Hello,
We are interested to have the bathtub, and surrounding tile of the shower replaced, as well as new shower fittings. Please see attached pictures for existing tub/tile/fittings. The tub is 30" wide x 5' long x 14.5" tall. We would like to replace the tub with a slightly taller one. Upper walls can be tile, or wall-surround kit like "Utile". Old tub/tile would need to be removed and disposed of.
We are unsure of the state of the material behind the walls. The attached pictures show some tile cracking and possibly mold. The bathroom is in 40yr old, wood-framed low-rise.
We would like to know some ballpark prices and rough timeframes, maybe worst-case/best-case, and go forward from there.
Thanks!
En-suite bathroom:
Neo angle shower stall requires replacement with acrylic base enclosure unit as poly base one is beyond cleaning. 30” vanity install to replace pedestal type basin. Vinyl tile over ceramic tile floor.
Main bathroom:
Replace 48” vanity with updated model. Vinyl tile over ceramic tile floor.
Fixtures to be hooked up, have not finalized any purchase as we are willing to talk to contractor about sourcing as well. Budget is labour only with materials extra. I can remove old cabinets and fixtures if required.
Looking for help in replacing this old bathtub faucet. It's getting harder to pull out and slips a bit when turning for hot/cold. See attached photo marked “Current Bathtub Faucet”.
Would like to replace the set, along with all shower tiles regrouted and a permanent shower curtain rod drilled/mounted into the tiles (currently only have tension pole version which sometimes slips).
Also a small extra job to fix half bathroom sink faucet i.e. got installed a bit crooked and would like that straightened.
Can send additional photos upon request. Thanks!
My mother would like to install a shower for safety's sake. The house is about 30 years old. Best contractor quote currently is $1850.
- Please send us advice on where to get a good shower door (good quality & a good deal)
**We buy the materials ourselves. So, anything everything outside that:
1. Taking out bathtub
2. Taking out 3 sides of bathtub walls
3. Installing waterproof board
4. Tiling on 3 sides up to ceiling
5. Installation of shower
6. Clean up
7. Anything else we've left out?
We're flexible on the project timelines. As my father is retiring this year, cost is a factor (definitely below $5000) - but workmanship is important!
Shoot me an email and it'll be passed along.
Kind regards,
Sean
The bathroom is 118' by 124, with two corners cut out making the space look like a Lego shape. It is the only bathroom in our two bedroom condo and currently has a 59' bathtub/shower, a toilet, a double sink and a stackable washer/dryer. We are looking to gut the entire bathroom and start fresh. Our goal is a bigger bathtub and the washer and dryer to stand side by side (rather than stacking).
We do live on the bottom floor of an apartment complex (concrete floors and 7 ft drop ceiling in the bathroom).
Gut small bathroom in a 1 bedroom condo unit and install new tub/shower, toilet, sink/faucet and new drywall as necessary. Will also require new tile on walls inside/around the new tub/shower and new tile on floor of bathroom. Also want to remove old tile and install new in the hallway and entrance area outside of the bathroom including 2 hall closets. And, install new tile on backsplash in kitchen.
Bathroom dimensions
L = 60"
W = 95"
H = 84"
Hallway dimensions
L = 116"
W = 62"
Tile in 2 hall closets, totaling dimensions
L = 122"
W = 29"
We recently purchased a condo in Burnaby, and will close and take possession of it in mid-December. One of the update projects we'd like to do is the bathroom. It's in good shape, but is a bit out of date (floor tiles, shower wall tiles, vanity, etc). It'll be a cosmetic-only update, with no known structural, plumbing and electrical changes.
I've attached 3 photos of the bathroom in its current state, to give an idea of what we are starting with. As well, the dimensions of the bathroom are 9'9" L x 4'11" W.
Let us know if you are interested in the project, so we can share more details about the design palette and materials we have in mind to help quote the job.
I have a tiling job that requires the attention of a qualified professional. Job includes floor tile with pattern in the middle of the floor, walls and shower enclosure. Job also requires Nuheat system and schluter shower enclosure installation.
Please reply for more details and a site visit to provide your estimate. Thank you
We have two bathrooms that we want renovated. We are currently purchasing materials. Vanities, basins, faucets, tub, shower fixtures, tile.
Main bath: tub w/ shower, toilet, sink. 107" x 59"
Ensuite: toilet, sink 63" x 59"
We plan to have the bathrooms gutted prior to contractor arrival. bath, toilet, vanities, sink plumbing, tub surround, We want a schedule that will allow us to keep one toilet operational during the renovation process.
if we discover issues once demo is done we will want that addressed as well.
We are looking for consultation in advance to review our plan and identify anything that we have overlooked or misinterpreted.
We are adding a second bathroom to a townhouse. The bathroom is ground level - and the concrete has already been dug up and the new pipes are run. We now need to hire professionals to install the fixtures, redo the walls and add heated flooring, tile and door. We also have to finish the closet beside the bathroom which will hold the stacking washer/dryer (already purchased) and the hot water heater. This area will also need to be tiled. We would like to get the bathroom finished before Christmas please. Then we need to redo all the rest of the flooring in the townhouse and paint. - and add baseboards and finishing touches.

I have a unit that has been rented out for the past 10 years and as I am moving back into it on June 1st am looking to have the renovations done after that date. It is a 700 sq ft unit. I would like the bathtub removed and a shower with bench seat, new toilet, current sink and cabinet removed and replaced with a pedestal sink. New lighting and mirror as well. In the kitchen we may be able to reface the current cabinets but willing to discuss replacing. Unsure yet about appliances being replaced but may do so. Also require a new surround on fireplace, installation of gas insert. New countertops required in kitchen and bathroom as well.
We want to figure out a new layout for both the kitchen and bathroom and how much everything will cost. For the kitchen, we will be getting new fridge, stove, washer and dryer. We want to move the fridge location to the left of the stove. Have a small divider (maybe around 8-9 inches) between the fridge and stove. The ground cabinets will obviously need to be removed to fit the new fridge. We want to extend the counter top on the right all the way to where the current fridge is to make room for a new front load washer/dryer combo. The counter top will enclose the washer and dryer preferably or just be covering the top but leaving the face open. Currently the washer is in between the sink and fridge. Would also like to add cabinets on the wall above the extended counter top if budget allows. Need a new backsplash as well.
For the bathroom we want to conver the bathtub to a walk in shower to make more room for the sink area. The shower will be at the corner. The toilet stays in the same position but install a new more efficient toilet. The wall dividing the sink and bathtub will need to be removed and/or pushed to the corner to where the shower would be. Extend the sink top as far as possible and hope to maybe have double vanities. The shower head currently is on the dividing wall near the sink side in case this makes a difference.
Dry wall for one of the bathroom, tiling the shower space, new shower door needed. Tile floor. Installation of the vanity we have already purchsed. Plumbing.
Master bathroom needs new tiles for both the wall and the floor. Installation of new vanity we have purchased. New shower head.
For the kitchen, we need new cabinets and tile floor.

Hello,
I'm doing a reno of my kitchen (91 SF) and a small washroom (24SF), in total 115 SqFt. I need only floor tiling. I already selected porcelain tiles, 12x24, although not purchased yet.
The kitchen borders with the family room where 3/4" hardwood would be installed (I have a sample board). I'd like to have tile floor flushed with the hardwood, with a metal trim in between.
The project should be done before May 27.
Could you please let me know your availability and approximate (or accurate) cost?
Also, in regards to tile purchasing, would you be able to purchase the tiles on my behalf, from the selected store?
Please, check attached images of both kitchen and the washroom.
Email me if you need further info.
Thank you in advance.
I am looking to renovate my bathroom ( replace bathtub, flooring and wall), my kitchen ( flooring, cabinet retouch)
and living and bed room ( carpet installation). I would love to have a synchronized modern scheme through out the unit.
The unit is 800 sqft, located in Burnaby, BC. I am purchasing furniture on my own, but would consider to allow the contractors to purchase the furniture ( tv stands, dining sets) for me, as a part of the overall renovation process.
Main - everything has been removed. An environmental company has removed asbestos and mould impacted materials. The layout will stay the same.
Require flooring, vanity ,countertop, shower, toilet, accessories, plumbing, paint
Ensuite - New vanity, flooring, toilet, accessories, removal of wall paper and paint
I'm looking for a contractor who can legally do a bathroom renovation in a wood-frame first floor condo in North Burnaby. The building is 45 years old, and as my proposed renovation involves removing/moving a wall, the strata has asked for an engineer's report stating that moving/removing the wall will not compromise the structural integrity of the building.
The bathroom is approximately 5 feet by 7. It is immediately adjacent to a bedroom closet and the plan would be to remove the wall between the two and extend the bathroom into the closet, making it approximately 5 feet by 9.
Page 2 and 3 both involve installing a new deep soaker tub in at right angles to the original tub. It would not be necessary to move the existing plumbing significantly, although the drain would probably need to be replumbed. There would need to be a new tile or solid surface surround for the tub, and a pony wall at one end. The existing toilet would be replaced in the same location with a new water efficient toilet and none of the plumbing would need to be moved. The door, which opens inward would hopefully be changed to open out into the hallway.
Page 2 shows leaving the existing sink and vanity in their current locations, and Page 3 shows exchanging the existing sink and vanity for a much smaller unit, either a standing or floating pedestal sink, or a sink and small vanity.
The flooring would be linoleum, with the option of installing a small section of electric radiant floor heating, as this outside room has no heat otherwise.
Looking only at the outside of the existing bathroom there is a possibility for significant water damage once the current fixtures are removed.
I am available today or tomorrow (January 5 and 6) or next Wednesday (January 12) for an on-site visit during normal business hours, or any evening. I'm hoping for estimates for both options (pages 2 and 3). I would also like to use recycled materials where practical and possible, so please take this into account when preparing an estimate.
Thanks.
