The fiberglass bathtub in a small bathroom in a 21 year old house in Strathcona has settled so that the recessed rim catches water in the far corner. Also, the tiled wall that surround the tub enclosure leaks. I have a sheet of plastic taped over it. The room needs painting with special attention to the ceiling. I wouldn't be able to have it done until the second week in August.
The bathtub has no chips or anything, it's just an old yellow color. We would really like to get it in a white finish also there's tiles around the tub and a window and we re wondering if that's possible to get done white as well and how much would a job like that cost. There are pictures attached, we will be removing the shower glass and toilet and vanity for new ones so they will be out of the way to make the job easier.
Thank you
We are hoping to have the existing bathtub, tiles & plumbing fixtures removed and replaced. We're willing to consider a complete-unit to make things easier and hopefully a cost-saver. Could you come to check the site and give us an estimate? There may be a bit of water damage behind the faucet region.
This is a 70 year old 3 story commercial building. On main floor, accessible from rear laneway exit, Convert existing 2 toilet stalls into single Wheelchair accessible toilet; remove current "trough" system and replace with 4 urinals - replace existing wall with steel studded wall to accommodate fixtures. install pebbled finish FRP over existing bathroom tiles. For complete scope of this 16' x 10' area renovation please contact for viewing appointment. We only require 2 estimates to comply with our Non-profit organization bylaws and have one now so will not be a time waster for first professional (contractor insurance required) respondent. Please note this was posted a month ago but disappointingly the respondent did not carry through with estimate process.
We need the old carpet removed and two end kitchen walls about 24" deep each, a dropped ceiling and cabinetry removed from kitchen, old bathtub, toilet and vanity removed from bathroom. Installation of laminate or engineered hardwood throughout, except tile in the bathroom. Ceiling refinished throughout to smooth 70's style rough texture ceiling. We have chosen an IKEA kitchen to replace cabinetry and an IKEA bathroom vanity. We need these installed including all new plumbing installations to complete both kitchen and shower. Installation of a dishwasher in the kitchen where no previous dishwasher existed.
Project : condo bathroom redmodel (demo + install)
Plan : attaching remodel plan with all details + pics.
Positions of bath, toilet etc will not move, so we have been advised it's a relatively straightforward job.
*** timeline *** work needs to start and complete over approx 3 weeks in October 2017 which coincides with a separate floor renovation / insurance claim. The condo has only this 1 bathroom, we will vacate for these weeks.
A leak in a unit above mine caused water damage to my washroom walls - this was not handled properly and the walls behind my tiled tub surround are still wet. Building insurance is paying for removal and replacement of tile. I would like to do a complete bathroom reno since this is being done. The washroom is original to the condo, which was built in 1990. Here's what I would like:
Bathroom: 7'10€x4'11€
- Remove and disposal of: tile tub surround three walls, tub, large mirror that is glued to drywall, lighting, toilet, and sink cabinet (basically everything)
- Re-drywall tub surround after repairing any hidden damage
- Fill vent holes behind toilet and above mirror created by restoration company
- Paint all walls and ceiling (which is textured)
- install new: bathtub (60"x30" skirted left facing); toilet; shower fixtures; sink cabinet (36" wide); sink; lighting.
- install tile tub tile surround (three walls with 8x24" ceramic tile), and tile floor (about a 5'x5' space with 6"x36" glazed porcelain tile)
I have already purchased the tub and shower fixtures from emco burnaby.
This is a small bathroom renovation project within a condominium and of many we have orchestrated in various properties which we have owned in the past. Like most projects, we play an active role in acquiring the desired products through our local research of various outlets which has always worked out with great results. So here is a rough outline for the scope of work we are looking to have performed:- size of bathroom floor area: 86" X 64"- scope of demo work: remove and haul away the following - existing bathroom ceramic floor tiling, vanity, toilet, clawfoot tub, all old plumbing fixtures (shut off valves exist)- desired new work: retile bathroom floor with chosen ceramic tiling, tiling of most bathroom wall surfaces with chosen subway tiles (4" X 16"), install an alcove, walk-in shower base (32") and sliding door unit (60"), re-configure new plumbing for a shower system (including faucet and wand set-up) and a wall inset for the storage of shampoo etc (drywalling or pony wall work may be required to fit new walk-in unit), install new chosen dual flush toilet with bidet feature (may require some electrical work from existing socket), install new chosen 24" vanity and plumbing fixtures, install new chosen wall mirror and two towel bar fixtures and finally, painting where required (some wall areas and door).
