We had water in our basement so we have the bottom 2 feet of wallboard cut off in some of it. We could just repair and replace but we would like to consider some re-design as well. About 1400 sq. ft. in area. Not all wall board cut.
I will do the painting but looking for contractor for remainder.
We have a basement that we would like to have developed into an open area and two equal sized bedrooms. There is currently a bathroom in the basement but we would also like the shower redone. I am not sure how it would be done but a ventalation fan in this bathroom would also be nice.
We live on an acerage outside Sherwood Park and are looking to get started with this renovation develope a relationship with a contractor that can help us with additional projects including two major bathroom make overs, an addition to the house as well as putting on a new roof and gutters we would like to get started and keep working on these projects throughout the winter and into the spring.
We would like our basement developed. Permits were pulled but are now expired. A few internal walls have been roughed in (they are 2 X 4’s only). The basement is about 950 sq ft. There will be a bedroom with a 3 piece bath, a bar/rec room area, a storage room, and an unfinished furnace room. The staircase is finished. We will supply the materials, most has been bought already, drywall, toilet, tub etc. The ceiling is to be drywall, not drop down. Plumbing is in place for the bar. We would like the bedroom and bath finished before Christmas if possible, the rest can follow in the new year.
Unfinished basement, need to complete one bathroom from srcatch, electric work including lighting & fixture in masterbed, living room, bathroom and study room as well as to install fireplace in living room with tile works. In master bedroom need to remove and install laminate. Stairway need to install drywall ceiling, paint, door knobs, baseboard etc.
I live in sherwood park, some work already done before I move here, almost 40 percent work done.
looking forward to hear from some one who is interested in this project.
Hi I'm purchasing a house and i need to have the basement finished. It already has two bedrooms so it will just need the living area finished and a bathroom put in. It's an 800sqft house so without the bedrooms it 600sqft to be renovated. I want a 3 peice bathroom (not roughed in) and some sort of closet built around the furnace and hot water tank. Drop ceiling, laminate flooring in living area and both bedrooms, tile in bathroom, drywall and paint, stairs need to be finished, electrical needs to be done and a couple light fixtures to be hung. I understand price will vary depending on the finishes I want. Could you give me a ball park number. I'll attach a picture. We're doing house plus improvements otherwise we would have done some of the work ourselves but apparently we need to hire a contractor.
Thanks Serena
Last summer I had my basement flood due to heavy rain and a clogged storm drain. Would like to do renovations which include living room, bathroom, laundry room and a bed room. The basement is approximately 1100 square feet. Looking for reliable service at an honest price point. Budget depends on scope of work determined.
We are in the process of renovating our basement. We have started to demalish 2 walls (existing bedroom walls to open up entire pool table room) and need some help with the finishing touches, electrical, etc. The house was built in 1978. There are 2 support poles which we would like covered in columns.
Supply and install all material to complete a basement bathroom, family room, bedroom and storage room. Using two mirrored sliddind closet doors for bedroom and bathroom (between furnace area and bathroom. Install access doors to crawl space. No carpet required. Adult living duplex is around 5 years old and is roughed in.
There is water in the basement impacting two rooms from what I suspect is a cracked water line for the hose bib at the back of the house. There is water damage to walls and carpets in both rooms. Will need to cut in an isolation valve on the pipe, replace hose bib outside, then repair ceiling tiles, dry wall, repaint and re-carpet the rooms.
We are in a 17 yr-old 2,500 sqft 2 storey, with a walk-out basement that is 95% undeveloped. This is not a big project... we would like to use approximately 400 sqft of the basement for a suite that a nanny could utilize now, and that could also be used as a rental property once the requirement for a nanny has passed. We would like the suite to be self-contained and it must qualify for our area's "Secondary Suites Grant Program". The suite should have a bedroom, full bath, & kitchentte/living area. Nothing fancy, but must meet all local building codes in order to qualify for the grant.
Had bit of flood in basement, needs repair solution to water entry. Clean up-out. New lighting, ceiling tile, carpets, paint, drywall work, French doors made to separate 2 areas. New bathroom in tile with pebble floor, In floor heating in bath, new cabinetry in bath. Bar ripped out & redone. New casings around 4 doors & 4 new doors. 2 staircases re carpeted. Possible new light fixtures in whole house. I may have forgo toon something or not realized a construction fact here or there.
I am looking for a very quick (Done by end of September) and well done mini bathroom renovation. Here are some details:
Downstairs bathroom currently has a toilet and sink and has the rough in plumbing for a tub. I am looking for either a tub (preferred) or stand up shower (which ever is cheaper) put in.
- this bathroom was originally a laundry room so there is working electrical & plumbing in the wall (where I want the tub/shower). This would have to be taken out/capped for safety.
- ceiling tiled roof for easy access
I am looking for an online rough quote first and then will move onto getting a contractor to come in a quote officially the project.
Basement is sealed with steel studs up and dricore flooring is in place. We need help with the following.
- Add elect. outlets every 12' (where required)
- Encase the four vertical support beams
- frame one wall and add a door
- frame one bathroom (toilet/sink) and add a door
- Drywalling the walls
- Install T-bar ceiling
- drywall staircase
- tape/mud/prime/paint
I want to finish my basement. it currently has the framing and insulation on the wall, but the sailing is not insulated. i want an estimate of how much it would cost finishing it with one bedroom, one bath with showers (no tub), laminate flooring and laundry room, there is a little storage area and two windows. just in exploratory stage at this time. floor area is about 24 by 24 ft.
New shower installed with deramic backsplash. Has shawer there already but has leaked since installation. Bathroom size is 4'6" wide and 11 feet long. wOULD LIKE BATHROOM PUT IN CLOSET ALSO
iNSTALL SHOWER IN DOWNSTAIR BATHROOM. hAS SHOWER NOW HAS LEAKED SINCE INSTALLATION. wOULD ALSO LIKE CLOSET PUT IN.
I have an ensuite bathroom in the basement. I'm looking to move the existing door (opens from a bedroom) so it opens instead from the main area. The project involves removing the existing door, framing and drywalling the opening, cutting out the existing framing for the new doorway, and rehanging the old door and trim in the new opening. It will also require the rerouting of a light switch. The new doorway will be very close to but 90 degrees from the current one.
I'm looking to have this done in early January. Timing is critical as I don't take possession of this house until Jan 2 but I want to get this done prior to new flooring installation later in the month. My realtor can let us into the house earlier if you want to have a look beforehand.
Thank you for your consideration.
We have an approx 1000 sq ft basement that was damaged by water (not major mostly just wet rugs) in July of this year. Restoration contractor has removed carpets, walls (24" level), gutted bathroom etc so we would like an estimate for completion as could take forever through them! We also have a 3 piece ensuite, and main bath (4 piece) on main floor we would like to reno. Have cabinets, sinks, toilet and granite purchased for those.
Third project is we would also like to replace our hot water tank as it is original to house (1992) and is starting to lose heating capacity.
We want to change our finished basement into a new layout for a basement suite with a kitchen, 2 bedrooms, bathroom and living area. There is currently 1 bedroom, bathroom with a shower (prefer tub/shower)and living space. The laundry room would need to be shared. The space would need some changes to accommodate a kitchen and 2nd bedroom, but there is extra empty space in the basement not being used and the living area can be divided to accommodate a kitchen (open concept).
Need a carpenter to have a look at my basement wall where I've had seepage through a window. Will need the drywall under the window stripped, possibly re insulated / vapor barrier replaced, drywall replaced, patched / mudded for finish. A few other patches as well. If you paint as well that would be good. Require base boards and window trim once now floor is in.
