The site is in the basement. The old shower was removed. Have a 5 ft opening for tub and shower walls (already purchased). I need to move some framing and plumbing. New floor needed. Replace toilet (already purchased). Need it to be finished.
Can you kindly quote this project for me?
Thanks,
Chris
We live in Calgary and have a condo in Edmonton - Garden Grove (Duggan area) that we rent out. The condo is old, likely 40 plus years. Apparently there is a pretty serious leak as the tenant says water comes down through the kitchen light and the bathroom floor is getting soft. Since this is a rental property, we don't want to go high end, but need it fixed properly to avoid future issues. The entire bathroom needs to be redone, cabinets, faucets, tub, tiles, lights, flooring. We might be able to save the toilet as it was new about 4 years ago. As there is a tenant, it would have to be done as quickly as possible, with the least disruption to the tenant's life. There is a half bath they can use, but no other tub/shower.
project site: small-ish bathroom in older home in west-central Edmonton. There is a small access panel for the bathtub plumbing.
concerns: almost certainly a moisture issue under the bathtub and possibly under the linoleum (bathroom has window, but no venting fan)
project tasks:
1. gut the bathroom (remove old tub, hideous plastic tub-surround, vanity, linoleum)
2. move door/door frame a few inches towards wall (to make room for larger width vanity than currently possible (18")
3. install venting fan that goes through outside side wall (we have vermiculite in attic that we don't want to disturb by venting through the roof). Venting to outside will presumably require a bit of carpentry to create a "lowered ceiling" over the tub area, through which the fan can vent. Installation will include wiring of fan to its own switch next to the light switch.
4. replace drywall around bathtub on the presumption that it will be/is ruined and/or is not the correct moisture-proof material
5. install new bathtub
6. ensure wall and floor is structurally sound and prepared for installation of tiles
HOMEOWNERS WILL FINISH RENO: ALL TILE & FLOORING INSTALLATION, PAINTING, VANITY AND TOILET INSTALLATION, AND LIGHTING. IN THE EVENT THAT ONE-MAN CREW IS SENT, HOMEOWNER IS AVAILABLE TO ASSIST WITH MOVING NEW BATHTUB INTO PLACE (bathroom is slightly more than tub-width, and those tubs are heavy!)
We are wanting to add a half bathroom in our basement. Plumbing needs to be put in. The water meter needs to be moved approx 6 inches. The area has the stack for the upstairs bathroom and the drain in the basement floor. The house was built in 1979. The area of the basement is small, so we are trying to maximize the little space we have.
Our house is 1964, and the bathroom still has aqua green tub and toilet, which will need replacing. The tiles also have to go. The room is 10'6x7, but some of that is closet. I would really like a 66" 0r 72" tub and also a shower, and the room is small, but we could look at using the closet next door....probably a major undertaking? I can imagine possibly a tub surround or tiles with a combined tub and shower. The bathroom lower cabinet and sink is ok, I think. The upper cabinet needs replacing. The floor will need redoing. I love the idea of a heated floor with tile. The walls and ceiling need repair and paint and the fan need replacing.
I have a 50sq ft bathroom, only bathroom with a tub/shower. I would like to have a new white acrylic, tub with a tiled tub surrround c/w corner shelves,, tiled electrically heated floor with same tile for baseboard, new vanity and corian counter top, small cupboard above vanity in the corner, lights over the tub area and over the vanity, exhaust fan, new 6 panel door, new vinyl clad window, brushed nickle fixtures, wand type shower head.
We have discovered mold behind the walls of our small downstairs bathroom (purchased house 1 month ago, built in the 50's).
We will need to remove and replace dryall from 4 walls and reframe 1 wall as the studs are wet and moldy. Remove and replace stand-up shower, remove and replace tile on walls and floor, and add a bathroom fan
This home was built in 1955. It has a small bathroom (10 X6).
I need to remodel the whole bathroom. The renovation would include the following:
Moving a non- weight bearing wall (to properly accommodate a modern bath tub).
Replacing the dry wall (mud, tape and painting)
Installing tile
Installing flooring (preferably slate)
Installing a ceiling fan. There`s on there now, but it`s not installed properly
replacing the tub & sink,
replacing the window
Remove wall to extend 2nd floor bathroom. Install 72 x 36 shower with customer supplied tile, with mosaic trim, niche and seat. Install customer supplied toilet and vanity and all hardware. Relocate bathroom entrance. Install customer supplied floor tile. Drain will need to be installed for shower and slight relocation of sink plumbing. Contractor to supply framing materials, drywall, 36" glass door, mortar, grout, etc.
Bathroom is orginal in a home built in 1981.
Need to replace walls - mositure - may need to also replace gyp rock and insultation
Relace tub surronds - and posbily tub
Would like to replace toliet with more effecient model or 2 flush model
Replace vinal flooring
If can accomplish replace vanity - mirror and lighting.
Currently have a 105 year old home with a bathroom in much need of a reno. Looking for design to make it more functional. Some fixtures already chosen such as new vanity and toilet already replaced. Tile is currently on walls and needs to be removed and replaced with new drywall, replace with new flooring tile and likely rip out sub floor and ensure all piping is to code and replace the sub floor. Currently has a claw foot tub but looking for recommendations of replacement with newer look with tub +shower insert. Roof is not square but with a curve which will require custom materials for the tub.
