I have just moved 3 weeks ago to a 3 year old mobile home in Coquitlam, BC. I have two entrances with 4 stairs each and a landing that was built by the previous owner for the stairs. Stairs are only 7" wide - need them to be built to code and non-slip as I am waiting for a knee replacement and will be on crutches for a length of time. I believe treated deck boards would suffice but am open to any cost-effective ideas.
I would like to cover the two door entrances with come sort of canopy - very simple and not requiring a building permit.
I would like to have a 1 car carport built out of wood as this is one of the materials that the City of Coquitlam only requires a standard drawing to be submitted for obtaining their Building Permit, which the Bylaws of my mobile home park state I need to have. I have an e-mail from the City setting out their specifications. I do not need architectural or stamped engineering drawings if the carport is out of wood. Nothing can be attached to the mobile so it needs to be free standing. I have a driveway that is long enough for at least 3 car lengths and approximately 4-5 feet of grass area the same length abutting the driveway as part of my property.
