We would like to update and modernize the kitchen in our condo. The condo was built in 1995, and nothing has been updated since. We are the owners of the condo.
It's a typical condo sized kitchen measuring 80" by 125".
These are our rough preferences, though we're rather flexible:
Floors - replace the existing tile with new tiles
Counters - replace the laminate counters with quartz or something like it
New appliances - stainless steel, dispose the existing ones
New sink / fume hood
Maybe new doors on cabinets (not sure if we need it)
Please contact us via email. We look forward to hearing from you.
Hi,
I would like to redesign my 20-year old kitchen with the objectives of having more countertop space, more storage and updated, more modern looks.
Cabinets, countertop, backsplash need to be replaced as well as the floor tiles, wall paint and window blinds.
The appliances are still quite good, so I am not expecting to change them. They include a fridge, range, dishwasher and wine cooler.
I have no idea what the budget of a reno like this would be and am hoping to see a few quotes to know what to expect.
I am the owner of my condo.
Currently the kitchen can fit, on the right hand side (where the sink is), 3 elements of 36 inches each. But there is more space for an extension in the nook area. The walls of the kitchen and the nook are not exactly aligned though, there is a 3 1/4 inch misalignment. On the other side where the range and fridge are, there is a wall to wall width of 100 inches approximately, no extension possible on that size.
Thanks,
Pierre
This is a 31 year old townhouse end unit. The bigger problems as I see them are that there is a small exhaust duct fro the furnace/hot water heater that we think would be better moved to the corner of the kitchen instead of wrapping itself across the top of the cabinent. We also would like to open up an inner wall differently. BAsically everything in the kitchen will be replaced, but the appliances and sink will stay roughly in there current locations.
We want to expand our small galley kitchen (currently 6'2 by 7') into the dining area (to create a 6'2 by approx 10'6 galley kitchen). In order to do so, we need to take down the wall between the two areas.
Our condo is approximately 24 years old. We have been told that wall is NOT load bearing. The wall is approx 6.5 feet wide, 8' tall and 5" thick, with a 2.5' wide opening in the middle (ie the current entrance into the dining area). The wall seems to be made up of wood framing and drywall.
The dining room light switch is currently on this wall and will therefore need to be rerouted elsewhere (to where ever is easiest and least expensive).
We will be putting in new cabinets and so along with the wall being taken down, we will need to have the old cabinets torn out and the walls and floors prepped for new installation.
We will also need to tear out the current tiling on the floor (approx 40-50 sq ft of what looks like ceramic tile) and have new tile laid down (approx 100 sq ft of either ceramic or slate tile)
Would like an estimate for:
1. Taking down wall
2. Tearing down cabinets and prepping walls
3. Tearing out tile and laying down new tile

I have a unit that has been rented out for the past 10 years and as I am moving back into it on June 1st am looking to have the renovations done after that date. It is a 700 sq ft unit. I would like the bathtub removed and a shower with bench seat, new toilet, current sink and cabinet removed and replaced with a pedestal sink. New lighting and mirror as well. In the kitchen we may be able to reface the current cabinets but willing to discuss replacing. Unsure yet about appliances being replaced but may do so. Also require a new surround on fireplace, installation of gas insert. New countertops required in kitchen and bathroom as well.
We want to figure out a new layout for both the kitchen and bathroom and how much everything will cost. For the kitchen, we will be getting new fridge, stove, washer and dryer. We want to move the fridge location to the left of the stove. Have a small divider (maybe around 8-9 inches) between the fridge and stove. The ground cabinets will obviously need to be removed to fit the new fridge. We want to extend the counter top on the right all the way to where the current fridge is to make room for a new front load washer/dryer combo. The counter top will enclose the washer and dryer preferably or just be covering the top but leaving the face open. Currently the washer is in between the sink and fridge. Would also like to add cabinets on the wall above the extended counter top if budget allows. Need a new backsplash as well.
For the bathroom we want to conver the bathtub to a walk in shower to make more room for the sink area. The shower will be at the corner. The toilet stays in the same position but install a new more efficient toilet. The wall dividing the sink and bathtub will need to be removed and/or pushed to the corner to where the shower would be. Extend the sink top as far as possible and hope to maybe have double vanities. The shower head currently is on the dividing wall near the sink side in case this makes a difference.
Rip out old carpet and put in tile or laminate for the kitchen as well as dishwasher maybe new cabinets, new exhaust hood, at least new fixtures in kitchen and bath.
Time is also my main concern. This was posted before but due to budget problems and family obligations it was put on hold
I would like and estimate and if possible get both done at the same time.
I'm not interested in anything fancy just a basic look.
This is for a small apartment.
It's a renovate to sell project.
