a) basement, approximately 650 sq ft
b) site is clean, prepped, and project was started
c) materials from IKEA -- all purchased and ready for install
d) house was built in 1954
e) problems encountered that stifled self-install: 1) floor is not even; purchased some roof shingles to try and level out, 2) locking mechanism for laying floor boards on sides not working smoothly resulting in large, visible gaps between rows, 3) room is not square, 4) walls are not solid, so without a frame, nothing to push against to move rows together; purchased some ply boards to "build" a frame, but haven't started yet
f) need to have job completed by end of May
We would like to replace our carpet with laminate flooring (the one from Costco). We have 14 steps of stairs 31’ wide; landing 43x74; hallway 33x78 + 40x73 + 33x130 ; bedroom 1: 220x170; bedroom 2: 46x82 + 131x135; bedroom 3: 143x100 + 46x81 + 110x20; These measures are all in inches. Will need you to take the carpet away. Thanks. Would appreciate a quote and approximate time start and finish.
Currently have carpet in finished basement but wish to replace with laminant. Already have ripped out carpet on first room and removed furniture in preparation of work. First room is 8' 5" x 10 ' 9". Second room is 14'9" x 8 ' 9". This room has salt crystals coming from the concrete. I don't know how this impacts the installation of the laminate.
I also need the bathroom done it is 7' by 7' 6" minus the vanity and the 3' by 2' 10" shower stall.
The main area of the downstairs is a bizzare shape and I am not going to attempt to send you the dimensions, just to say it is the lower part of a 1000 square foot house. Taking away the rooms I did send you the dimensions of and the laundry room we are not doing, the space is approx 13' wide and almost the length of the house.
I am looking forward to hearing from you,
Tracy

We have a flight of stairs in our house that needs to have laminate flooring installed on it. The previous owners left us 80 sq. ft. of flooring that matches the main floor, and we'd like to put it on the stairs. We have the ability to purchase more if required. We need a contractor who will be able to install the laminate correctly over the plywood stairs that are currently present. Most of the stairs are straight with no return, a few are winding with no return, and there's a small landing. The current covering that is on the stairs will be removed before you do your work (currently covered in horrible lino.)
The timeline for this job is for it to be completed by the end of August, preferably by the end of July.
All quotes are appreciated! It's also possible to book a time to come see the stairs in question any weekday after 4pm or on the weekends.
Older small home in the Calder area of Edmonton. Single level bungalow. Requires flooring to be installed in the kitchen and hallway only and installation of baseboards after. All materials are on site. Baseboards are painted and cut and numbered for quick install after completion. I am looking for estimates in order to complete this job in a timely and cost effective manner.
This is a property that is rented and the tennant is in the home. We would need to work around the installers schedule to ensure maximum productivity.
I need to replace about 4 or 5 laminate boards in a living room. It is very cheap laminate, but my landlord is requiring this in order to get my damage deposit back. I need this done before christmas if possible. Along with a little bit of sanding from water damage to a cupboard bottom. Also, i need a sink tap replaced and 1 side of baseboard. Can someone please phone me and give me a quote asap. I would really appreciate it.
Thanks!
Georgina
I have a 4 bedroom 1187 sqft townhome that I will be taking possession of on November 15th. I am only looking to have the living room carpet replaced with a dark toned laminate. The home was built in 1976 with the room measuring approximately 10.95 x 17.42 ft. Depending on the cost I may have the upstairs done as well, but the living room is my first priority.

All laminate already purchased, 12mm kronotex Laminate, I will also get the underlay before install. Carpet to be removed in living room, and I can have all the baseboards removed before job start. I am the owner. There is one step in the porch, that will need the nose installed.
I live in a Mobile Home. I have a front load washer and dryer. The floor under the appliances has "sunken", causing a piece of the skirting outside to "pop out". Whatever is behind that piece of skirting needs to be repaired and reinforced, and the flooring under the machines needs to be reinforced. I currently have laminate there, but I don't care if the laminate has to be removed under the machines in order to reinforce the floor. I don't care what kind of flooring is under the machines, as long as it is strong enough.
I need 250 sq ft of laminate flooring put in my living room, up 16 stairs (8 strs, a landing and another 8 strs) and a hallway. And about 150 - 200 sq ft of ceramic/vinyl flooring put in the kitchen/front entrance. I beleve the carpet and tile are about 6-10 years old and need replacing asap.

Remove horrible florescent box lighting

Hi there,
I am looking to renovate my 500 square foot basement rental suite. Currently there is no tenant in it.
I am looking to have the flooring removed and re-installed with laminate flooring. Looking to maybe add new countertops, maybe also laminate? Cupboard and cabinets need to be replaced too as well as new baseboards and some crown moulding. Please let me know the best email and number to send you pictures to. Thanks
Had 1200 sq. ft of laminate installed over gypcrete in my condo. Now there is an area of the floor that is obviously higher than the rest, and adjacent areas that have excessive up-and-down movement of the laminate. The floor had been levelled using self-leveling compound by the installer (who is no longer available to come and repair what was done).
Need someone who can tell me what has to be done, and how much it will cost.
Hello,
Looking to get an estimate on some repairs. the home was recently rented out to University students and there has been some wear and tear on the home that we would like to get repaired. Now that we are living in the home ourselves we will likely start updating more of the home. but at the moment we are looking to get an estimate for these repairs for damage done but our renters.
The pictures show a 4ft by 4ft section of hardwood that has deep divots in it. We are looking to replace this section and also the light fixture was ripped out as well
A rough estimate to repair these items would benefit us straight away.
Also a section of carpet on the main level was severely damaged so likely a 2ft by 32ft section of carpet and underlay will need to be ripped out and replaced.
Any indication on the cost of these immediate repairs would be most welcome. I am also available most days after 4 or could make myself available during the day.
We would also like to look at having all of the carpet torn up and perhaps do laminate. In the future we are also looking at redoing the kitchen. but our concern is the immediate cost of the repairs above.
Thank you.
Recently purchased a home in Edmonton and have the following renovations in mind. Do not have accurate measurements at this point, as do not yet have possession. House is 1060 square feet. Would like an approximate quote for each item.
Living/Dining room 1960's era hardwood flooring needs to be refinished. Approximate area is 410 sq feet.
2 of 3 bedroom's are hardwood to be refinished approximate total 220 sq feet
3rd bedroom has laminate over hardwood - unsure of status of flooring underneath - approx size 110 sq ft - suggestions?
hallway, bathroom and kitchen have vinyl flooring which needs to be replaced approximate are is 200square feet - complicating factors in this part is a large cabinet approx 4x1.5x8 needs to be removed from hallway, 2nd complicating factor - restaurant style booth with one heating duct and electrical needs to be removed.
connecting wall between livingroom/kitchen to be removed if possible and build a bar style eating counter with cabinetry underneath in kitchen area approximate size of bar/counter 6 feet.
We are looking to replace all carpeting our home with a hardwood laminate. The home was built in 2001, these are the original carpets and they are in bad condition so we are going to go with a laminate - we already have the material picked out (not purchased), we are just looking for assistance with installation. This would include the full upstairs (3 bedrooms and hall), stairs & landing, and the living area. I'm not sure of the square footage, probably about 800 - 1000 square ft.
I need someone to replace some laminate flooring in my livingroom (its in a corner, and I have the replacement boards - I think about 3 will do it), and do some tile replacement in the bathroom (I will also have the materials).
Not a big job, but I don't have the tools.
