Hi, I have an opening in my basement and I want to have a door put in. There currently isn’t one there, so I need it framed in, drywall, trim, paint and door hung. I’ll buy the door, the exiting opening is 44 inches and I want a 36 inch door. There is nothing weird or strange with the space, it just needs a door.
Thanks!!
Hello,
I am wanting an approximate estimate for installing a door frame and door to separate a basement suite from the rest of the home. The installation needs to be reversible after the premises have been vacated.
The install location is at the bottom of a staircase leading from the main floor to the basement. From my perspective it looks like a standard width. The home is about 4 years old if that helps.
Cheers,
Egon
Kitchen has been gutted and new flooring installed. The electrical is now complete and the drywall repairs are now required. This will include the ceiling and four window installs. The bathroom is requiring the tub area drywall to be installed before tiles are inserted. A repair to the pass through from the kitchen to the dining room.
Kitchen is 10 x 16 ft. the bathroom is small 4 x 6ft. A laundry room is approx 9 x 12 and currently is fully unfinished. One window and one doorway.
The home is in Cloverdale.
I need to replace the doors on two closets in my rental suite. I'm including pictures.
The smaller doors should be an easy fix (5'10' x 7'8"). There is also a much larger sliding door, and I doubt they make this size now (7'10" x7'10"). I'm looking for ideas of how to replace it, and costs.
I also want to replace the garburator, check the dishwasher (which the tenant thinks may not seal properly), and check the bathtub for a very slow leak into the suite below.
There are currently tenants in the suite. Ideally, the work could be done in the evening, or this coming Tues or Wed (Feb 6 or 7th).
I've tried posting this before, but the guys I contacted did not follow up and cannot be reached now. I'm hoping to find somebody more reliable.
Thanks,
- Karin
We need 2 new doors for our mobile home. It is a late 70's mobile and therefore, the doors are not standard with today's doors. Would like to know if it is possible to make the opening bigger to accommodate standard doors. Would like estimates leading to assignment of job. Thanks!
We are looking for a contractor to fix water damage on our exterior.
The brick molding on the sides of the door and the 10" facia on each side of the door is rotten. Under the molding, the sheathing or plywood on the left hand side on the door has a bit of rot and the 2x4 below the door has some rot on the left side of the door. It appears that the 2x4 runs along under the left side of the wall as well. On the right side of the door under the ten inch facia the sheathing or facia has rot. We do not know the extent of this as it runs up under the vinyl siding. It is possible that the water damage is coming from the facia above that area half way up the wall. the seam on the corner was not sealed properly.
We would like to replace our current french doors with window as well. Another project we are looking at doing at the same time if possible is a shower and tile replacement in the master bedroom.
At this time we are looking for quotes that can be brought to our bank for the financing.
Some contractor screwed me over and installed my entry door like a complete hack. So now I’ve removed it, the surrounding stucco and put some flashing in the rough opening. I need someone to come make the door plumb, level, strong, etc. I tried it myself and got everything straight for the most part, but I think they twisted the frame when putting it in so I’m having trouble doing it myself.
We just bought a 38 year old house where the garage was an add-on so 2 of the bedrooms have 57"x46" single pane windows that need to be removed because they look into the garage. The garage side needs a firewall then the holes just need to be filled in and sealed. Then we'd like to cut a hole in the side of the house and add a new double pane window approxiamately the same size as ones removed though it doesn't have to be so at least one room will have a window. Right now we're just looking for an online ballpark estimate before deciding how we'll go about this. Thanks!
Good Afternoon,
This is regarding 2 defective, double-pane windows with broken seals and moisture inside and asking for a quote or estimate (either by phone of visit).
Our condo is on 18th Ave., near 152nd. St. 1 window is 22" W x 33" H..and is 1/2 of a double window and is the Non-Sliding side. The other is 1 smaller pane in a 4 pane window, the bottom left side. The two, larger upper panes are 13" W x 34" H, the two bottom panes are 13" W x 21" H.
Thanks and hope to hear from you. This is a non-emergency call.
Larry
1) I require a quote to replace a wooden window surround on the South side of my home on the upper floor - Please quote wood and Vinyl replacement.
2) Looking to replace the small wooden tops on two posts on the South side of home, main level with new wood.
3) I can supply and paint all wood and vinyl as required prior to installation, if that helps.
Hi there, we have a leak that is coming down the top of a window and has damaged the window sill. To make matters worse it is now growing black mould. We are not sure where the leak is coming from. I am not sure who to call for this. We need to get the leak fixed before we can deal with the mould.
Hello,
I live in Surrey with my family and my in laws in our basement suite. Our house is old. It's run down. And we are trying to just keep things patched up until we sell, but as all things go we are slowly seeing everything fall apart.
The main issue right now is the sliding door in our basement suite. It's currently completely off the track, and prior to that it was in mostly shambles. Of course this happens the night of the Arctic front. We have it closed enough for now, but obviously it's not going to hold.
The big issue is that the track is damaged. I bought a replacement track but clearly there was more damage than I realized on the original track, and the door never fit on properly.
My goal is to patch it up so that it’s usable as a way for my father in law to get in and out, but also keep the costs as low as possible. If it’s a fix that will work for a few years, then so be it.
We have a few other areas to be addressed. The main ones are a basic surround to cover the tile with missing grout in our bathrooms and to cover up the tubs. As well a replacement to the bathroom exhaust fan upstairs (we have the replacement but haven’t been able to install it), potential installation of an exhaust fan in the basement bathroom, help addressing excessive humidity upstairs and work to stop some leaking fibreglass roofs and leaks due to the previous owners using incorrect decking material.
Our goal is to keep the budget as low as possible. The work doesn’t need to be fancy. It just needs to get us through so we can sell at some point.
Thanks in advance.
I have a 33 yrs old house in Surrey. It has old metallic double glazed windows with rubber seals. In the winter, most of the windows have vapour condensation inside the glass. There is significant loss of heat. I am looking forward to get it fixed by repairing these windows. There are approximately 14-15 windows to be fixed.
Need 2-36 X 40 windows and 1 half moon window removed and studded in, sheathed and cedar siding replaced approx 350 sq ft, windows are side by side same wall.
Windows are on first floor 8 ' 4 off the ground.
Also need 150 sq ft of perforated soffit installed in the ceiling under the deck
Materials will be supplied
