We have a small condo kitchen with a corner sink and it's u-shaped with open counter onto the dining room. We're looking at possibly making it a walk-through, create more cupboard space, want to get rid of corner sink even if walk-through isn't possible.
Electrician: need an electrician to look at our stove as we cannot use the oven and a top burner at the same time.
The kitchen measures 9' x 16',has a u shaped area of counter space of 10' along the 16' side on both sides which includes a 30" is fridge, stove/microwave/fan, and dishwasher.
Along the outside (16') wall there is a 10' window and a small 35" window along the 9' wall opposite the stove area. The rest is sitting area with an opening to a small 9'x9' den. We would like to replace cabinets and flooring (at the moment is tile in kitchen, carpet in den). The height is 9' in both. Also a built in sitting space at a counter would be nice to enjoy the view we have. Hope you can give us some ideas.
Hi there,
We live in a 2-bedroom townhouse. We are looking at renovating our kitchen, particularly to add more storage and maximize the space that is available. We have 9' ceilings.
Details:
- We would like to remove a partial wall next to the kitchen sink. Some electrical is needed as the wall switch on one side of the wall needs to be relocated.
- On the side where the electric stove is (approx. 11'-12' across), we currently have cabinets that are 30" high. We would like to remove the bulkhead and install new cabinets right up to the ceiling. We would also like to replace the stove fan with a "over the stove microwave fan".
- On the side where the kitchen sink is, we would like to remove and install new doors only and replace the bottom trim.
- On the side where the fridge is (approx. 4'-5'; opposite the stove), we would like to install new cabinets, a bar fridge and counter next to the fridge.
- new countertop; either quartz or granite
We have a rough schematic and measurements on what we were thinking. Please email me and I can send you photos and the drawings.
Let me know if you have any additional questions.
Thanks
The room is about 7ft by 6ft with about a 7ft wall on one side that separates the kitchen from the hallway. I want to remove that wall. The building inspector has confirmed that this is not a load baring wall. There is a drop down ceiling in the kitchen, but not in the hallway so we may or may not change that as needed. The Wall has 2 light switches which will need to be re-located, 2 electrical outlets which can be removed and a Thermostat that needs to be re-located. Also the wall sits on a tile and grout floor which may need to be replaced in part or whole. If the whole tile floor is replaced it will include the eating area (6ft by 5ft) and the hall (12ft by 4ft approx). The house will be empty till some time in November and was built in 1991.
We have a L shaped kitchen counter to be replaced 78 inches long to the wall , then 35.5 inches then an opening for a stove, then another 44 inches. Looking for a white countertop either a granite or quartz (depending on pricing and grain in the stone) We are also wanting to replace the backsplash with a white subway style tile.
U shaped kitchen counter with corner sink needs removal and replacing, with removal and installation of dishwasher. 88" along the back wall. Left wall counter is 45 1/2" with the corner sink. Right wall counter is 34". Existing oak cabinets (look to be constructed of flooring material) to stay. Sink is 20x20 5/8" with existing faucet. Measures approx. Have spoken with Cabinet Warehouse about a laminate counter top but need someone to do the work.
Would appreciate estimate for removal and installation. Projected deadline for 1st week in March.
Bathroom partial reno-remove bath surround and install tile on wall, and bath to floor wall, redo floor with lino or tile
Kitchen partial- replace stained white since with new white sink, replace counter tops with nicer- granite or look alike rather than 50's style.
Repair floor- grout come loose
Eves. replace overhang/eve over front door, and on side door
Repair tiles and grout small bedroom patio deck (very small)
Living room to kitchen wall - make an opening in it like a window (no glass)
replace existing laminate with brown/white stone looking finish. There are several awkward angles to consider. Would prefer if joints were invisible.
Replace 5 cabinet door faces - white vinyl type covers
The budget including the cabinet doors would be higher than just for the counter top. - Total up to $1500
