looking to have a pergola built in the back yard. Three posts, anchored. Dimensions would be: 9.5' H 6' from post to post.
Hoping to cut some cost by using pressure treated wood rather than cedar.
I have a picture as a sample if you need to see it.

Hello! Looking for baseboard and trim installation for 1800 sq ft house. 12 Windows, 6 interior doors, 5 closet openings, and potentially one board/batten wall about 16' x 12'. Currently in the middle of the reno - new floors in on one level with the rest to follow mid august. All old trim has been removed. Can discuss supply of new material - either I can supply or you, whatever is best.
Hi,
I am looking for a carpenter who can finish a stalled DIY project. I planned to install a floating mudroom bench over a year ago, but the materials have languished in my basement since then! The 'floating' concept hit a snag when I discovered that there are no studs available for anchoring in at one of the end walls and the bench frame would overlap an electrical socket at other end. I am also unsure if the bench span will necessitate a center support...such that it could support the weight of 2 adults.
Photos of the room and my original design concept are attached.
What I need from someone:
1) Propose a simple bench design. While I would prefer floating (and am open to having the wall opened up to add a support beam + simply blanking off the electrical socket), I am also amenable to something with supports that extend down to the floor if finished nicely.
3) Provide me with a materials shopping list if what I previously bought is lacking. I will purchase everything directly.
2) Build the bench. I will source all materials
Bench Stats:
- 58" long x 20"deep x 18" high
- rustic look...the top will be stained a java colour, remaining supports/trim to be painted to match existing room baseboards. (I have both stain and paint on hand).
Schedule:
The completion of this bench is to be a surprise for my husband's birthday, so some stealth is required! I am looking for someone to assess the situation between March 8-11, then build in one day on either March 15 or 29th.
Budget: <$500 (for labour)
paint/install moulding around 6 doorways, 5 closet doors, and 2 larger sized windows
paint/install baseboards in two hallways and possibley kitchen
We know roughly the style of mouldings and baseboards - just the standard flat stock
Please include a rough estimate for supplies/materials as well.
Hi,
I'm designing a storage shelving for my client's family room. They would like a unit to go around their fireplace and to frame their TV. I'm attaching a picture of a style with cupboards in the bottom area.
The width on each side of the fireplace is 56". The wall is 8' tall. Could you please give us an approximate estimate for it? Your work looks great, we hope to do business in the future.
Thank you,
Jaqui
We are getting a new stair railing (which we need ASAP! because we currently dont have one right now..) And we need a "chunky" substantial post made to make it look up-to date and modern. I have a picture of a post I like, so I'm just looking for the right person to custom build it for me. It wont be a huge job, but in total I will need 2 bigger posts, and 1 smaller one (same style just a smaller scale.)
