We have a new house in SW Edmotnon that requires the establishment of an innovative drain from the garage roof across an 10-foot sidewalk. After exploring all of the options, including a trellis, we’ve decided to extend the concrete on our first step (see attached picture) to accommodate a 4” pipe or a half-pipe with a grate.
We require someone with proven experience installing specialized concrete drain projects on estate homes. References will be required and pictures of previous pertinent projects will be appreciated.
We recognize that this time of year is a challenge for outdoor concrete so heating may be required to ensure the concrete cures properly. We are also open to having this work completed in the spring if absolutely necessary, but our preference is to proceed ASAP if this small job can be done properly in fall conditions.
Please contact me to arrange an appointment to review this project and discuss further.
Looking to have these old concrete steps removed. Also looking to redo a rough grade for the underside of the stairs as a lot of dirt is missing. You can bid on just the stair removal or both.
I will also be adding in a new deck once these stairs are removed, if you offer both services in a bundled price that would be great but not required, still deciding on size but thinking 12x12 with stairs pressure treated.
Looking to be done this summer.
We have an about 3m*3m*25cm concrete walk pad (with rebar inside) need to be broken apart and put portion of them on the next vacant land.
Detailed works:
1. break the concrete pad and cut the rebar
2. move portion of the broken concrete to the next vacant land so that the concrete debris and the building foundation wall (and its extending line) can have at least 2m space apart.
3. leave the concrete debris on the vacant land next. No need to haul it away.
Please refer to the pic for reference.
Reply the post, I will give you the address if you want to go to the site to have a look.
Driveway pad is in the back alley. I haven't measured it but it is about 20 ft by 16 ft. (Just an estimate). There is a double garage and the concrete extends past the sides. The current driveway is cracked and has started to sink in spots. It needs to be replaced.
Front steps have crumbled. Two steps and a landing. Landing is approximately 7 ft by 5 ft (again an estimate). The steps are probably original on a 45 year old bungalow.
I am hoping that this work can be done in this season, preferably in July or August. I will require documentation of licenses, WCB coverage, etc. as well as at least 2 references.
The room size is around 450 square feet and we are looking at needing a few things done. One is we need to take out a basement window (roughly 37 inches x 12.5 inches) and cement it up. We also have two other identical windows that we are considering lowering and making slightly larger. Additionally we need to put up dry wall and get it finished and install a door that is 36 inches wide to our laundry room.
We have some prices on what supplies should cost for new windows, doors and dry wall - we are wondering about labor.
We're in the process of preparing a bid to do a construction of a car wash in southwest Edmonton and we're wondering if you may be interested in doing the cribbing for the pilings and slab?
The car wash is going to be a 10 bay wand wash with a single auto wash bay on one side. The building will be a steel construction with overhead doors at either end - we have available a drawing of the proposed car wash for your reference if you would like to see it.
For pilings we'll need 12 - 24€ round x 25' deep for the main building and 3 - 18€ round x 12' deep for exterior wall of the auto wash bay structure. The slab for the main building will be 110' x 54' and the slab for the auto wash building will be 18' x 30'.
We are also going to need a 4' grade beam with a 3' pony wall (7' in total) around the entire building and auto wash bay. There will be a 12' overhead door and a man door at either end of the main building. There will also be a man door going from the main building through the wall into the auto wash bay. The auto wash bay will have a 10' overhead door at either end.
Thank you,
Jill
Front stairs are about 40 years old and have deteriorated to the point that they are unusable and very dangerous. Have roped them off. What is the cost to remove same and also have new stairs (concrete preferably) installed.
Any discounts for seniors? The AB Gov't used to give $5,000 to seniors in need of home repairs. Now, with the new budget, the Ab Gov't will lend seniors funds at a low interest rate and subsequently place a lien against their home. This will be settled upon the sale of the home.
I really do need a cost effective solution to this problem.
Thank you for taking the time to answer this query.
Home build in 2006 -
- driveway has significant spawling
- garage pad appears to have heave or improper slope on the front lip - allowing outside water to drain into the garage
- garage pad slopes to the sides - pooling water at the sides of the garage pad
- garage pad has no drain - and is designed to slope forward (4") to drain water out of the garage
Extend west side of existing driveway: width 18' length 31' wrap around a tree area with 4' diameter. currently covered with sod.
Eastside walkway along the garage: width 4' length 30'. currently cover with pebbles.
