A year in the doing, we recently had our condo kitchen cabinets refaced, new floors installed, and a partition wall removed. Now all we need is for someone to help us with finishing work to complete this long process and allow us to fully enjoy our vision! It has been nearly impossible to find someone reliable and professional to complete our vision, please help us out! We own our suite and are ready to start right away. Our kitchen area is about 10'x10'.
We require (attached photos for visual):
- electrical (install pendant over new island, remove florescent lighting, install LED pot lights, install under cabinet strip lighting, remove garburator, remove and add switches)
- create and install wood floating shelves with hidden brackets (see attached pictures) above sink
- new sink and faucet
- quartz countertops in main kitchen area and island
- install minimalist hood fan in cabinet
- install magic corner unit in corner cabinet
- tile backsplash
- drywall patching from above electrical work
This work may lead to bathroom renos in the near future as we are looking into upgrading the rest of the condo as well.
Thank you for your consideration. We hope to hear from you soon.
Jen & Trevor
I am a prospective buyer about to close on a condo purchase in the next 2-3 weeks. Condo is in Surrey BC and is 17 years old. I need to mention that the condo has recently suffer from a leaky water heater from the penthouse above and is due for restoration this week. Home inspection services to be carried out following its completion.
We would like to conduct the following projects on the house but the ability to conduct them all at the same time would depend on the quote and its fit within our budget. The sizes of the rooms are all based on the MLS listing.
The kitchen is 8' X 6' with an eating area of 8' X 7'8". The cabinets and doors are fairly dated - we would ideally like to refinish the cabinets and put in new doors and fittings. We would like to replace the laminate countertop with a stone that does not allow seepage. We will also be replacing the appliances. The kitchen laminate flooring needs to be replaced with durable tiles. The kitchen renovation is priority.
The carpeting for the living room (14' X 13'9), dining room (10'6 X 8'6), family room (15'8 X 10'7), master bedroom (12'9 X 11') and 2nd bedroom (11'6 X 10'1) to be replaced with laminate flooring.
DIY crown moulding gone wrong in the living room - to be fixed.
Some tiling work to be done by the gas fire place.
The bathtubs and backsplash in BOTH bathrooms (possibly fibreglass units) would need to be replaced with more appealing options. Cabinets to be re-finished and doors to be replaced. Tiles to be replaced.
While I understand that this is pretty abstract, this is unfortunately all the information I can provide given my limited access to the condo.
I would ideally like ROUGH cost (material + labour) and time estimates for each of the major projects I have listed above to prioritize and budget. Do let me know if you have any questions.
We'd like to open up our living room and kitchen, but need to replace two load bearing walls. Work is partially complete, need someone to guide us through the permit process and finish up any work needed to pass inspection. Some electrical work and plumbing may be required. Need it done ASAP. FYI, this is a very small project, and we do not wish for anyone to turn it into a big one.
If you are looking for making a big buck, please do not waste time. Otherwise, we appreciate you spend time and effort to help us in advance!
Hi, I'd like to get quality work done for the following projects at a reasonable price:
Crown molding in living/dining space, 2 bedrooms
Painting 2 bedrooms (small), living, dining room and kitchen
Replace kitchen cabinets, tiling in kitchen floor
Total square footage not more than 1200 sf.
I have broken this down into 3 projects.
1) I live in a 2 story townhouse (Strata) with a slab foundation. I am looking at removing and/or modify an interior partion on the main floor. If the partition is deemed to be a load bearing wall. I would like to consider other options with modification such as increasing the size of the existing window for the installation of french doors.
2) I would like to update some of the lighting in my kitchen and family room areas. Currently there is track lighting in the kitchen. I would like to remove this and add recessed lighting. I would also like to add 2 hanging lights over the sink/work area of the kitchen counter. In the family room, I would like to add some recessed lighting.
3) I would like to replace my existing kitchen laminate counters with either Corian or Granite. I would also like to replace the sink and faucet. The existing cabinets will remain.
Our home is about 26 years old, 3 bd room & den, it's a split level home, with a railing between the kitchen & family room.
The project we are interested in having renovated is mainly the kitchen, with some work done possibly to the main bathroom upstairs as well. The bathroom mainly needs the tub to be replaced or refinished, and a vent to be installed in all bathrooms in our home (3), and we'd listen to any other ideas for possible upgrades.
The kitchen is our main renovation, as it currently has a drop ceiling, which we would like to be taken out, with more modern lighting put in the ceiling. We have updated all the windows in our home, so moving windows is not an option, but my wife wondered also if it would be wise to move the wall between the kitchen & dining room would be wise?
I suspect doing so would make the whole renovation much more costly, but would be interested in hearing if this solution to a larger kitchen would be a worthwhile possibility?
My thoughts where in wondering if it would hurt the sale of our home down the road, in not having a dining room...albeit a much larger kitchen?
We "have" had our current cupboards refinished, so we are unsure at this time whether they are salvageable or if they should be replaced. Obviously if the dining room issue where to be implemented, they would have to be replaced I believe, so we are unsure of the end cost, since we haven't committed to what would be the best solution for us at this point.
Initially, we where just going to replace all our appliance (still have to do this) but we found the type of refrigerators on the market today, and one in particular that my wife wants, won't even fit where our current fridge is! This brought on the "time to renovate" issue, where we thought adding new life to the room, plus making it more useful with updates might be possible. We currently have no pantry, so our current cupboards have more in them than we'd like, the countertop and backsplash are dated as well, so that is a priority as well.
The kitchen is about 14' 8" long and 11' 6" wide (with 3 stairs in one corner going down to the family room. There is a 30" doorway leading to a 9' X 11' 6" dining room at one end, with the other end having a railing overlooking the family room.
We would like to include the current rebate program that is running with this project as well. We are just starting the "renovation" issue, so we have no idea on the end costs, thus no idea on what to budget for, thus hope a contractor can help us figure out some final costs.
Thanks for your time.

