Two tiered cedar deck at the back of the house needs maintenance/repairs: wooden beams got rotten in about 8-10 places, and there are holes. The whole deck could be repainted. Wooden mesh, surrounding the deck, should be fixed and reinforced, pets proof. Ramp for small dogs could be installed on top of stairs, width 43-44 cm.
Hi, we just got possession of our new house and are looking for quotes on having the deck repaired.
It is a larger deck. Its two levels, with a 1 foot difference between the two levels.
The planks appear to originally have been 2x6, but now are more like 1.5x5.5.
There are only two planks that need to be removed and replaced, but the whole deck needs to have the paint stripped, and then be painted.
The top level is roughly 192x192 and the bottom is roughly 150x160
We are available this week if you want to take a look at it. We want to have the work done before May 20.
Thanks
My patio deck wood in the floor seems to be breaking and the railing in the corner has been brunt by barbecue fire before we bought. I also need the stairs removed and fixed at another point. I have a water drain running through my yard which needs to get covered too.
If my budget permits I want a privacy screen fixed on my patio.
Deck built initially with the house - approximately 8 years old. Trex boards with pressure treated wood underneath. Sitting on concrete piles. Now the deck is sinking - the side attached to the house is ok but the side sitting on the lawn is sinking. No rails around deck - only 3 steps surrounding 2 sides. Need to repair deck - do we need new piles, is the trex boards warrentied?
Deck Repair:
Existing about 30 year old Wooden deck with plywood deck surface covered with indoor/outdoor carpet. Plywood is rotting and developed some soft spots; needing replacement of the deck surface with new maintenance free material like composite boards. Beams, joists and foundation in good shape and so are the wrought iron railngs. Size of the deck: approximately 8' x 12' plus 3' x 5' extension.
30 year old wooden deck need the plywood deck surface covered with indoor/outdoor carpet removed and reinstall new composite deck boards installed. Approx. area: 115 sq.ft.Beams, joists, foundations and railings are in very good condition and do not need replacement.
Hello - A couple of years ago, I had the upstairs deck replaced. It was long overdue and in addition, the drainage needed fixing since water was leaking into the garage directly located below the deck. Everything seemed to be okay until this spring when the leaking started again. I can not have the garage ceiling repaired until the leaking stops. Thank you.
We have a 22 yr. old rotting 4-level deck that extends the entire back of the house, with built-in planters surrounding the entire deck. We would like to have a more open concept, with fewer levels, and a few built-in planters plus, a place for the BBQ. Perhaps a spot for a hot tub.
The existing deck has rotten plywood on top of 2x6's, looking to have the plywood replaced with Composite decking. Total sq feet is approx. 400, measurements are 26Ft long by 16+Ft wide. The existing 2x6's do not need replacing, just need the top redone. The railings and steps are also in good shape. Hoping to get it done quickly and get a cost for material and labour. The product I'm hoping to have installed is what I know as capped, which has grooves down the side of the board which clip into the bracket installed. We are located in SE Edm.
Hello,
I are looking to have a 22' x 14' deck resurfaced with a composite product as well as an extension to the deck of 20' x 15'.
The existing deck (22' x 14') is framed up on top of an existing concrete pad, therefore it only requires the boards replaced.
The extension area (20' x 15') will require footings as well as framing as well as the surface boards.
Because there are a number of trees in the yard, I am looking for a product that is interlocking, so pine needles do not get trapped in between boards as is the case with the existing cedar boards. As I am not familiar with products on the market, other than Trex, suggestions would be needed.
I have some old stairs that are rotting away leading up to the back of the house/deck. I need them to be replaced as they pose a danger to people using them. It should be fairly straight forward I think. Just need something simple and effective. Will upload pictures in the near future. Stairs form an L shape.
I am looking for someone who can build me a deck of size ~15x~18 Feet attached to the house. I am planning to use Trex or Cedar with Aluminum railing, somehow integratingclick here railings into the design.
The deck would be 3-6 feet of the gound.
I have a small uncovered deck that is 20 yrs old. It needs some upgrade work as I am in the process of applying for a building permit (the house has been sold and since it did not have a building permit at the time that it was built, I am requiring one now in order to meet compliance with the City of Edmonton). An engineering report has been done and is available to the contractor. This report specifically states what needs to be done. I am the former owner and I live in St. Paul but the current owner is now living in the house and is aware of this work that needs to be done.
Looking for a quote for a 16 ft (length) by 10 ft (wide) deck. We would like composite deck (trex, moisture shield etc) with white aluminum railing. We anticipate we will require 4 risers. We would like a walnut colour for the deck.
We are looking to have this done as soon as possible.
Screw piles are already in place. This is for a new home construction. We are the property owners/builders.
Thank you.
Approximate size: 14x10
Elevation: just above grade. The job will require less than three steps from the sliding door, hence will not require permit pulled.
Preferred materials for deck option: composite lumber or cedar. NO pressure treated lumber
Preferred materials for patio option: reinforced concrete for winter or paving tiles.
Final grade will be fresh, so I will need workers with skills to compensate for softer, unsettled ground.
I am the property owner.

Hi, I have a 10'x22' second-floor deck that did not have a city permit and I need it rectified. From what I can see, I think the following has to be done, along with getting the city permit:
1) two pilings poured
2) Two 6x6 posts to attach to beam
3) Guard re-inforced
We are looking for a patio approximately 400 square ft constructed out of flagstone or pavers, the location is presently a grassed location. Please keep in mind that any equipment used needs to be grass friendly as we do not want to repair the rest of the yard afterwards.
We would like to have this complete by the first week of may if possible as we have the second part of this project arriving then.