-Excavate and remove sod/dirt/gravel from the area
-Install a layer of crushed gravel/road crush and stamp
-Rebar installed and dowelled into the existing driveway/garage wall
-Concrete framed, poured and broom finish.
I would like a driveway pad of 20 feet wide and 24 feet long (for the main driveway) with an extended area of concrete of 8 feet (approx). the extended area will be 8 feet at one end slanted, to 6 feet at the other end. (in total one end will be 24 + 6= 30 feet long and the other end 24 + 8 = 32 feet long).
THe other idea I have is to remain with the 20 X 24 and have gravel to finish the driveway. THe back yard is built on an angel which makes one end shorter than the other. THe 24 feet must be 2.75 feet from the property line. The extra 6 or 8 feet (approx) is the distance left from the concrete to the property line. This could be concrete or gravel. I would like suggestions.
Price is always a factor, however, quality is a needed issue. THe appearance does not need to be more thaan concrete even if it is coloured.
I have considered interlocking paving stone also. (price)
I have a driveway that leads to an attached garage in the basement with concrete retaining walls on either side.
Work needed:
1. Foundation crack diagonal , it seems that there is settling as well.
2. Driveway leading to garage is cracked in many placing especially around the bottom where it drains.
3. Retaining walls are have cracks and one big one where it attaches to foundation of house.
4. Garage floor has a big crack at entrance.
5. A chunk of the retaining wall at street level is broken off.
I realize it will need maybe two companies, one for foundation repair and one for driveway replacement.
I would like the work done as soon as possible bit before winter snow.
Front Door:
The front door of my house has 3 concrete steps that are covered with a carpet (around 10ft x 6ft). Due to age and melted snow, the carpet is covered with moss. I would like to have the carpet taken away and replaced by a concrete or similar finish. There are two brick flower beds beside the front door steps that could also be removed since they are not being used.
Fence Door:
One of the yard fence door is broken. It needs to be replaced. I have a white wooden fence.
This is a residential house.
I have a pre-fab concrete step (3 steps - approx 40 sq. ft.) leading up to my front door. I recently purchased the Stoneffects product from Home Depot and have completed step 1 as well as the first coat of step 2. What I would like done is for a professional to come and complete the second coat of step 2. As I am not proficient with a trowel I want to make sure the last coat is completely smooth and free of imperfections.
We're need our front steps replaced. We ripped off a deck and removed the original concrete steps that were underneath. We like the look of aggregate concrete steps but are unsure of the advantages/disadvantages/cost compared to going with building a set of steps using composite. Also looking to have an aggregate concrete walkway from the steps to the driveway poured.
I require that a concrete set of steps and associate porch be removed from the front of my house to be replaced with a new set of steps. This will also involve putting in a short sidewalk and fixing the grading next to the house where we have had some water accumulation and seepage into the basement.
The house is a 1968 bungalow in south Edmonton and there is easy access to the worksite.
I wish to replace my furnace, with a more energy efficient model, and when the old furnace is removed, I require cement repair for a crack in my basement floor, which runs under the area occupied by the current furnace. This is a 25-30 year old, two-story, townhouse style, condo. Other concrete type work is also a possibility (depending on total cost) to fill a void beneath my patio. This work will not be started until late spring; as warmer weather would be a necessity for surviving without a furnace.

It is necessary to begin this work as soon as possible.
- Construction of a concrete pad for a 24' x 24' double detached garage. Presently, the proposed site for the garage has a mix of soil / sod, 8 small tree stumps and a small wooden fence, all which will need to be dug up during the excavation process. Need to get the work done next month in September.
Good afternoon,
I have an older garage, best guess is a 1960-ish build. The garage itself is in decent enough condition, but the pad is broken into about 9 pieces and sunk around the perimeter. It's sunk about 6-8". Can the concrete be lifted ( & in turn the garage brought back up with it?)
I am open to suggestions.
Thanks,
Chris
28x40 garage built on pad. Pad is heavily cracked and settled in one corner. Looking to get the entire floor redone and footings added, requiring garage to be lifted and set back down.
Garage has a mandoor and standard double wide door on one side, and two separate single garage doors on the opposite side. Trussed roof (some trusses appear to have some cracks)
Interior drywall/insulation will likely need to be removed, I can arrange to have that completed prior to work starting.
Garage has u/g gas and power running to it, conduit is under the driveway attaching to it.
Garage is located in Montrose neighborhood, has rear alley access as well as front driveway access. Looking to arrange quotes for now and schedule work to begin next spring/summer.