We live in a townhouse (strata) in South Surrey. We want to replace our laminate kitchen countertops with new countertops (probably quartz) . The total area of our countertops is approximately 40 square feet. We also need a new kitchen sink and faucet, and a new dishwasher. In our ensuite bathroom, we would like to replace our small shower stall with a larger one.
We currently have a kitchen project underway, which basically is a kitchen renovation. Our current kitchen had a 12" drop ceiling throughout a large portion of it, which now has been removed. We sit in our kitchen with wires hanging (currently have an electrician) but need the drywall portion renewed.
A portion (over the table area, which wasn't in the 'drop') has the texture on it, but we've heard the texture will need to be removed, and once all drywall work is complete, it will need to be re-texured?
It's unknown to us if where the glue for where the backsplash once was, if that drywall will need to be removed/replaced, or if the glue can be removed, or ground off? There eventually will be a new backsplash going in approximately the same place, so we're unsure of the importance of getting this exact?
Until we talk to someone regarding this "somewhat smaller" job, we're unsure of all the ramifications of getting things so it's ready for new cabinets etc.
We currently live in the Fleetwood area of Surrey. We would like an estimate of the cost of materials and labor for the drywall work needed, the sanding and finishing so it can then be painted.
Thanks for your time!
25 year old home, original oak cabinets, 17yr old granite counters, newly (2 years) tiled floor. Area approx. 13 x 18.
Want reconfiguration to provide better flow, more storage, more counter area and an eating bar to eliminate table and chairs. New cabinets to ceiling and an efficient pantry, granite or quartz counters.
Would like to also eliminate sunshine ceiling lighting for alternate illumination. Would like to open up area between kitchen and family room, where there is now a partial wall. Currently have gas range. Five foot high crawl space under kitchen.
Our house is approximately 20 years old in good condition but requires an update of the kitchen. Kitchen cabinets are on order for a 11' by 9' kitchen with one island (60" by 42"). The quote should be for the installation of the cabinets and the flooring. The kitchen surface is 355 sqft including a bay window and we would like to install a bamboo floor. No other material than the new cabinets have been ordered. Removal of the original kitchen should be included as well.
Depending on quote and outcome of this project we will consider the update of 2 bathrooms and more flooring work.
Thanks for your quote

Change carpet to wood flooring in living room around 400 sq ft.
Change vanity, sink and faucet as well as light and mirror in the bathroom. I've attached photos to give you an idea.
Currently an outdated pennisula kitchen trying to open it up, new custom cabinets countertop, backsplash. Will also need to drywall pocket door, some plumbing required to move sink and dish washer, and some tiling may be needed because of re-configured kitchen, I have box of old tiles that currently match the kitchen floor.

We have about 5 sets(double doors) of upper cabinets and 5 sets of lower cabinets including one that is a 'lazy susan' idea. There is 8 drawers above lower cabinets.
