We have a blank wall in our living room that we would like to add a fireplace to with built ins on either side, with some millwork going up to the roof.
We would like an electrical fireplace insert. We have white stone to go on the fireplace and would like a thick, rustic wood mantel.
We would like white built in cabinets or drawers on either side for entertainment units and a shelf on the top for decoration.
The TV will be mounted on the wall above the mantel and we would like some millwork going to the roof to frame out the TV.
The wall is approximately 7'7" wide.
The attached photos are rough ideas from Pinterest - although our wall is of course smaller - and we would only want the cabinets/drawers about 2/3 of the way up the fireplace and then a shelf and blank wall above to the ceiling for art.
We have a small physio clinic we need to maximize some space. Our entire reno will consist of flooring, re and re of two built in desks, re and re of shelves and cabinets, and cutting a new closet entrance, and re-drywalling old closet entrance. We also need a door framed in, and mirrored. We are basically moving a reception desk and a secondary computer work station, to allow for more gym space. We would also be changing the flooring at this time, then repainting, but I think I have people lined up for that already.
15 year old executive style home.
My kitchen presently has traditional style oak face-frame cabinets, doors with recessed panels - I think. The upper cabinet doors have what I believe is called a Hampton Arch. The finish colour is medium. I wish to update the look by painting all the cabinetry and doors light - not white exactly but more an antique cream colour. I also want to get rid of the arch on the upper cabinet doors if possible- I am not sure if the whole door itself will have to be replaced or perhaps some of the panels changed to glass. I am open to recommendations on that point. Also the upper cabinets end about 12 inches from the ceiling and I want them to continue right up to the ceiling, at least visually, all the way around with the existing molding (which should be fine) moved up. I also wish some functionality in the new upper area, perhaps some cabinet doors which open upwards, a wine rack etc. I would also like to consider the options of an appliance garage and having the microwave shelf/opening reworked (as our microwave is over the range instead). I will also be retiling the backsplash and chainging the countertops but assume that would be part of a different quote with another contractor (?). Preferrably I would like to have someone who can assist with all of these matters.
