Basement development. In need a basement developed for a small home. Home was built in 2007. Framing, Wiring and Plumbing is sufficent. I can do the gyproc and plastering/ painting myself. I can handle the floors also. Approx 800 square feet is the total area of the basement, and we are looking at erecting four walls.
We want to develope our basement. it is a three year old home we just bought the framing and wiring is done. the total square footage is app 760ft. but there are two sections that are being left as is (laundry/furnace room and storage area) that takes off 123 ft. so total about 640 ft. There is a livingroom, bedroom and bathroom that is already framed. Livingroom is 13'10" x 13'11", bedroom is 13'8"x9'9" and bath is 5'3"x7'5" The walls we want drywalled and painted and we would like to use cork flooring. The bath we would like a corner shower, a pedestal sink and a toilet. perhaps a comparison of a tile floor and linoleum could be included
I need to instal a basement kitchen or kitchenette in my renovated basement. I have a bathroom installed already, I would also consider making a separate entrance if the price is right. I am also looking to paint my upstairs walls and change up the back splash. I would like a package deal for all these services but could do each one separately. I am not looking for anything extravagant in my kitchen basement, just simple with cabinets, counter tops, sink and possibly stove with exhaust.
We are needing some basement repairs on our 40+ year old home. We are in the process of repairing 2 major cracks in the foundation and are needing help re-finishing the rooms after this re-pair is complete. These will include Frost walls, insulation, vapor barries, dry wal, flooring in one bedroom and one storage room and a ceiling in the storage room.
Hi, I live in Grande Prairie, AB and have a completely finished basement with the exception that the room designated to be the bathroom is not finished. The room is approximately 6' by 9.5'. Electricity is already run to the room, with outlets and lights present. All drainage pipes are present, but the water supply will need to be run from existing lines that pass through the room, but feed the upstairs bathroom. I also do not believe that there has been any pre-planning for venting for a ceiling fan. I would like the floor to be slate tile to match the other 2 bathrooms in the house, but otherwise, a prefab shower/tub unit and standard vanity without any expensive top (ie not granite) would work nicely. Thanks for your time in reading this, and I look forward to hearing back from you.
Thanks,
Sam

I am a new home buyer of what I thought was a great start for my son and I. Upon moving into this house in July I have come across so many issues. An inspection I had gotten done prior to the purchase lead me to believe that this was a good buy. Now I have a ripped up living room and dealing with rotting wood, water damage, possible mould issues, no insulation and no proper electrical. I am a single mother who works hard for a living and had to put so much into this house already and my funding is falling short. My son and I cannot even stay in our own home because he has asthma and there is no prople heat for our own comfort. I don't know where else to turn.. I need a helping hand. My boyfriend, son and I have been doing most of the work ourselves. The layers of walls are coming down and behind them are just hidden mysteries like live wires, sawdust, mould and more. I have purchased drywall and insulation to put the house back together but as I'm digging deeper I'm finding more hazards that I just don't know how to fix on my own. I have some finances put aside for this house but what I'm dealing with now is going to run me deeper in the hole. All I want is to be able to provide a safe and comfortable home for my son.. I've worked so hard and came so far to get to where I am in life. All I want is help. I've never asked for help before and it takes alot for me to do so. The snow is coming and winter is around the corner, all I want is my home back. I'm trying so hard to keep myself together and trying to make my son believe that everything is going to be alright..I'm trying so hard but what do I do, where do I go from here. Please someone find it in your heart to help me. Thank you. My doors are always open for anyone who is curious as to what I am dealing with.
located in the new Grande Prairie Power Center (Best Buy, Future Shop). It's a shell right now and needs to built from scratch. 1513 sq feet. Would like a commercial contractor who will be also responsible to obtain permits necessary as well (we understand this process is quicker than if we did it ourselves). Project needs to be completed by 1st week of Feb.
We are looking to replace the carpet with laminate throughout the whole top floor excluding the bedrooms. This will include 7 stairs, living room and hallway. We are also looking to replace the lino in the kitchen with tile and the counter top, sink and faucet being replaced. We have a very large wall in the kitchen that we would like to cover with a dark stone for a feature wall. Painting of the walls in the kitchen and living room and down the hall is a must as we are very tired of the same color throughout the whole top floor.
The square footage of the house is around 1100, I estimate the renos consisting of about half of that. The house is a bi level home built in 1997.
I'm looking for a contractor in the area to help with an out of touch kitchen in need of some updates including painting (they are sollid oak doors so I would like refinished/painted) removal of overhang, New countertops, backsplash & sink, New lighting and a hook up for a gas stove. The house was built in 96 and the cupboards are still in excellent condidtions, solid oak although i feel they are outdated replacing them seems crazy. I would love to find a contractor to put it all into place but someone to paint/refinsh cupboards is what i'm desperate for! Can provide pictures if you need more of an idea.
26 year old house in need of updating. Looking to compleley redo kitchen and 2 bathrooms asap. the areas will need new design, new cabnets, flooring, new faucets ect. My husband is very good with construction and will be able to do alot of the install work himself so idealy we are looking for someone to work with.
Thanks in advance for your replys
1978 single wide mobile home with 12x16 breezeway addition in Crystal Ridge. Needs new roof, breezeway has severe water damage and needs rebuilding. I'm not sure if the frame is salvageable on the addition.
Additional work if funds permit: A wall in the living room has suffered some water damage as well. There is a 10ft window in it now and if repairs are done, I was looking at having a patio door installed instead. Subfloor in living room does require at least a partial fix as well.
While the work is a priority for the prolonged life of the house, I am also doing it for hopeful resale of the house within a few years.
Hi There,
I am looking to get some renovations done and am looking for a contractor who might be able to do them before middle of septemebr/October. The area is about 240sqft.. we want to get fake hardwood put in and will need to put two walls up making the space into a waiting area and two massage rooms. If you would be available to do this work please throw me an email with a ballpark figure of what something like this would cost?
Thanks for your help,
Caitlyn
I have what should be a fairly interesting project. The house is a 2 story built in 1939. It's a brick house with a stone basement on an acerage 10 miles west of Grande Prairie. It has the usual issues of the houses of its time, the main problem is ice dams in the winter causing interior damage.
What I want to do is to completely gut the upper story update the wiring, sprayfoam insulate and regyproc. I'd like to look into on the exterior of the roof strapping sheeting and re roofing to allow ventalation and hopefully solve the ice problems. I also want to add a dormer on the master bedroom to add more room. There is also some work I want to do on the main floor. I want to be fairly involved in the project. I'll do most of the demolition and the wiring as well as help where and when I can. I need help getting things planned and started. Most of the work needs to be done this summer. I know I'm getting off to a slow start.
