early 80's original bathroom on 2nd floor.
Using existing space, needs new tub/shower unit, new counter, vanity, and 2 sinks/fixtures. Replace old fan and existing light fixture. Add new light to bath/shower area. New flooring. Need to upgrade plug ins (safety).
New toilet in fall 07 does not need replacement.
Bathroom used by 4 teenaged kids- desperatley needs an overhaul!
Bathroom is approx. 8.5' x 8' x 7.5'. There is a closet as well. I need all new water-resistant drywall (incl. ceiling). There will probably be some minor ductwork repair needed for the fan as well.
Optional for quote: New surround for the tub/shower - tile or solid surround.
We have a small bathroom dating from 1978. It's baby-barf yellow & needs replacement. We will be keeping the basic layout of the bathroom the same but we will need new tub, toilet, tile, cabinets & flooring. We will also need some drywall work done as there are built in medicine cabinets that we want removed & replaced with flat mirrors. As well, we'll need minor electrical work done to move the lighting, which is currently in the ceiling, either moved to the wall over the sink or replaced with pot-lighting.
This is the only full bathroom in the house so we need it back in use as soon as possible. Preferrably a day or two for the tub - the sink, cabinets, lighting & toilet we can live without for a while longer. While we're not in a huge hurry to start the project we will be in a hurry once the bathroom is out of service.
We are also trying to control costs and are willing to do as much as possible to keep things fairly inexpensive. We can do our own tear out & final touches like paint and decorating. We just need the basic installation done by someone who knows what they are doing.
Thank you!

Hello, we are looking to obtain a free estimate for bathroom renovations. For our senior folk who need to have their bedroom bathroom (shower and vanity and bathroom floor area) redone...as well as the main upstairs bathroom. Also looking for estimated timelines to start project. Hoping to commence this fall if possible (September would be great).
Thanks in advance.
Partial Bathroom reno
Needed: remove and replace current ceramic tile floor with either new ceramic tile or lino, install baseboards and trim on window, trim on "pony" wall (ledge) running around bathroom perimeter(molding is fine) hang closet door for towel closet, correct botched pedestal sink install, finish work on bulkhead for claw foot tub "surround" Possible painting as well. Would be ok with finish work on the surround to just be drywalled and plastered and made ready for painting. Capping this area off in wood trim would also be alright if feasable, will discuss during viewing.
This house was bulit in the 50's and at some point (I am guessing 15-20 years) the bathroom was rennovated. It is a small bathroom, the number one issue other than being outdated (vanity, lighting, floor, etc.) is the window in the shower. The framing around the window inside is wooden & rotten and water damage has occured to that wall, the drywall in probably the entire shower area will have to be replaced. The drywall area behind the toilet also has some water damage. I have had a few people come to look at it, give us quotes and offer solutions as I would like to keep the natural light in the bathroom but do not want continued water issues. Just to make it a bit more fun this is the only bathroom currently in our home so it has to remain as functional as possible (definitely working toilet at least) throught the reno. If it is more effective for us to purchase the vanity, toilet, etc. and bring it for you to do the install that is possible but please reflect that in your quote. Aslo please ensure the quote indicates your possible window solution.
We have 3 bathrooms that we are looking to renovate.
1)has been demoed down to the studs.
Will need dry wall installed, plumbing may be required, shower install, flooring laid (hexagonal tile) and a fan installed (there was no fan previously)
2)Remove current shower tub (tiled walls) and replace with tub and surround insert, new shower/bath faucets, removal and patch of medicine cabinet insert, removal of vanity, tile flooring (hexagonal tile)
3)remove current shower (tiled surround) install new shower and new tile surround, move existing floor vent (if possible), tile flooring (hexagonal tile)
Good day,
We are re-doing our basement bathroom. There is currently a drain installed for the shower, however we would like to relocate it about 6 inches closer to the wall to accommodate a stand up shower. This would involve chipping the concrete and re laying concrete on the floor. The floor is tilled with ceramic tiles. We would also need water pipes run to the shower as there are none currently.
The bathroom basement is done besides that, it is approximately 8X8 feet with drop ceiling. One wall is an outside wall. We would also like to get a ceiling fan installed.
