Hello,
I'm looking at a kitchen and bathroom renovation project.
I'm a little knew to all this and looking for an honest person to do good work.
For the bathroom the tub has all ready been replaced. I want to remove and older style vantiy and replace with a pedestal type sink.
There is a large mirror hanging on the wall over the entire length of the vanity which I would like removed and replaced with a smaller one over the pedastal sink.
The toilet must also be replaced.
For the flooring I would like to have hard tiles put in to replace the soft vinyl which is currently in place.
To the right of the pedestal I would like to install 3 to 4 shelf units to have a place to put my towels and other bathroom accesories. I would also like to have the wall painted.
For the kitchen I would like to keep the appliances but perhaps move them around a litlle in order to use the space more effectively
It is a classic U-shaped kitchen with a window over the sink looking out into the back yard.
I'm looking at new cabinets, counter tops, flooring and a painting the walls. I have a pretty good of what I would like to do however, am not really sure how to proceed.
I may be able to dig up some of the plans I drew about a year ago when first starting out to to this.
There is also some flooing work which I would like done near the front entrance and in the living room area.
All I'm looking for at this point is getting a good idea of what the cost is and then proceeding from there.
The house was built in the early 1960's and is approxiamtley 1100 to 1200 square feet.
I'm honestly not sure of the square footage of the bathroom or the kitchen but it is pretty much the standard size of houses buitl in that era.
I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Kevin
Looking for a kitchen renovation with installation of IKEA kitchen. Would like to use the closet space from the adjacent bedroom in order to relocate the fridge, shift the sink from the corner of the counter to underneath the window, install a gas range and hood fan in place of the separate stove top and wall mounted oven currently. New laminate floors were previously installed and we have a surplus to finish the flooring once the kitchen is completed. Would also be interested in laminating the stairs and landing down to the basement.
There is a small ensuite bathroom and a main bathroom side by side on the main floor. Would like to either renovated them both with new tile flooring, counter/sink and shower in the main bathroom OR turn them into one larger bathroom and install a separate 3 piece bathroom in the basement. It would depend on what the two options would look like financially.
I have uploaded the original floor plans of the house and made changes to show what it is currently like. I have also uploaded the plans of the main floor with an idea of what we would like the changes to look like.
We would also be interested in changing out three old basement windows and installing 1-2 extra windows in the basement.
We are flexible and open to suggestions about style and material depending on costs etc.
Timing is flexible but we could happily start ASAP.
Due to work I am easiest to reach via email originally and will return with phones calls as soon as possible.
450 sq 1956 original kitchen.
Remodel could include;
moving plumbing from 5 - 15 feet from current source
reinforcing basement support for heavier cabinet/appliance/countertop weight
change window into an exterior doorway
if possible remove portion of current support wall, replace with 18' support beam
upper and lower cabinetry & counter top
Hi
We are currently in process of selling our house and decided a few upgrades are nessesary, we are having granite counters installed and are looking for someone to do the backsplash in kitchen after counters go in as well as someone whom can remove existing hardwood in two bedrooms and install new hardwood which we can supply the flooring. Biggest issue for us is getting the floors done as soon as possible as it demishes our viewings to have the old damaged floors. The back splash would not need to be completed for a few weeks as the counters will take about that long to be installed. We will also require plumbing hook ups for the new sinks going in with the counters.
This condo building built in 1970. The kitchen is gally type adjecent to living room. I would like to have open concept kitchen. I have two full bath would like to convert into spa like bathroom. The total area of unit is 1456sf. Two bedroom and living room has carpet. I would like to know what could be cost effective ceramic tiles or hardwood. All three room has big windows overlooking river valley. I would like to bring outdoors beauty indoor.
If we utilize existing kitchen cabinets with some alteration would be great. I would like to have wall mounted oven and cooktop with hood on granite counter top with lots of working space.
Looking for someone to build a corner booth for my kitchen. Approx. 48 inches by 102 inches in length. Would like a tall back approx. 35 inches tall but short seat about 15 inches from floor. Upholstered in medium brown faux leather. Wood legs or base in medium cherry color. Floor is tile so i'm open to what kind of base is best. Please would you estimate approximate cost of services, materials and anything else I may have missed. Feel free to email me about any questions as I would like to begin this project soon if price is reasonable. Thank you.
I live in a condo that is about 15 years old and as such, it has those kitchen cabinets that are white with the oak strip (handle) at the bottom. I really like the layout of my kitchen, but unfortunately, I really dislike the cabinet facings... The cabinets are not standard sizes, so the only option for replacing them is to either get an entirely new kitchen or have each door custom built. Since I like the layout, I would prefer to just have the doors replaced. I would like to keep my kitchen white, so I'm not concerned about the material used (MDF would be fine; whatever is cheapest), but I would like to use the existing interior hinges. My kitchen has 13 upper cabinet doors, 6 bottom doors, 9 drawers (2 are false drawers, 2 are large pot drawers), and a lazy susan, which has 3 small doors. Since I would prefer a white kitchen, the doors will all have to be spray painted white as well... There is also an island support that will have to be covered unless there is a way to make it look decent without doing anything to it. I leave it up to your expertise! Thanks!
