Details: Front balcony, about 22 feet wide, 8 feet deep. Currently has a painted plywood floor, but it needs replacing.
- Save the existing railing
- remove existing plywood sheets
- install new plywood
- add waterproofing membrane?
- top it off with vinyl decking or something else low maintenance.
I have lifted up one panel of the old plywood and it looks good underneath.
West end, near 172 St and 57 Ave
Had someone lined up to do it for $1500 including materials, but he wrecked his knee and is unable to do the job before winter.
This project is a Front Covered Deck on a 60 year home in Parkview.
We are looking for design and budget options. The more options and flexibility in the design and budget the better.
I have posted photo's in the shared drive in the following link with some ideas, and measurements.
If you have questions, require addition information, or would like to set up a meeting please email.
Thank you in advance for your responses.

20 year old deck needs to be replaced. The dimensions are 9'10" long by 6' wide and is 30" above grade. We are looking to use a product that is maintainance free like Moisture Shield in a sandstone color, and white aluminum railing. There is also a corner post to the roof overhang.
This is a small deck that constantly needs repainting due to facing south.
Our home is located in Blackburn
My front deck is holding up a part of the roof. It has moved off the concrete or piling or foundation. The roof will need to be braced for the repair.
I have received five quotes on the project and know the price it should be, however I have asked two contractors to schedule me in and received no response.
I really want to get this repaired properly. It was on our home inspection as an immediate requirement over a year ago. I am concerned without repair continued deterioration will cause the roof to collapse. As it is the deck is uneven
I would like to get an estimate for re-building front entrance porch.
Dimension = 6 x 12 ft. (composite deck)
2-steps = lenght 6ft; hight 2ft.
Aluminum railings.
Deck sides (6ft x 2ft & 12ft.x 2ft.) would like to be done with rock-block finish.
Please find the deck picture attachment.
I am looking for someone to build a porch on the front of my house....1040 square foot bungalow. I would like pot lights in the porch and we are looking at some brick work as well.
My boyfriend will be drawing up the plan and I would like someone to give me an estimate please. We should have the plans drawn up in the next week.
Thank you.
We are looking for quotes to complete supply and install of:
-Sod
-Flower Bed Rocks (looking for 2-4" limestone)
-Fencing
-Deck (14x16ft anticipated)
Currently we have completed final grade with certification, landscape fabric, shrubs and trees installed.
Regarding fence - we only require side fencing (back is already completed by the developer). The fencing must also meet the neighbourhood architectural guidelines.
Much of the old staircase has already been removed. There is still some demolition required, including breaking-up and removing (or using as back-fill, some concrete (see photos). The "boxed-in" area under the foyer is insulated and the new porch should also include insulation replacement. The wrought iron attached to the roof needs to be cut off. We would like a new metal or vinyl railing installed. We also would like to consider expanding the porch surface somewhat (create a "mini deck") if feasible. We are looking for a contractor that can help us with the planning as well as completing the project to provide a quality, attractive, low to no maintenance porch and stairway. We would like to get this done this fall while there are still mild enough days to pour the concrete pilings.
Hello!
We are looking to have a ground level deck built in our backyard. We are open to a few variations, but essentially, we need: (a) a landing at the back door, (b) stairs, and (c) a large rectangular wooden patio.
We imagine a landing at the back door that extends about 3 feet and is about 6 feet wide (the width of the door). From this landing, stairs would descend either directly straight from the back door or to the side along the back of the house to another small landing, at which point the stairs would then turn away from the house (we are considering this second design in order to avoid losing patio and backyard space to the stairs by keeping the stairs close to the house, although the stairs cannot go completely along the back of the house as a result of our fireplace's exterior protrusion, which would interfere--see attached designs).
The patio would be wooden, rectangular, and approximately 10 or 12 feet long and 16 feet wide. We would need railings, as well.
Install hardwood floor in open concept living/dining room (672 square feet). Install treads and risers on 12 steps. Tile ceramic -front door area (60 square feet) and kitchen (100 square feet). Tear down and rebuild outdoor deck. (10x14). It is a 2001 bilevel house.