Dry wall for one of the bathroom, tiling the shower space, new shower door needed. Tile floor. Installation of the vanity we have already purchsed. Plumbing.
Master bathroom needs new tiles for both the wall and the floor. Installation of new vanity we have purchased. New shower head.
For the kitchen, we need new cabinets and tile floor.
Condo (Strata) in Burnaby Lougheed Mall.
Would like to replace cabinets, countertop, and to put tiles on the floor in the kitchen which is about 8'x6' big.
Also, in the bathroom about 8x4' would like to change a bathtub along with tiles, toilet, sink, vanity and counertop, putting ceramic tiles on the floor.
In the powder room about 8x3' big, I would like to install a ceramic tiles on the floor, and to chang a vanity, sink and the toilet.
Hello,
I'm doing a reno of my kitchen (91 SF) and a small washroom (24SF), in total 115 SqFt. I need only floor tiling. I already selected porcelain tiles, 12x24, although not purchased yet.
The kitchen borders with the family room where 3/4" hardwood would be installed (I have a sample board). I'd like to have tile floor flushed with the hardwood, with a metal trim in between.
The project should be done before May 27.
Could you please let me know your availability and approximate (or accurate) cost?
Also, in regards to tile purchasing, would you be able to purchase the tiles on my behalf, from the selected store?
Please, check attached images of both kitchen and the washroom.
Email me if you need further info.
Thank you in advance.
I am looking to renovate my bathroom ( replace bathtub, flooring and wall), my kitchen ( flooring, cabinet retouch)
and living and bed room ( carpet installation). I would love to have a synchronized modern scheme through out the unit.
The unit is 800 sqft, located in Burnaby, BC. I am purchasing furniture on my own, but would consider to allow the contractors to purchase the furniture ( tv stands, dining sets) for me, as a part of the overall renovation process.
We are wanting to renovate our kitchen. Our house is 13 years old and in good condition. We want to remove a wall that separates the kitchen and family room and are looking for a contractor who is experienced with removing load-bearing walls. We do not think it is load-bearing wall but want to make sure we have a contractor that is experienced in case it is. We would also like to change the floors, backsplashes and add more lighting in the kitchen and family room. We also need to rearrange our electrical outlets. We are looking for a contractor who is experienced, insured and affordable.

Hello. We are looking to renovate our small 8 x 8 condo kitchen.
New cabinets, quartz countertops, and under cabinet lighting required.
Drywall above the upper cabinets will be cut to enable new cabinets to reach near the ceiling to gain more storage space. The existing drywall in this area has already been checked and there are no electrical or plumbing barriers. Asbestos testing has also been completed and results are negative.
We will be keeping our existing ceramic tiled floor.
Appliances already ordered i.e. stove, overhead microwave range, fridge, dishwasher. Will also be ordering a garburetor. Cabinets must accommodate the appliances, so measurements should be taken to ensure a good fit.
We will also require a new modern style single sink and faucet.
Design plans have already been completed, along with scope of work and virtual photos of completed project. All that's needed is your cabinet, countertop and backsplash samples to then enable an accurate quote.
Start of project would be late July at the earliest.
Budget listed should include all tax and building permits.
Thanks!
I've got a 1300 sqft townhome in Burnaby, house is built in 2002, I've got a 3 yr old toddler at home like the contractor to be considerate of that we'll need to live through the Reno and would like to keep the timeline tight about 1.5 week. Also may need help removing furniture for reno.
Project #1
I'd like to install engineered hardwood on all the floors not including stairs.
Project #2
Replace appliances and install (range, fridge, diswasher)
Replace counter and sink with (Granite)
Plan for the kitchen is done. Cabinets are being put in by Home Depot Week of Jan 7. Need help with getting permit to remove a wall. Will help demo the kitchen. Need to make pass-through opening bigger. Need tile backsplash put in after cabinets in, need some electrical work done- new outlets and lighting. Need the ceiling redone as it is textured and by removing the wall the ceiling won't match. Need some drywall done. No plumbing needed. Laminate or hardwood floors to be put in for the 500 sq ft main floor after kitchen done.
Before Jan 7 need to remove wall, expand pass-through and redo ceiling.
Have chosen glass tile backsplash.
We are looking into getting rid of the wall that is in between our kitchen and family room to make a bright open concept kitchen. We think that the wall is load-bearing but we are not 100% sure. In addition we want to change our countertops, floors, backsplashes, lighting and appliances. And we are hoping to save money on our wood cabinets by getting them painted over instead of buying new ones. Our kitchen is average sized, our house is 13 years old and in good condition but in need for a renovation. We are looking for an experienced contractor who is especially familiar with removing load-bearing walls.
Thank you
Angela
