I have a 9 foot fireplace that juts out from the wall about 1 foot. To the sides of the fireplace, I want to install some floating cabinets and shelves. In particular, I would like the following:
1. One floating cabinet about 8" off of the floor, with a length of about 59", a height of about 24" and a depth of about 16". The cabinet would have two shaker style doors (or something similiar), with centre cut outs that have Richeliu wire mesh. Inside the cabinet, we would like a vertical divider, plus a centre shelve on each side of the divider.
2. One floating cabinet about 8" off of the floor, with a length of about 42", a height of about 24" and a depth of about 11" (Please note there is a window sill to the far right of this cabinet which juts out a bit. As such for the cabinet door to open, we would need to have it offset from the wall, but we still want the cabinet to look like it goes right up to the wall). The cabinet would have two shaker style doors (or something similiar). This cabinet would have a centre shelve, possibly on a track so it can be pulled out and pushed back in with ease
For both of the cabinets, there will be cut outs required inside the cabinet to accomdate plugs for electricity and cable.
3. I would like 2 floating shelves about 42" long, 12" deep and 3" in height (Note, the shelves do not have to be a solid 3". Instead, the shelves could be 1" with a front piece that makes them look like they are 3")
4. I would like a valence/shelve that is flush with the ceiling and holds 2 pot lights. The valence would be 42" long, 12" deep and 4" in height. I have an electrician who can install the lights and wiring, but I need to make sure there are spots for the lights.
5. I would like a valence/shelve that is flush with the ceiling and holds 4 pot lights. The valence would be 59" long, 12" deep and 4" in height.
I am open to the use of wood, MDF, and other materials. Regardless of the material, I want all the shelves and cabinets to be painted a white semi-gloss or be polyurethane.
Please note this project is being done in a newly built wood frame duplex (the home was completed in March 2012).
My main goals for this project are achieving a quality look, ensuring the cabinets and shelves are installed correctly, but finding ways to keep costs down. For example, the use of 1" shelves but adding a front piece that makes the shelves look like 3" - this gives me the desired look, without the cost.
Also, I am on a tight timeline. I want the cabinets and shelves completed by the week of August 20th and the sooner the better.
Unfortunately I do not have time to do in home consultations right now, so I am requesting quotes via email or phone. I can answer any questions you may have via phone.
Thank you for taking the time to provide me a quote.
