We recently moved into our house and unfortunately we had a flood in our basement. It was caused due to the plug of the sump pump having become unplugged because some tile was stacked and placed against the plug in by the movers and then it rained...a lot. We like to be positive about things however, and look at this as an opportunity as we did not like the carpet or the paint colour down there anyway.
As the carpet has been torn out along with some drywall we thought we would look at putting in a bathroom in our basement. We do not have anything roughed-in. We are looking to get the bathroom fully or partially done by outside parties as we may do the painting and tiling ourselves. The house is about 4 years old and is in Cameron heights.
We would appreciate quotes from those companies that enjoy what they do, are insured, bonded and those who can keep an appointment.
Sincerely,
Pamela and Michael
Forty year-old house. Main bathroom tub/shower enclosure is currently tiled in 3x3 green/white swirled tiles (total area covered is 29 x 13 tiles = 377 tiles). Grouting has darkened and begun to peel to the point that one tile has now seperated from the wall. Damage to the drywall behind the tile is now apparent with black stains and crumbling drywall (note that this damage appears to be limited to the bottom of the bottom-most row of tiles). Some drywall damage (just minor buckling) is also visable outside the bottom corner of the tile row near the showerhead. This drywall damage is beside the tiles, not under the tiles. In addition to the tile problem, the bathroom walls are are covered in wallpaper and the ceiling in white paint. The paint is peeling and the wallpaper edges are curling. This project will require the removal of all tiles and wallpaper, sanding of the ceiling, the repair of the walls damaged by the moisture, the replacement of the bathroom tiles and the painting of the entire bathroom (i.e. the wallpaper is to be replaced by paint). The bathroom is 7' X 7.5' with a 2' X2.5' outside closet pushing in one corner. This work must be completed as soon as possible as the tile damage makes the shower unusable.

4. Tile the bathtub/shower stall
5. Install new bathroom fan. (No fan exists now)
I will supply all materials.

Planning to renovate the ensuite bathroom in a highrise condominium built in 1977. The condo has had renovations to the bathroom sometime in the past 5-7 years. New floor is ceramic tile that matches master bedroom. A deep tub has been installed that is unsafe for users, so want to remove the tub entirely and replace it with a shower. Seeking a walk-in, tiled shower (stone or ceramic) with glass doors and rainfall fixtures. Also considering new toilet and additional lighting to complete the bathroom. Dimensions available after February 1, 2011. Seeking high standards and guaranteed workmanship for worry-free use.
The caulking and tub surround in one of our bathrooms was cracked and the drywall behind it was damaged.
We've removed the surround and the drywall, but need someone to replace with concrete board, tile the walls and, if possible, build in shelves and add some plumbing upgrades. Depending on the renovations, some painting may be needed. It's a small bathroom renovation but we'd like to ensure that it's done properly. Attached are two photos of what the room looks like now.
We've found tile that we like, but are open to design suggestions as well.
The bathroom is small and the area being worked on is only the tub (although I'd possibly want the sink faucet and other bathroom hardware replaced to match the tub and some shelves may need to be installed).
This is the first small project of many in our home, and we'd like to find a reasonable, reliable contractor open to future small projects. We looking for a professional with guaranteed satisfaction.
We live in south Edmonton, have several pets in the home and can have tradesmen in on weekdays or weekends. Payment in cash is available if preferred.
Hello
I currently own a condo and it was requested that a vent be put in the bathroom as there are currently no active or passive venting system in the bathroom to relief the moisture during use. It is the top floor of the condo, so would like to get an idea of how big of a project/cost this would be to install a vent or a fan into the bathroom.
If anyone can provide quotes on site, that would be great as well.
Thanks you
Tue

Hello, I am looking to re-model my main floor bathroom. It's 6ft by 9ft. Everything in it would need to be removed and disposed of and new bath, toilette and sink/vanity installed. I would also like the bath plumbing rearranged and possibly the sink. Basically a complete overhaul.
The house is 100 years old and the bathroom is an addition added some time later... I am looking for a "no surprises" quote and if possible would like to complete the project for under $10,000. I realize that I probably won't get marble floors and granite counter tops in that price range and I'm ok with that :). As I have never hired a contractor before I am looking to get a couple of "in home consultations" to decide which company I should go with. I am hoping to start the project in September/ October and am ready to hire and book immediately.
Send me an email or give me a call if you would be interested in taking on this project!
Thanks
Jeana
Hello hello!
I am in the beginning stages of planing a bathroom Reno in my condo! It is a 3 piece bathroom, with a tub shower that has a window in it. I am worried that there isn't proper drainage at the window site and fear there is water damage. We want the bathroom pretty well gutted and re done. I will have the majority of the finishes purchased prior to starting, and may have some of the demo work done as well.
Thanks so much for your time!
Michelle
I am in a ground floor condo, built around 1965. I would like a new bathtub or bathtub liner installed. The shower tiles need to be removed/replaced with a shower surround. Bathroom floor needs to be retiled. Walls need to be repaired/painted. The walls are plaster, and not on wooden lathe but on a metal mesh surface. This is the only bathroom so I would need to have access to the bathroom throughout renovation if possible.
Thanks, I look forward to hearing from you!
