I am looking for help renovating a two-bedroom apartment in Mt. Pleasant. I am looking to start in July.
(1) I want to fully renovate two small bathrooms (~7'6'' x 5' each) with new tiles, fixtures etc.
(2) I am renovating a small kitchen as well. It is 7'10 x 7'6''. I need help with laying new vinyl floor and installing backsplash tiles. I am getting new appliances and new cabinets.
(3) I potentially also would need to clean out and repaint one 5' x 4'7'' walk-in closet and one regular size closet.

We just moved into our 1 bed 1 bath. The bathroom is very small with a dated bathtub, toilet and vanity and I would like to put in a shower instead, as well as more efficient storage space.
Kitchen is 11x8, also dated. Looking to take down a wall to open it up to the dining room and put in an island as well as new flooring, refacing upper cabinets, new pull-out drawer lower cabinets and new counter top.
Looking to get ideas for upgrades and renovations as well as estimated costs.
Thanks!
Hi
I need to know ASAP becasue I am going away Friday night!! This job is to be done in two weeks time when i get back. But will be checking my email. I will need a rough estimate. With out a visit to my home. I understand it might be hard. I would like to please see some number in the email you send me.
KITCHEN -remove 30 LFT of upper and lower cabinets, remove island 3'x5' and dispose, Also prep same area for new cabinets
Remove 4' of bulk head and then reboard, refinish, primer and paint.
FLOORING- Remove 576 sqft of tile, plywood, vinly or ninoliam and dispose
Install 576 sqft of subfloor, tile with grout and sealer, Also base board 60 sqft with calking and paint
How much to install a kitchen 30LFT of upper and lower cabinets?
BATHROOM- heated floor does not work, tiles are breaking also grout, remove tiles 70sqft, remove heating mat (electrical)
Install about 70sft of new heated mat (electrical) and tiles with grout and sealer.
CEILING option -1)remove ceiling 18' x16' and dispose. Install 6-8 pock lights then board it, finish, primer and paint.
CEILING option -2)I had marked the puck light position on the raw dry wall along comes the painter and paints over light marks.
Now I have one light in the middle of the ceiling. Can you go up in the attic to find the existing prewire for the puck lights, If so can you install the puck lights. Also the tape on the ceiling was not done right because they are all cracking. How much would this be to re tape, mud, primer piece that is raw and paint. Ceiling is 18' x 16'
All the material will be provided. I would like pricing for all the items.
We currently own our home in East Vancouver. It is 18 years old and good condition.
Kitchen
This is our main kitchen and it is frequently used (we are not the take-out family). We are interested in quartz countertops and new, custom cabinets. The space is approx. 200 sq.ft. The kitchen is the same age as the house and we bought it new. We have ceramic flooring that is still in excellent condition and we don't plan to change it. We will be changing the appliances including the hood fan and sink. We are interested in convenience accessing in the cabinest (drawers, lazy Susan's, etc.) as opposed to plain cabinets.
Bathroom #1
We would like to replace vanity, toilet and repaint walls and baseboards. The tub, tiles and flooring (ceramic tiles) will remain. 35-45 sq ft.
Bathroom #2
We would like to replace vanity and toilet. We would like to convert the tub and tiles to a tiled or molded shower stall. And repaint. Flooring will remain the same. 35-45 sq ft.
We are happy to begin the process in the first quarter 2018.
1/New cupboard doors are needed (approx 18) in galley style condo kitchen (hinges on current doors are breaking and not replaceable!) New counter tops & new floor (tiles) also needed. The walls have wallpaper placed directly on drywall and that has to go and I'd like it all painted.
2/I also need a new tile floor in bathroom & tiles in shower replaced.
3/Most of the condo interior needs to be painted (approx 600 sq ft).
Minimal structural work - job is gutting existing bathroom, replacing fixtures, tiling, etc. One wall needs to be changed to expand walk in closet. Good finishing skills needed as some finishing required in master bedroom as well as bathroom. All existing electricals and plumbing will be used. House is 17 years old, no previous renovations to bathroom. Quality finishing is needed.

My bathroom is 10' x 10' and I am looking for a complete remodel, so everything taken out and replaced with new stuff, including all tiling, but same layout. See attached pictures of original bathroom and CAD idea of what I plan. I have already chosen all fixtures and tiles, so I don't need so much design work. Just the renovation work. Plumbing is mostly exactly where it already is. Electrical needs are not complicated. I want underfloor heating, heated towel rack and vanity lights moved. All existing supply and circuits can be used for that. Please email with any questions and ideally, a ball park cost picture, not including any fixtures. I would be happy to speak further once I have an email. Thank you.