I just need a new kitchen countertop quote on how much for installation. I want something Like Quartz or laminate counter top so not too expensive but looks good and also a new kitchen sink and tap and inexpensive as well as as I am not picky.
The measurements are roughly 25" deep and one side from wall to stove is 81" and other side from fridge to corner is 53"
Contractor also needs to have WCB insurance to protect themselves and also time frame for Reno is a week or less.
Kitchen countertops & backsplash:
Kitchen is basically a 10' x 10' U shape, counter is split into 3 pieces: An L shape 10' long & 3' over, one piece 20" wide, one piece 52" wide. Add to that the 14" wide, 10' long breakfast bar.
Backsplash is only needed along the shorter pieces of counter, not the 10' length.
Sink & tap may also be replaced.
Open to suggestions for materials/design.
Cupboards and floors are to remain as is.
Hi there,
I want to make a kitchen in the basement for rent purpose. There is only one place where I can put the kitchen but that place has washer and dryer. I want to move those to the basement's bathroom. Moreover, the bathroom is huge, so I want to make it small by installing a wall and want to put the washer and dryer in the remaining place. Could you please let me know how much would be the cost in total. Please do not hesitate to ask me if you have any question that help you to understand.
Thanks,
Madhuri
Our house is 1350 sq ft. We require a kitchen remodel (gut), new flooring throughout home, 2 bathroom remodels, and new windows. We will need a qualified electrician to rewire the kitchen. We also have some built-ins that need to be removed in the dining room and entryway so a drywaller will also be required. The entire house needs to be painted as well. We are the owners of this home in Edmonton and are looking for a reliable contractor with excellent ratings. References will be checked.
1959, 1100 sqft House in King Edward Park Area- The kitchen is closed in by walls and there is not that much room. We would like to open it up by knocking out a wall and perhaps adding a breakfast bar. Also we are looking at putting in an Ikea ktchen as they are quite cost effective.
Another reno we are looking to do is put a washer/dryer upstairs because we do not want to share laundry with the people in the downstairs basement suite.
Demo of existing condo kitchen and an install of a new ikea kitchen. Building is 48 years old so asbestos testing will need to be done. Electrical panel needs to be updated, a new outlet installed for the fridge, a light switch moved and junction boxes put in for under cabinet lighting. (which will require running new wires, cutting into the wall/ceiling, patching holes etc). Also installing an above range microwave so venting may need to be moved upward slightly. A brand new waterline will need to be connected to the fridge. Kitchen plan has already been designed and everything has been purchased and delivered from IKEA. (with the exception of switching a 30" cabinet for a 36" cabinet) We would like the work done quickly but with a close attention to detail. Evenings work best for estimates, once work starts it can be done during the day.
Hello,
I am looking for a contractor to assist with kitchen renovations in my 900 sqft kitchen with original cabinets (built in 50s, I assume). See attached photos. Have already purchased appliances and have a basic design in mind. It's a small space and not many options. Work would include new cabinets, new granite counter (including breakfast counter under window), new flooring, backsplash, electrical upgrade and installing exhaust venting to outdoors. Would like the new cabinets to include display of top shelves (i.e. glass insert for top shelf).
Kind regards,
Liz
I have recently removed kitchen cabinets, need refurbishement done to drywall and plaster before new cabinets installed.
Seeking to get this done ASAP as it is holding up reno work and delaying my move in.
Please let me know if you can assist.
If work done well, second scope of work will include basement completion.
I LIVE IN A 900 SQ FOOT TOWNHOUSE IN THE NE SIDE OF EDMONTON. I NEED NEW KITCHEN CABINETS AND COUNTER TOPS. MY KITCHEN IS QUITE SMALL. I'VE GOT WHITE APPLIANCES SO I'D LIKE CUPBOARDS AND COUNTER TOPS TO MATCH. I NEED THIS JOB DONE ASAP AS THE CURRENT CABINETS ARE COMPLETE CRAP AND FALLING APART....LITERALLY. I BELIEVE THIS PROPERTY WAS BUILT IN THE EARLY 70'S. PLS SEND ME A QUOTE IF YOU CAN HELP ME. TY.
Hi,
I own a condo in Edmonton and I am looking to remove the kitchen wall (constructed of 2x4s). I will be doing the removal myself but the board needs a structural engineer to sign off that the wall isn't a load bearing wall before I can go ahead with this project. Is this a service you offer? If so what would the time frame be for your assessment and could you give me a rough estimate of the cost?
Thanks so much,
Ryan