I have a small half-bathroom en-suite with a second entrance I want altered. Currently the second entrance has some small steps down outside it, and we would like to extend the current bathroom over these steps, thus removing the second entrance altogether. We then wish to install a steam shower in the newly enlarged space. The steam shower will require some electrical work, and we have an electrician available to do that part of the work already.
Please contact me via email or telephone if you wish to come and inspect the site for an estimate. We would like to start and finish the work as soon as possible, and that will be factored into our decision.
Current condition of bathroom - Hardwood floors with toilet that leaks and has significantly damaged the floors as well as the walls and carpeted floor in basement below.
House was built in 1975
Bathroom square footage is approx. 22 sq. ft.
We would like to replace both the toilet and the sink, as well as the floor.
Currently there is a wood vanity with marble sink top, however we are considering putting in a pedestal sink to replace. We are also considering putting in a different type of flooring (instead of the hardwood), possibly tile.
We would like to ensure the old "fixtures" (sink, toilet etc.) would be removed by contractor.
If possible, we would like the project finished by Xmas - I selected quality as the "Main Concern" above, however time is important also.
This project is in high Rise Co-op. It's a small space with odd configurations. It may have to be gutted first.
I need a new comfort height toilet, new flooring( not ceramic), new custom(probably) cabinetry with a high counter top (maybe slate, granite or ceramic tiles),new undermounted sink and faucet. Corner shower may need to be taken out and a new tiled(ceramic) area put in. Also tiling of walls (slate or granite or ceramic) to height of countertop and backsplash. I'll need light fixtures, storage and towel, toilet, face cloth bars. Currently the bathroom is in very good shape but 20 years old(original to the building).
Small bathroom to renovate. replace tub, toilet and sink (possibley vanity and cupboard). Replacing surrounding tile and floor tile. All fixtures are original (1987). There are signs of what we think is water damage as the tile on the floor is warping and lifting. Bathtub area may need drywall replaced as well due to water damage - not sure. We have not yet purchased any fixtures and are looking for advice on this as well. start date for reno as soon as possible. We would like to assist if possible to keep costs down and if there is prep work we can do to make things go quicker we can do this. budget of $2000-$2500. Thank you.
Hello,
My wife and I are looking to renovate our main floor bathroom. Its not a very big room (5' x 6' perhaps), but we are looking to replace the tub, add a vanity with new sink and maybe some cabinetry. We also want to replace the existing lino with ceramic tile, though we may consider doing that part ourselves.
Our home was built in the '50s, but has had renovations since. The basement was recently finished before we bought the home, so we would now like to upgrade the main floor bath to complement the rest of the house.
Any information you can provide as towards a rough estimate and/or time line would be greatly appreciated. Obviously, if you need to see the room first to discuss options then we certainly can arrange that. I look forward to hearing from you.
Joe
I want to convert the basement bathroom into a Jacuzzi for a house that I have just purchased. We were looking for houses with a Jacuzzi already installed. We found a house that my wife and I really like but it did not have a Jacuzzi, so we are looking into the possibility of installing a Jacuzzi in the already finished basement.
1960 Ottewell Bungalo needs small upstairs bathroom renovated Incudes installing new Jacuzi tub with hand held spray and easy to clean tub surround ( large window above tub). Install new toilet requires new flange. Install new sink and vanity, mirror with cabinet. New bathroom fan and update plug in and lights Bathroom is approx. 9 feet by 5 feet. Existing jacuzi tub is approx. 59" by 31". Decorative design ideas i.e, paint color and backsplash required to modernize and make this small space bright and appealing. I have been the property owner for 25 years and would like the reno to increase the resale value of my house in proportion to the cost of this reno.
House is approx. 25 yrs. old with one original bathroom (tub/shower combo) that we would like to completely have re-done. Tiolet, sink and new laminate flooring was put in about 8 years ago but we would like to redo everything with the exception of replacing the tiolet. . Renos to be done follows: Current tub, tile, flooring (laminate), vanity countertop / cabinet, backsplash, medicine cabinet, all faucets removed and replaced with new items. Vanity to be custom built in oak as it is approx. 57 inches in length and we would like to have one exact in length. Countertop to be replaced with new granite or possibly laminate that has built in sink, therefore old sink to be removed as well. Backsplash to be redone in tile / granite. Tub to be replaced with deeper soaker model, with front of tub framed in and then covered in tile which will be matching to new flooring tile. New set of glass shower doors also to be installed along with entire tub area to be done in tile. All new faucets to be installed including hand held shower and taps in tub area. Towel bar and toilet paper roll to be taken off of current wall and moved to a different position. Holes in walls need to be repaired and then entire bathroom needs to be painted. There is a few specks of mold in the corner of the bathroom ceiing, which has been treated with bleach so I believe some of that area would need to be replaced. We would like to have someone come in during the timeframe of July 11 - 19 to have the work done.
I'm looking to gut my bathroom completely. I have mould growing in behind some of the walls and need to get everything replaced. I would like new floors, ceiling, paint, cabinets, shower/tub, mirrors, lights, faucets & toilet. I'm also looking into redoing my kitchen and floors throughout. Please contact me for further details. Only contractors who are insured and bonded need apply.