Hi I live in Vancouver, BC, Canada and need a rough estimate as soon as possible (by tomorrow morning) for renovating the shower & bath areas in 3 bathrooms. I need an online estimate only. I will later get more accurate on-site estimates.
1) Strip 1 standard size shower enclosure down to the studs and rebuild the shower walls with proper water-resistant backer board, then retile the shower walls.
2) Strip 2 standard size bathtub enclosures down to the studs and rebuild the bathtub enclosure walls with proper water-resistant backer board (like cement board), then retile these walls.
We would like to add a bathroom to the main floor of the home. It’s directly under the upstairs bathroom. It is for rental purposes only. The home will be torn down for a rebuild in the next few years. So we want it as cheap as possible, as long as it functions. We don't care about the looks or material that much. We do care about the workmanship quality, we definitely don't want to fix it after a few months. We also don't care about where exactly it is, it can be as close as the pipes as much as possible to save cost.
- Shower
- Toilet
- Vanity
See attached images for the room we want to add a bathroom.
I have a basic condo type bathroom with a tub/tiles that need replacing. The tub is surrounded on three sides by tiles that go up to the ceiling. It is about 25 years old. I looking to find out how much it would cost to have a new tub and tiles installed and how long such a job typically takes. There was new piping put in a couple of years ago, and I assume there would be no other issues.
Hello,
We need to update the toilets, dividers and possibly the floor in our men's and women's washrooms at the office.
Women's has 3 toilets - 1 accessible and 2 regular. Men's has 1 accessible, 1 urinal, 1 regular stall. Each bathroom is about 14' x 12'. We don't need anything too fancy. More about updated and good quality. Possibly as energy efficient as possible without breaking the bank would be great. It has to be complete by August 31, 2019. Look forward to hearing from you. Thanks,Connie
Hi There,
My Husband and I have just learnt that our offer on a condo in the west end, Vancouver B.C has just been accepted. This is a 33yr old building which I believe with great bones. It is a 2 bed + 1 bath (3 peice). The issue is that we would like to add a powder room out of the original bathroom as the bathroom has good length to it.
Well I am not sure about the sq.ft of the bathroom.
New flooring needed in two bathrooms of 2 bedroom 800 sqf appartment as well as new sink in Kitchen. Currently the flooring is linoleum, would like to have it changed to tile, toilet will have to be removed to do work properly.
Important that all strata rules are followed and any mess made in common areas is cleaned up following work done.
Looking for an estimate to redo some badly done tile in a large walk-in shower. Small 1-inch tile, subfloor has become 'soft', and floor is heaving a bit around edges causing issues with the glass door closing.
Available to do walk through weekdays after 2pm (preferrably after 5pm) and on weekends.
We have just bought a one-bedroom condo in a 1978 building, and would like to do minor refreshments including:
- Install single-sheet plastics on the walls/tiles around the bathtub
- Change the bathtub taps (currently two taps: one for hot water, one for cold water)
- The sink tub is slow to drain - need to be cleaned up
- Re-mount the toilet with a new seal and firmly secure.
- Redo the sealing of the back splash to the counter (in the kitchen)
Eventually we would also like to install slider panels / doors in the bedroom (clothes place has no doors)
Would be great to have an estimate with and without the doors.
Our budget would be $ 500 to $ 2000.
Many thanks
Eric and Olivia
The previous resident slapped silicone around the edges of the bathtub in a messy fashion.
I removed most of it but some of the original grout came out at the same time.
I would like someone to remove the remaining silicone and also the original grout where necessary. And then re-grout the bathtub.
-tub out, shower in, with swing glass door, new tiles, etc
-new vanity, toilet, fan, paint, floor tiles
-install towel warmer with swivel arms on wall (preferably with timer)
-new bathroom door put in to swing out (or maybe sliding?)
We'll pretty much buy all items, (or if you can recommed better or get a better deal), we just need them professionally put in...And make it look spectacular when finished and we don't want to have to worry about leaks, something not centered, etc, etc,...Sounds easy peasy, right? ;)
We are the owners of the house and we are located in east/south vancouver.
If you respond, thank you!!
Jenn