Project can be done during our summer vacation: Between July 6 to August 15, 2020

Hi there,
I have recently purchased a condo, possession starts in December, work would start after Dec 1. I would like to reno the original bath+kitchen and a small tiled section in the Foyer. Measurements located in the floorplan photo, prefer use of ikea cabinets. Structurally no movement of plumbing/electricity, same footprint.
Bath: demo, replace tub, toilet, vanity+sink+faucets, new exhaust fan, re-tile floors and walls, install medicine cabinet/mirror/simple hardware.
Kitchen: demo, replace/install all cabinets, countertop+backsplash, sink, remove garborator, re-tile floors, install new appliances (microwave/hood fan, fridge, dishwasher, gas stove).
Foyer: remove old tile, install new tile to match tile in bath+kitchen.
Open to countertop/tile supplier suggestions.
I am not sure what the estimated Budget includes, but i assumed all materials/appliances/labour. But i am willing to purchase some fixtures/materials in advance.
Thanks for taking a look!
We are looking for someone to install waterproof drywall in the tub surround. We have a condo in a 30-year old apartment building with the original oversized tub. We would like to do all the prep work so that your job is just to replace the drywall. For example, we plan to remove the tiling/drywall around the tub.
Kitchen Face lift and 2 small bathroom renos. Same layout, new/resurfaced cabinet doors, under cabinet lighting, new counter tops and backsplash, new tile flooring. Bathrooms are small, not changing layout just new flooring, vanity, toilet and tub/shower and lighting.
I am moving into a house with a free standing bath that has a handheld shower head, but I want it to be a normal shower. The problem is that it is against the corner of the wall, which is drywall and not tile, so I will also need a rod and curtain likely..or some sort of stick on tile.
1) is it possible to mount a showerhead onto the drywall or at least have some sort of hooks for the head to slip into?
2) how can we get a shower curtain
3) what is the estimated cost of this job, labour and the parts required?
I'm putting the budget as 100-500 but I realize this might not be a simple fix.
Switch out tub, sink & toilet with minor plumbing required.
Tub surround
Pre-assembled cabinet to be installed.....plus counter top
Tile flooring for bathroom (24 sq ft), plus kitchen (35 sq ft).
Laminate flooring for hallway/living room (325 sq ft)
Install & caulk/paint baseboards (136 lin.ft.)
The house is approx 77 years old and the bathroom is in bad shape. I will be picking standard material whEn it comes to bath tub, sink and vanity. I don't have any idea on tiles. I have no idea abouT the square footage buT it's not a large bathroom. I have a very limited budget and would be looking for some advise as to cut costs.
Thanks
Lorie
Our basement shower is a home-designed walk-in from about 40 years ago. It's 31 inches wide, 46 inches long. We have stripped the walls back to the studs because there was a leak in the 25-year-old tile job. The concrete pad at the base is in good shape. We need the appropriate backer board installed and the walls and floor tiled.
Install new vanity and sinks. Install tile backsplash. Install mirror(s). Install new cupboard over toilet. Potentially fix floor tiling under new vanity if needed by footprint. Potentially move furnace vent if needed. Potentially add electrical outlet if needed. Potentially paint walls if needed.
My downstairs bathroom has a ceiling fan controlled by a simple switch. I want a new, ultra-quiet and high-power fan installed and wired to a multi-option timer switch, AND in parallel to a humidistat.
The humidistat would probably be on the outside wall (a new hole).
There's already a 4" vent, but to replace the fan probably requires cutting the (drywall) ceiling.
I'd like you to do the whole job, ie patch up/replace the ceiling and anything else.
Challenge: I'd like this work done asap.
Please describe how similar a project you've done before. I'll also appreciate a reference for something at least vaguely similar.
