New home purchase. Pre-sale inspection report recommends a professional electrician have a look at a couple of sore spots & provide an estimate. Looking to have the estimate & work done by the 10th of September, but will settle for a complete estimate, and work dates scheduled by then.
At the minimum, the job is likely going to entail grounding of 4 outlets, and terminating a wire in the garage.
Interested contractors should provide all details this website advises me to ask of you, including insurance / WCB coverage, and a couple of references; saves us both one step in the conversation!
change light in master bedroom closet, current light not working at all
stove/range hood, fan with light
change lights in three bathrooms
check deck light, changed light and still does not work
outlet in living room not working
House built in 1977

I require some electrical upgrading in our bsmt suite in order to make the City happy; 3 way switch, fridge on its own circuit, GFI's, install wireless detectors, etc. I have a list but not a big list of items to complete. I believe they are wanting a master electrician; need to pull the electrical permit. I would like this work done asap if possible. Many thanks in advance for your interest.

1360 sq ft bungalow in Edmonton requires rewiring with copper wire - currently have aluminum installed. Basement is unfinished and will allow access to walls on main floor. The house is 36 years old and for insurance purposes upgrading to copper wire is required. Currently have 120 amp breaker. Not sure if this will require replacement.
Currently have some issues with some plug ins not working and there is a concern with plug ins for computer room and entertainment center being overloaded. Additional plugins/breakers may be required for these areas. Entertainment center is in basement.
Hi there my name is Laron, and i need to install 2 15 amp breakers or 1 30 amp ( which ever makes more sense) I am living in an unfinished basement and i have 2 outlets to run off of. 1 outlet is from a spare room to 100 FT extension cord (10 AMP 1250 Watt) run off of a Sub breaker. The other outlet is run off a regular 2 socket outlet with a 6 socket power bar/pad attached to it is a Phone modem, Washer, Fridge. deep freezer, utility light and an Computer running as a server. Everytime a load of laundry needs to be done in the washer the server has to be shut down or the breaker trips mid cycle (too many amps im guessing). if i move the server onto the Sub panel (100 FT Extension cord) the breaker on the sub panel seems more prone to being tripped, and there is some issues with the pilot light going out on the water heater.
Summary
-need to install proper parts/breaker(s) etc to run 4 computers without affecting any other appliances
I have a few small projects in my home that need some expertise:
Installation of a fan in the bathroom
Switching stove fan to over-the-range microwave (would include resizing the cabinets)
Repair drywall (around electrical panel, very small area)
3 small plumbing leaks
1 light in the basement not working
Regards.
I provided a sketch to help describe the project. We have a development permit to convert the 2nd floor of the existing garage to a garden suite. We're not sure at the moment the start date since we're waiting for the building permit.
The house is currently supplied via aerial w/100A service. The existing (200A I believe) meter will need to be re-located to garage which will accept the new 200A service. An existing trench from the garage to the house will be excavated for the new 100A service to the house. This trench currently contains an unused gas line (the future development consideration was never completed by previous owner), and a couple conduits (1/2" for network, 1-1/4" for electrical - garage is currently supplied by a 50A breaker in house panel). The existing electrical conduit can be abandoned or removed if timed correctly. It might only be a 1" conduit which I don't think is large enough for a 100A supply and also, we need to supply electricity to the garage during the project. The 200A service will need to be routed into the garage with a new panel. This new main panel will contain the house (100A) breaker, an existing subpanel for the lights and 110V receptacles in entire garage and any new circuits (ie. kitchen/bath) of the garden suite, boiler system that will be installed on main level closet space, and some 110/220V circuits in conduit for garage tools.
A new ground rod will be required.
New circuits include:
-bathroom (1 circuit)
-20A kitchen receptacles (2-3 circuits)
-stove supply (1 circuit)
-washer/dryer (2 circuits)
-utility closet (boiler, on-demand heater) (1 circuit)
-110/220V tool circuits (~6 total)
Hi there,
Looking for quotes for a nearly whole home rewire (kitchen and basement already updated). Older home (1930) with K&T throughout main and upper level. Plaster walls (hope to keep them intact) with NO insulation in them. Wide baseboard (6") should provide a way of hiding most of the work. Would like to upgrade service to 200amps as I will later build a basement suite and a shop out back. Panel upgrade.
Also looking for dishwasher circuit, safety plugs (kidproof), some USB outlets, CAT6 network to most rooms.
Please email if interested.
Matt
Requesting quotes to have our overhead home power line raised in height to meet the City of Edmonton's minimum 11.5' clearance requirement that we are not meeting due to the deck that was built last year. There is approximately 100' between the back lane power pole and the main electrical connection point on our house. Please let me know your availability to stop by and provide a quote, we are located in Inglewood near Westmount Shopping Centre.