I am looking to renovate 50 ft sq bathroom in my home
replace 30"x60" bathtub with shower & glass door and subway tile shower wall surround
replace WC, vanity unit & sink
floor tile after removing existing laminate
replace existing mirror, light fixture and exhaust fan.
install new bathroom cabinets & repaint walls
Will supply IKEA vanity unit, sink & faucet, bathroom cabinets, mirror, light fixture and exhaust fan.
The upstairs bathroom in our bungalow in Pleasantview needs to be redone. The house was built in 1961.
I will be doing the demolishing work down to the studs, but am unsure if I will be able to remove the tub myself. As such I'm thinking the site will be down to sub-floor and studs, with the tub remaining.
The size of the bathroom is 94.375" X 59.125" (38.75 square feet).
There is a window with dimensions of 34" X 33 3/8" that we'd like to replace with glass bricks.
Here are the other details (what needs to be done):
- replace window with glass bricks
- install toilet, sink, bathtub
- plumbing for toilet, sink, bathtub
- ceramic tile floor
- ceramic tile the walls surrounding the bathtub
- small tile backsplash around the sink
We will be purchasing the materials and bringing them to the site, with the exception of the tub.
That is all that I can think of for the moment.
Thanks,
Tyler and Erin
We have a partially gutted and refinished bathroom (new flooring, sink/vanity and toilet that we installed), but the tub and surround is beyond our abilities.
The tub is small and old with heavy surface damage, but appears structurally sound and water tight. The tile surround has been removed. The bathroom is very small, and removing and replacing the tub is probably more bother than it's worth. We're looking for someone who can do a tub liner and custom surround for us, and install the faucet/hand shower we've already purchased.
There's a large window, quite low set, that will need to be reframed with PVC framing or otherwise dealt with in order to use the tub enclosure as a shower without causing water damage.
Hello,
I am curious as to what you would quote for a bathroom renovation. The bathroom is fairly small - approx 6ft by 9ft - and the new tub, toilette and sink have already been acquired. I'm looking to have someone take care of the demolition, put in new walls, install the new bath, toilette and sink and tile the floor and area around the tub and seal everything. I can take care of the painting and decoration after that.
My house is 100 yrs old, the bathroom is located in an addition that was probably build in the late 60s or 70s. All of the plumbing has been updated however the drain for the tub would probably have to be moved. I am just fishing around to see what it might cost at the moment. I hope this is enough information to give me a "ball-park" quote.
Thank you for your time,
Jeana
I have gutted our main bathroom down to the studs & plywood floor. The bathroom is 12' X 8'.
Work needed:
Tiles: Floor, bathtub/shower surround, back splash
Cabinets: double vanity, approx. 11' long with 2 towers, plus a narrow stand alone tower.
Plumber: Install everything, switch copper to PEX, move toilet over by about 3'.
Electrical: run line & install thermostat for heated flooring.
Hello,
My wife and I would like to rejuvinate our (tiny) main bathroom by for sure installing a ceramic tile floor, and looking at replacing the tub and crumbling tile surround with a more modern soaker-type tub and one-piece surround.
The bathroom has two entrances, and is about 9' x 5' in size (45 sq ft), and is currently covered in a non-waterproof lamimate installed by the previous owner. The tub takes up a big part of the space in the bathroom, the actual floor space is closer to 5-1/2' x 5'. We're not looking to rearrange the fixtures, just replace and upgrade what is there. We would already have the fixtures (except the tub) out of the bathroom before starting this job.
The room is rectangular, with the long sides on the north and south sides. The tub is is against the west wall, and the vanity is on the east. The two doors are roughly aligned with each other, and are on the north and south walls towards the east wall.
The house was built in 1923 but remodelled significantly in the early 1980s, and I think that's when this tub is from.
I was about to have my bathroom renovated when the contractor cancelled. It is a full reno for an 83" x 58" bathroom. I have the majority of items necessary (tile, tub, toilet, vanity etc). I am in urgent need of having this reno completed by mid-November.
Here is a list of what needs to be done:
• Demo existing bathroom.
• Installation of tile on floor and shower surround.
• Resurfacing of plaster wall around tub.
• Paint (walls & ceiling).
• Installation of new medicine cabinet, towel holders.
• Repair kitchen and bathroom plumbing
• Install shower, tub and fixtures (faucets, shower bar, shampoo shelves).
• Installation of new vanity, sink and fixtures.
• Installation of bathroom fan.
• Installation of countdown timers for both bathrooms.
• Installation of new kitchen sink.
