In our North Vancouver home, we have an attached mudroom, 6' x 20'. It had a concrete slab floor that had settled slightly, apparently because of poor compaction of underlying soil. The adjoining house is on a crawl space and the foundations are fine. To examine the foundations for a now complete 2nd floor addition, we removed a little more than half the mudroom concrete slab.
Now we need the remaining concrete removed (about 45 square feet), the subbase properly prepared and compacted and a new concrete slab poured.
I will be looking for a concrete Placer and finisher for a backyard patio
Dimensions approximately 20 feet by 15 feet
Curb one side approximately 20 feet and 4 to 6 inches high
Coloured concrete dark grey/slate
Finish is to be simple control joints 3 foot square pattern at 45 degree angle to the patio alignment about 1 inch deep
I will form, prepare base and place reinforcing steel so looking for a good finisher as this is out of my comfort zone
I am several weeks away two having the forms in place (I have some stumps to remove) and will await the good weather
I have an existing 12' x12' cement patio which is 31 years old and in very good condition. There has bee no settling or sinking. It has one or two non-problematic cracks.
I would like to extend the length of the patio by approx. 18 to 24" and the side by 10 to 12". The existing patio has a natural pebbled stone look. To the extent possible I would like to see the same look on the addition. A perfect match is not critical since the addition will largely be covered with planters.
The landing area and 3 steps leading down from the house to the patio need to be replaced. The new landing area will extend about 38 to 40" out from the slididing doors with a width of approx 12 to 13'. The drop from the top of the landing area to the surface of the patio is 28". I would like the drop between steps to be between 5 to 6" and the step-on depth approx 10 to 12". The exact width and design of the steps I need some help with.
There is a matching walkway that extends out from the patio to the edge of the house with 2 steps leading to the side of the house. It too is in good condition. If it, and the patio, could be treated/covered so they all blend into the same pebbled stone look that would be ideal. I'm guessing the walkway is 2.5' wide and extends for 20 to 25'.
I trust that gives you enough info. to get a picture of what we're hoping to accomplish.
Thanks for your consideration.
I have a garage that sits 3.5" below the level of the rest of the house. I am converting the garage into livable space. The garage currently is slab on grade.
I need a concrete pour to raise the floor level to the same as the rest of the house.
Dimensions, 10'x17' depth 3-3.5"

We are looking for someone to come and frame and prepare an 18' x 18' concrete slab for a backyard shed. We have cleared the site for the slab but have now come to the part that we do not have the tools to continue the project on our own. The shed is 10' x 10' which is within building restrictions for North Vancouver and that we already have in a kit ready to go but we will be doing the assembly ourselves. We really require the help for the concrete slab and need someone with experience in dealing with a large concrete area. Please contact me if you have any questions with regard to this project or if able to do the job.
We have about 20 varying rise and run outdoor stairs down form the street to our house and around to the back, that have stone risers and concrete tops. They are 20 years old and need to be refreshed in some way, Looking for options, either just replacing the concrete tops, maybe putting slate tops on them and freshening the fronts, or some kind of stamped concrete or tile. We can start immediately and are looking for someone with a good reputation and some ideas and the time to get the job done right.
Thanks.
We have a concrete deck surrounded by stone wall that needs to be renovated.
The work involves
1) Remove 'block' railing around deck and replace with glass panels and railings
2) Repairing or replacing stone walls surrounding deck and elsewhere on property
3) Refinish deck surface
4) Repair concrete stairs leading to deck
5) Repair or replace surface of separate concrete patio
The photos below show about 1/2 the deck. The total deck is approx 20 ft x 34 ft.
There are 3 sets of stairs to repair.
Approx 250 sq ft concrete patio needs resurfacing. looking at painting it but water does not run toward the drain like it should so we probably need to add levelling compound or something to help with that first.
Please let me know if you would be able to help with this resurfacing work and what the cost might be.
Thank you,
Stephanie.