We would like to install a kitchen stove hood vent fan in our basement suite. House was built in 1955 and the the baesment suite has existed 15+ yrs. The stove is along an outside wall so venting straight outside should be possible. The height of the vent fan would be about 24" about the sidewalk on the outside wall since the style of house is a raised bungelow. The material on the outside of the exterior wall is cement pargement so there is no siding or masonary to cut. We should be able to do the install ourselves but are looking for a quote in getting the 4 inch hole cut in the concrete
I would like to get an estimate on the installation of a new stove range hood. I would like the estimate to include running insulated hose/ duct work through an upper kitchen cabinet to exhaust through the roof.
I will supply the range hood, (Broan Allure II 300 cfm model) and require the estimate to include the other materials required to complete the installation, as well as labour.
The existing electrical connection for the stove can be relocated to suit renovation and code requirements. There is original (live) wiring in place for the range hood.
This 1080 square foot home was built in 1962. The roof is tongue and groove wood construction with asphalt shingles in excellent condition. Kitchen cabinetry is original, of solid wood construction.
My main concern is to have a stove range hood providing proper ventilation installed by an experienced contractor in one day.
To arrange an appointment to view this project please e-mail me at your earliest convenience, Thank you.
This project includes assessing the best location for washing machine and dryer, will include knocking out drywall, wiring electrical outlets for both, plumbing and ventillation, and refinishing drywall and installing a door/cupboard door to the newly created laundry area. Please only apply for this contract if you are available to begin work immediately. Suite is currently empty, and will be rented out for March 1.
Hi there, we need a dishwasher installed where we have no previous one. we live in a 1977 condo complex, and are wondering on the possible cost to rough in the plumbing and electrical and to put in the dishwasher. there have been no renovations on the kitchen as far as i know.
thank you so much!
Michelle
Relocate and install a new kitchen Island Range Hood. Additional bracing will be required in the attic but it should be minimal. Couple small pieces of 2 x 6 and 2 x 4 to be attached to the attic joyces. I can supply materials. An installation manual is included to help show what bracing would be needed in the attic.
There will be some ceiling repair work needed where the existing vent pipe is as it needs to be relocated. An area of about 18" x 14" will need new drywall installed. This could be tricky trying to match the drywall thickness.
Install a new kitchen ceiling light/fan. This would be a completely new installation.
Replace existing bathroom fan with a new fan.
The homeowner will be available to assist if needed. I truly believe that this can all be easily completed in 1 day thus my selection of the estimated budget.
I have been in the attic clearing insulation to make all points easily accessible but still, have some clearing to do. I also have some plywood planks in the attic to make it easier to move around.
License, insurance, etc., will be required
Thanks,
Randel
1980's bungalow. There is a skylight in the kitchen surrounded by track lights. We want to remove the track lights and install 4-8 (?) pot lights in the kitchen. Need advice on proper placement and number and brightness, so we need someone who is very experienced in doing this kind of work. There is blown-in insulation in the attic. In the process of getting quotes and want to start asap.
Thanks
-Richard
I have a main floor laundry room / full bathroom. I want to move my washer and dryer upstairs to a storage room next to my master bedroom. I will need a exhaust line and electrical for the dryer plus I wanted to tap into the upstairs bathroom for water and drainage for the washer.
While this is being done I also want to relocate my thermostat. It's currently on the mainfloor bathroom wall and I want to put it across the hallway.
Note: The storage room upstairs shares a wall with my master bath and another wall with my upstairs main bathroom plus my basement is unfinished so moving electrical shouldnt be difficult.
What would this cost and how long would it take?
Replace fan in bathroom (unserviceable); replace electrical outlet with USB outlet; replace light switch with switch/outlet combo; expand track lighting; replace canopy on track lighting; rewire new pendants to track lighting system; install new fixtures: 1 flush mount, 1 chandelier, 1 pendant, 1 ceiling fan, 1 wall sconce.
I am looking for some minor electrical work to be carried out in a 1950s Kitchen.
Currently we have a 1960's oven hardwired into the floor and a 1960's fridge on the other side of the kitchen. These appliances are switching places.
We need the oven disconnecting and a regular wall socket put in it's place for the new fridge. Where the fridge was placed we need a high voltage socket putting in for the new oven. We would also like a socket placed in the cupboard above the oven ready for a microwave.
The kitchen is above the furnace room and all the cable work is exposed for easy access.
Finally, we would also like our garage door opener connected correctly, Currently it is hardwired in. We would like a socket put in and plug put on the opener so that it meets good.
