I would like my small kitchen to be opened up into existing dining room for an open floor plan concept. This would include knocking down a wall that is approximately 5' in length on one side and 3' in lenght on the other side to expose the kitchen to the dining room. The house is a 1977 bungalow.
I am either looking at replacing all the cabinents and adding an island or keeping most of the existing oak cabinents and adding an island. I would like tile in the kitchen which would be about 5.0 m x 3.5 m and I would like to have hardwood in the dining room. The kitchen already has quartz counter tops that I really like and would like to reuse them if possible. I would like to add a tile backsplash as well. In the dining room I would like to put hardwood and extend the hardwood into the living room. The dining room size is about 4.86 m x 4 m and the living room is 7.28 m x 4.90 m. Also in the dining room I would like to add garden doors to the deck. There is currently only a wall and no open space for a door so one would have to be added.
I would like to install pot lights and a nice lights over the island and dining table. I will be keeping all existing appliances. I do not need top of the line products and materials. I prefer the casual look in a kitchen.
Thanks
