I want to remove the existing blown insulation and replace it with a similar blown insulation product. Reason: a squirrel has made a mess in the insulation and house is sold. I have agreed to replace the insulation for the new buyers. Attic space is approximately 350 square feet and house is 26 years old.
I live in a rental apartment and I have electric heat. I do not think that the outside wall is insulated because I can feel a draft plus my electric bill is extremely high. The owners will not do anything about it so I would like a quote and I will pay for it myself. With the information that I have read I think that blow in insulation might do the trick but I would think that you would be better to advise on that.
Thank you
Brenda
Amateurs enclosed a 2-car garage before I bought this house and when they installed the insulation in the ceiling, they neglected to put down a vapor barrier first. Room size: 20' x 16'. The existing insulation is blown in.
More insulation should be added in the whole attic too.
The perimeter walls of the crawlspace also need insulating. (Warning: This crawlspace is very low and difficult to move around in.) House size: 1300 sf (approx.)
Year of construction: 1985
Bedroom #1, #2, and #3 (all are approximately 11' x 12'):
(1) Tear down and discard the original drywall including interior and exterior walls and the ceiling
(2) Remove the old insulation
(3) Install new insulation
(4) Install new sound proofing insulation
(5) Install new drywall
Please quote separately:
