We can fit it. Might need to change floor wood to avoid mold
Floor - might include in project or DIY
I started on a bathroom reno a little while ago and realized I had bit off more than I could chew. I'm super busy with work and school and just don't have the time to finish. I started one of my bathrooms and had a new shower tiled in and new tile floor (challenging colours to work with: redish shower with charcoal floor), but still need to put in a vanity, sink/faucet, mirror, new lights and need to paint. I also have a second bathroom that needs some touch up work and new lights to match the first bathroom. Would love to get something started asap, so if you would be able to tackle a job like this, please e-mail me or call me. Thanks you very much!
Damien
I have attached a pdf with photos of the current bathroom, fixtures we like, and an mock-up of general what we’d like. ( hope it makes sense Im a graphic designer not a draftsperson)
Other things of note:
We have the tile for the floor already purchased (1” white ceramic hexagons), back when I thought I could do this my self.
I’d like pot lights in the roof.
Right now the ventilation fan and the lights are on 1 switch id like them to be separated into 2.
Our home is old and has very poor insulation, so a big part of this would be to reinsulate before the drywalling.
In the mock up you’ll see tan lines those are to be floating wooden shelves. (Optimally oak) one about the door, one below the window, and 4 beside the mirror. With the bottom one being about twice as deep. Witch is as deep as the sink, so it kinda makes a counter top.
As you can see from the photos, our cabinet is set in Id like to keep that and expand it.
Essentially we’d like to gut the room its a 5’ by 8’ wish space, this is our only bathroom so it needs to be functional. Out home was made in 1948, and we care a great deal for it, and want to be here for as long as posable.
We’ed love to talk to you further if this seems like a good fit. I will not that this is our first not done my me renovation so if it seems like I don’t know what I'm doing its because I don’t (:
