house built in 2002, I am not sure if my attic can be built out or not, but we need some extra space in the house and have seen built out attics in the past. I would not need a bathroom or anything, just finished, carpeted and made into one large sitting area and one bedroom if possible. If attic build out is not possible than maybe a two room addition, again I am not too sure what is possilbe, I would like someone to maybe come out, take a look and give me some ideas and an estimate. We are planning to go ahead with possilbe project in the spring time (march-april) and just need some proffesional advice on what we can possibly do to add some space to our house.
Hello,
I am looking at adding an addition onto a cabin at Sandy Lake in Alberta, and was looking for some quotes. The addition would be approximately 20 feet by 10 feet on an existing wood sided cabin. I would be looking for structural (exterior and roofing) as we would most likely insulate and drywall ourselves. I would need this to connect to the existing cabin by two interior doors. Please reach out to me if you have any further question9s or concerns, and I look forward to hearing from you!

My parents have purchased a home in my neighborhood and they want to build an addition onto it before moving in. I've been through the process of doing an addition before so I'm pretty familiar with everything. It is a small house that has been nicely renovated, <800sqft. We want to add closet space, a second bathroom, laundry, and sunny office space. I've drawn up plans at are 18' x 18', see attachment. Please note I have higher resolution images but trusted pros compresses and scales down the images I upload.
Hello
We are looking for an estimate on demolishing the existing deck and addition and putting in a new addition of the same width as the current one that stems from the back right to the front and adding an extra five feet to the front of the home, as well as framing in an extra bedroom and mudroom and widing the hallway, adding a front entry door with ramp and back door( mudroom door). we just need an estimate on the framing as we can insulate and drywall ourselves. We would prefer to use used material from home reusables and habitat for humanity to save on the cost of the project. I have attached photos of the mobile home if this helps or we can arrange for you to come down for an estimate. please let us know.
Thank you
Crystal
I want to add a 8 ft x 13 ft addition with full basement to the front of my house. This addition to also have a 6 ft x 13 ft covered porch. Within this space will be a new entry area and closet. The existing bathroom will butt out into this addition giving the bathroom a 5 ft x 4 ft approx. shower. The existing bathroom has already been gutted and the rough in plumbing in place. This project will include finishing the bathroom remodel. There will be a side light window and new entry door and closet door. Also two new 30 inch doors to be installed in bathroom.
The existing home has a L shaped foot print : measures 22 ft across, bumps out 5 ft and then continues across 16 ft giving the overall length of house 38 ft across. The roof is hip style and has painted smooth cedar siding. The house was built in 1954 and sits on a 53 x 150 foot lot. All utilities run through the back yard, so no sewer or lines will be involved.
I would like a estimate only at this time. Thank you.
Would like to build a 36 x 24 garden suite on an acerage in the petoleum golf club area. 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom, living room, utility room, furnace, ect. The job would include preparing the foundation (either concrete or raised wood) and tieing into the existing utilities such as gas, septic system, power and well system.
We are planning to enlarge and renovate our small home. We live in a bungalow that's approx 900 square feet and built in the 40's.
Our house has been partially renovated with new kitchen and bathrooms but the existing structure is just not big enough. We wonder what we can do to add living space to it in order to have a bigger kitchen and two more rooms for relatives and friends when they visit. We are thinking of an addition in the back of the house to enlarge the kitchen but still have to find some solution for the two more rooms in the house to live. Would it be possible to add one more floor to the house, we don't know.
Our basement is low ceiling and is finished but not totally renovated. It has to be waterproofed before turning it into any rooms.
Considering the purchase of a small raised bungalow in King Edward Park. It only works for me if I bump it out (including the basement) between 8 and 15 feet the house is approximately 30 feet wide
I am looking for a rough ball park figure so I know if this house stays in the running. I am looking for completion just to the Dry-In state as I will take care of the interior and exterior finishes myself.
1100 square foot bungalow - in capilano area looking to add triple garage with 2 bedrooms and ensuite above the garage - garage to be linked (attached to existing house)
Corner lot
Front faces west
Would like to attach garage to back of house where there garage entry would face north
Overhead power lines.
We are planning to build a three level addition (about 15 x 16) to our existing 3 year old house (family room in the main floor, a room on top of it and expand the basement). All the architectural plans are available and we now waiting for the release of the development and building permit.
Hi, We would like to add a loft over the entrance foyer. House was built in 2003.
We are looking for an approximate cost and time frame required for this project.
Also I guess we will need city permits, how can this be done? What I am looking for is basically the steps involved in the process of permit and whether the contractor does it for me or I have to do it myself.
I am attaching a rough drawings/ measurements for reference.
I currently live in a 1956 bungalow that is 933 sqr ft. We have updated the kitchen and bathroom, electrical, along with some other things in the basement. I am looking at pushing the back of the house out 10 ft or so.
I am also looking at adding that space to the basement. I am just starting the process of looking at options and prices.
We are a family looking to expand onto the back of our home. This project will expand both our living room and our kitchen. We have been trying to contact contractors for estimates, however no one has returned our calls. We are wanting a contractor who can include the permits needed. We own a 900 square foot 1 1/2 story bungalow, built in 1946. Medium quality materials, only cosmetic renovations completed.
The existing home is a 2 1/2 storey home of aproximately 2100 Square feet built in 1967. Main floor exists of sunken family room, kitchen with eating area, dinning room and large living room. Also a large den, bathroom and mud area in from the garage. Upstairs has 3 bedrooms (2 bedrooms and 1 master bedroom) and two bathrooms. Master bedroom has ensuite with smaller walk-in closet.
Looking to renovate the main floor and possible addition above the kitchen and living room area. Renovation would consist of knocking out the wall between the kitchen and the dining room to make one large kitchen with large kitchen island for entertaining. Looking to have granite counter tops. Replace the existing carpet and lino with tile in the entrance and hardwood in the kitchen and carpet in the living and family rooms. Want to remodel the back entrance from the garage(mud room/laundry room) and add locker style storage and re-do the main floor bathroom.
The upstairs renovation, looking to upgrade the bathrooms and turn the existing two bathrooms and master bedroom closet into two good size bathrooms that are more functional. The question we are grappling with is whether or not to extend over top of the kitchen and living room area to add another bedroom (new master bedroom).
The renovation would be looking to replace all existing windows with new more energy efficient grade windows.
Note the house has two brand new high efficiency furnaces and the basement is finished. The ceiling in the basement is the drop ceiling with panels so easy access to the electrical, ducts and plumbing.
I am wanting to add 15x17 addition to a storey and a half (veterans house in Spruce Avenue neighbourhood - close to Kingsway) This means digging to add to basement and include mainfloor and tie into roof.
No plumbing required. I am looking for an estimate on everything up to completion of outside envelope up to but not including insulation. I will complete electrical, insulation and finished walls myself.
Hi,
We have a 1,434 sq feet house almost 5 years old in Walkerlakes, Ellerslie area and now we want to extend it as we have a bigger lot. We don't want to leave our community and neighborhood thats why just looking forward to extend this one only. Please contact us if this could be done in reasonable price and time.
Thanks
Tariq
the house was built in 1973, californian style with a flat roof, its approx. 1800 sq. ft. I want to extend the living area approximately 6-8ft outward, by 20ft long. It would need to have heating system/electrical extended into the space. Hardwood flooring to match current flooring, as well as large triple pane windows included.
As far as the roof is concerned we are looking for either an upgrade of the flat style or an upgrade to a pitched roof, with trusses, etc. I wish I could give a more clear idea of the project but this is a start. Thanks
We are planning the following additions for our 1975 1 1/2 storey house: a bathroom dormer and a little room (no basement) on the back of the house (18 x 12 feet). Specifically, we are looking for a contractor to arrange things so they are lock-and-key ready (including outside walls, siding on the south side of the building, windows, doors, roof). We are able to do / organize the finishing inside ourselves.
We are currently finishing complete basement reno ourselves.
We are the owners. The project requires an engineer and permits.
We are looking for a contractor to help us design a blueprint and provide us with a free estimate on what our addition might cost in person, as for us the project going forward depends on approval and costs we need to bring our idea up to our rental community and landlord as we currently rent the land and are renting to own the mobile.
Also, are there any contractors that provide flexible payment options?
Thank you.