I am interested in screening in my balcony. Dimensions are as follows:
1 main section @ 73" H X 216€ W
2 side sections @ 96" H X 12" W
If this is something you can help me with (supply &/or install) or should you require any additional information, please shoot me an email.
Thanks in advance.
Would like to take down or expand current deck to a two level. Considering moving back yard hot tub to be included in deck area near patio doors (would be considered the upper portion if becomes a two level). Considering composite deck materials. Would like to also add some shelter over the hot tub area of deck, roof and lattice work perhaps. Open to suggestions.
Hello,
I have a new build 45 minutes west of Edmonton. Hoping to receive quotes for the following services below. Additional details in attached document (Note that the landscaping diagram is conceptual only and may not be to scale). Note also that materials and design can be modified to fit the budget. Please get in touch if interested. Maximum budget will be 20-25K -- but will consider doing priority work first (driveway, deck, fence) or breaking up the work between the right contractors.
Feel free to provide quotes for the full project or individual items:
- Landscaping
- Concrete driveway
- Back deck (approx. 16x16)
- Enclosed / covered deck structure connected to back entrance
- Fence
Thank you for considering.
Sylvia
Would like free estimate/quote on 26x14 or 364sqft Deck both in Cedar and pressure treated wood, aluminium rails, side skirt, and one set of stairs
If possible please post your rough cost estimate, due to the sheer volume of interest i cannot schedule everyone for a site visit.
Thank you for understanding.
I have one deck post on my front veranda that has begun to sink and it has warped my veranda deck and can see he overhand beginning to sag.
It is most likely due from my front step which was sunk and water now runs back towards this post.
I need the post lifted and the deck adjusted to correct the veranda overhang and ideally the concrete step lifted as well.
House is approximately 70 years old - both front and rear steps are wooden and need to be replaced as wood is rotting and stairs are becoming unsafe. Both sets of stairs are comprised of five steps - the rear stairs have wooden railings and the landing is 6 feet wide and 4 feet deep - the front stairs have wrought iron railing and the landing is 5 feet wide and 3 feet deep. We would like to replace the stairs with wooden stairs/landings and, if possible, keep the wrought iron railing in the front and a similar wooden railing for the rear. We are also open to using other building materials for the steps - just not concrete. I am on vacation until August 10th, so my time is very flexible for the contractor to come over to inspect the project site and make arrangements to complete the work. Thanks!
Hello there,
Our current deck comes off the back of our house/backdoor and starts from the middle of the house east to the fence/divider wall of our duplex neighbour's deck.
We have approx an 8.5 x 11ft space directly west of our current deck that we're looking to build a patio or step down deck, which would take up the rest of the back of the house. The grading in our yard is quite extreme so from the high point where our current deck is to the low point (east edge of the house) there is a several inch difference. Ideally we would like it to be fairly low to the ground with no need for railings. The other option we were considering was a paving stone or slab patio. Again though, with the grading issue, I'm unsure which would be a better choice.
Please let me know if you could take on this project and if so, how much you would charge.
Thank you.
We would like to build a deck for a new home with composite deck material (Rhino, Trex...specific material to be determined.)
Deck size: approx 22'x13' (with some cut outs for patio) Total deck square footage approx 170sq.ft.
The deck will only be approx 2ft off the ground, no railing wanted.
If you are interested in submitting a quote to us and would like to view the site, please contact us.
I recently had new weeping tile installed and this disrupted our patio blocks. The patio blocks were all crooked anyways so they have to go and a new cement patio is in order. It's roughly 15' x 30', not exactly rectangular. About 95% of the existing patio is made up of interlocking bricks which I would like stacked up behind our garage. I would like a new two step set of stairs because it broke off from the sidewalk and is sloped towards the house. There is another 2' x 3' section of sidewalk that needs to be replaced. Other than that the rest of the demolition is really just pulling out the patio blocks..
Thanks.
Martin
Quote please!
Deck nailer width is 9' and the distance to the wood fence is 8.69 m. Tile style vinyl, Composite and pressure treated also. I'm think 9' by 9' deck.
An, if you have better suggestion about size and material, please let me know, and contact me by e-mail.
I send 2 drawings and a picture, and I'm the property owner
