We will shortly be building a spec home in Maple Ridge which is approximately 2800 sq ft. We are looking for quotes from reputable drywallers to complete the boarding, taping and filling for the whole house. Work will start in the next couple of months. Please email me if interested with your company details and I will send you plans of the house over.
We have a large media room (17x13) that we would like to put a wall up to create a bedroom and the remaining space to be an open study/office nook. We would need someone to frame a wall & closet, move electrical so there is a light switch in both rooms, drywall tape/mud. We also have a nook above the fire place that we would like square off (remove decorative squares) and opened up to place TV above fire place (See pic attached).
We will also be looking to hire painters to paint our main floor (kitchen, living room & foyer) and up the stairway into the hallway and the new bedroom. Approx 1000 sqft. A separate quote for the painting is good.
The house is about 39 years old and has gone through a lot of renovations in the last three years. We are trying to complete the basement. The basement ceiling height is not standard and is only about 6'5'' in total from floor to ceiling. The area to be dry-walled is the ceiling of a long narrow hallway and the two alcove ceilings at either end of that hallway, it isn't a large area, but there are two sets of copper piping that run across under the joists in two spots and the drywall would have to be somehow boxed or something over them. Also along the outer edge where the top of the walls meet with the ceiling there is no wood bracing to screw the drywall into. Originally the house had an old drop panel ceiling with flimsy wooden cross bars to hold it up. It wasn't very good and made the ceiling height even shorter and the whole area dark. There is one fluorescent light that has been build down from the ceiling so that the dry wall can be put in behind its flange. It would be nice to have the drywall, mudding and taping to be done by someone professional. Basically I just want the ceiling done and prepped so my husband can sand and paint. I figure it should only take a day or two tops to complete.
We have recently ripped out our kitchen and installed a new patio door (same room).
I will be hanging new drywall around the sliding door and where the back splash was this week.
I need a good mud and tape guy to come fix it up.
There is a few places on the texchured ceiling that need fixings as well.
