Unfinished basement about 829 SF, framed. Need one bedroom, one full bathroom, one flex room, one wet bar and one small laundry room. Rest space to be an entertainment / additional living room.
Additional projects are reno bathroom in master bedroom, and reno the kitchen (still deciding whether to reface the cabinets or replace)
I need to change the layout of my ground level already completed basement. Currently, there is an in-law suite with separate entrance and also two separate adjacent rooms in my basement that are used by us living upstairs.
I would like to knock down the wall between the two adjacent rooms downstairs to make it into one large area. I would also like to put a kitchenette in that room to turn it into a bachelor suite. Finally, I need to find a way to soundproof the walls in the bachelor suite so that the sound between the two units (bachelor suite and in-law one bedroom suite) wouldn't be an issue.
The suite in basement of 15 year old single house is finished, but needs to be remodeled to up the codes for legalization. There is detailed assessment report from the inspector of Coquitlam city hall.
The following areas need work but not limited to:
Thicker Drywall for the ceiling
Second door to outside
One window needs to be wider
Plumbing
Home basement, partially finished with drywall and insulation on exterior walls and a half bath washroom. Electrical and fireplace roughed-in.
The plan is to finish the bsmt into a suite w 2 bdrm, living room + kitchen. Expand half bath to include a shower/tub. Needs interior wall/door/closet framing, electrical plugs and light fixture, floor and ceiling, + kitchen cabinets and counter.
start asap.

Want to know if it is possible to build a washroom in the
basement of a townhouse, other units have 2 piece bathroom,
but I do not know if it is possible to put a shower, would like
somebody to come and take a look if this is possible first.
Washer and dryer are in the basement,
I also need carpeting and kitchen cabinets for the near future,
the t/house is in need of complete renovation.
I am the owner of a townhome in Coquitlam, I am looking to have some work done to the basement that has been finished but in need of an update.
- Currently there is a small kitchen area that I would like ripped out
- New laminate floor throughout (approx. 300 sq feet). Currently there is carpet throughout
- Removal of old bathtub and installation of a new one
Two parts to this project. The basement is already finished with permits. The building is 12 years old.
1) remove load bearing wall (12 feet long) Drywall has been removed. The purpose is to open up space to allow a pool table and media room. Basement was previously divided into many rooms. This involves moving plumbing in the wall.
2) Excavating 10 feet in side yard to add exterior stairwell and door. A 3X3 foot window is in the location now. Will involve cutting concrete.
We are open to other ideas. the goal is to get exterior access and create a teen-friendly space.
We are serious, and will entertain serious enquiries.
We are looking at making an offer a new build in Coquitlam with an unfinished basement. Studs, concrete floor etc. Plumbing rough in for bathroom.
It's a 3 level home with above ground basement, has separate entry.
What we are looking for is to build a 2 bedroom legal suite without it's own meter (approximate size 1250 sqft with full bath, kitchen & laundry, baseboard heat, laminate flooring.
Home will be completed approximately December 2016 when the suite can be accessed.

I have a Basement Suite legalization project here in Coquitlam, BC near Lougheed Mall. The project already has its City of Coquitlam Assessment Letter, approved City Plans and has just passed plumbing and initial stages of electrical and carpentry/drywall. I need a general contractor who can come in, assess with the City in what is necessary to complete the job so that the remaining work get passed. I'm looking for someone who can start immediately.
Please feel free to call Rudy.

Brand new Morningstar Built home. 3 stories, with an in ground unfinished basement. Approx. 1000 sq.feet. Plumbing is existing for a bathroom. We would like one bedroom with a closet, a mud room, a media room and then a multi fuction room. It's in ground so therefore it's exposed concrete. Bathroom and mudroom we would like tile on the floor and the media room and bedroom we would like carpet and the multi function room possibly lamiate flooring. We would like recessed lighting in some of the rooms. We also want contractors that are licensed and have WCB and good references. Thank you
Approximately 900 sq ft.
Plans available (attached).
Basement is currently empty so it will need framing, bathroom, some minor electrical (most outlets already present), ceiling drywall/mudding/painting, flooring (laminate), baseboards, trim, etc.
Bedroom is to go at the back of the basement and bathroom in between it and the furnace.
Same laminate flooring as shown in photo.
All duct work will be done in advance.
Also need to add a closet and doors on the finished room (see photos).
I would like to create a legal basement suite in my 1960s house I just bought in central Coquitlam. We need to build two bathrooms and two separate laundry rooms. I would need a contractor who is knowledgeable of the Secondary Suite Program in Coquitlam and all the red tape involved with permits, drawings, codes etc. I do work in the construction industry but due to lack of time, unable perform all the requirements involved with the renovation. We are looking to spend between $20-$30 thousand.
I have just purchased a new home in Coquitlam and am looking for a contractor who can complete my unfinished basement (about 1300 square feet) and make it into a large 1 bedroom or 2 bedroom suite that I can rent along with a rec room that I can keep for my kids. The suite will have a full kitchen and bathroom and I would like to include a stackable washer and dryer aswell. The plumbing is already roughed in. I have a link below that shows you what the unfinished basement floor plan looks like. Not sure if your familiar with the Burke Mountain area and the new developments up there but they have 3 showhomes that are open for viewing. We bought the one with the walkout basement. Thanks.
Currently my home does not have a backyard basement access and we would like to have one. There really is only one spot that would work for us in the back. Aluminum siding and concrete retaining wall.
Want to create a door where window is and have steps down into house if possible instead of digging out concrete and having stairs outside.
This unfinished basement room was once our workshop and we would like to convert it into a bedroom; it is the size of a small bedroom; our house was built in the 60's. The room needs flooring and walls. We have already purchased laminate flooring; Please give an estimate, thank you! We would like to have it done before august.
