We have an older home (1950's+/-) home with some lathe and plaster and some drywall in need of upgrade to meet minimum modern safety requirements. Mostly checking wiring, adding one more outlet in the living room, replacing 2 elderly probably no longer made fluorescent rods in the kitchen. Also wiring replacement flood light over back door. House located to the East behind Catholic School on Renfrew.
We require someone to install an exhaust fan in our downstairs bathroom. The bathroom has a wall to the outside, and we would need to vent to the exterior. The wiring would obviously need to be run to the fan, and could probably go up beside the existing door frame which has a light switch. Please let me know if you have any questions about the work required.
Vancouver townhouse. Need to install ceiling fixtures (currently no electrical in place). Work required on four rooms:
1: Living room: Install electrical, fixtures, and complete finishing (drywall patching and paint) for 10 pot lights
2: In 3 bedrooms: Install electrical and and complete finishing (drywall patching and paint) for a ceiling fixture in each room
There is are light switched in each room but they currently connect to a wall outlet.
Installation of up to five bathroom fans in three units in two houses in one strata.
I would like to upgrade the exhaust fan in the downstairs bathroom (3086 Yew, Vancouver). It currently has a fan, but I'd like a higher efficiency one and preferably controlled by humidistat. I'm also interested in putting in a new fan in the upstairs bathroom. I think it would need to go through the ceiling into the attic, and out the side/roof. If you're a specialist in venting, I'd like some advice on the adjacent kitchen fan too.
My house is a duplex. My stratamate/ neighbour Judy would like to upgrade the upper bathroom fan. She may also be interested in putting a fan into the downstairs bathroom, but it would need an inspection to figure out how.
My duplex is part of a two-duplex strata. Alicia and Glen in the other building are interested in putting in a bathroom fan. If we can get something of a good deal for the multiple-fans job, they'll want to go ahead with one too.
We have two ceiling lights in a hallway that we would like to replace with two bright recessed lights. We also need to replace 4 electric baseboard heaters that we will buy in advance.
Also have several other smaller electrical jobs (installing 2x dimmer switches, installing new ceiling light fixtures and replacing 2 light switches) but these are less pressing.
My landlord asked me to check with some contractors about installing a 240 v plug in our house, so we can install our washer dryer. I'm not sure about much regarding what we have already and what we need; it's an old house (probably late 40s, maybe 60s?), and he just wants to know how extensive it would be to install a 240 volt plug in our basement. I'm not sure if you need pictures or a location or something.
Thank you!
I have a three storey home. I have made a request to BC hydro for a new meter and install a new electrical panel. Properly 200 amp plus. The existing panel is in the basement. My plan is to install the new electric panel on the main level directly above the existing panel (in the basement). So the wiring for main and upper floor can be directly pulled from the existing panel in the basement. I will tear down the dry wall, no need to add the cost of drywall removal and reinstall in your estimate. Each floor is about 900 sq. ft. if you need to estimate cost of running new wire. Attached pictures show the location of the existing panel (located front left corner of the house if you are facing the house) and where I want the new panel to be.
New 220 outlets need to be install for mini tankless water heaters.
Basement: 1 in bathroom
Main floor: 1 in bathroom
Upper floor: 1 in bathroom + 1 in kitchen
What is the total cost for the new electric panel (brand & model detail please) + labor cost + additional materials + permit fee?
We are owner residents in a downtown Vancouver condo looking to update our kitchen lighting. Currently we have a dated "sunshine ceiling" containing two banks of twin 48" flourescent tubes. We would like to replace the flourescent lights with more efficient LED lighting. Our initial thoughts are to replace the plastic panels with drywall (or other material as appropriate) and install several flush mount DALS LED fixtures. However, we are open to discussing alternate proposals to modernize the lighting. We need someone who can handle the "carpentry" and electrical side of removing the existing fixtures, reworking the sunshine ceiling box and installing the new LED fixtures. Finishing to paint ready state. Let us know if you are capable of performing the work and interested in this project.

Hello,
I would like to make a few updates to the electrical at my townhouse including:
- moving a thermostat (I can do the drywall)
- adding one new outlet
- installing several dimmer switches
- re-wiring an outlet (it currently works with a light switch but I would like it to function simply as an outlet)
Building constructed in the 80s. The electrical box is new and has additional capacity.
Preferably I would like work completed this Saturday, June 25th.
Thanks,
Lance

Unit: Trane Water Source Heat Pump WSHP-IOM-2
Nest: Nest Learning Thermostat
I am the property owner, prefer a certified electrician who is experienced in installing the Nest.

I'm looking to replace a traditional door in my apartment that leads into the den, with a pocket door to save space.
There's a light switch where the pocket would need to be cut, so that switch will need to be moved down a little further to compensate for the space needed for the door.
I found pocket door frames at Home Depot for less then $100, not sure what options I have for the actual door that slides.
Complete quote would be appreciated.
I have just removed a wall in my kitchen and I need the power outlets for the stove and the fridge to an adjacent wall. There is a conduit out of the ceiling that has to be reconfigured. I also need some potlights wired and installed into a drop ceiling in that location. Please contact me if you're interested in quoting on this job. I work shifts and have availability after 6:30 in the evening and on saturday and sunday. The location is on great northern way.
I want to remove the popcorn ceiling and make it flat, and add pot lighting to my living room (approx. 20' x 16') and one flight of stairs with a landing (approx. 4' x 6').
I suspect the ceiling drywall will just need to be removed and replaced. There is a switched outlet for lamps, which I assume can be used for the pot lights but the ceiling joist run perpendicular to how the electrical cables would have to be pulled. I used LED pot lights in the adjoining kitchen, and for consistency would like to use the same.
Timeline is really short, ie preference to doing this on Friday or Saturday. However, later is fine but either way I would like experience / references for very similar (fan) work.
I have the fan, a Nutone fan with built-in humidistat. It can be wired with dual control, so I think we can hardwire on the power for the humidistat control and connect the secondary control to a new switch where the current on/off switch. The new switch would allow preset timing, e.g. so the fan could be set to stay on for an hour.
We the home owner would like to replace our existing breaker panel and move the breaker panel into the garage from the tenant’s bedroom. The panel is staying on the same side of the wall, the placement of the new panel will be closer to the telephone pole.
Please provide a detail quote of the job being completed. You must be a certified licence electrician and be able to provide references.
The current bathroom ventilation fan is not working, needs to be replaced by the better quiet and efficient new one to reduce the heavy moisture inside the bathroom and outside the area,
Address is near the Nanaimo Skytrain Station, Vancouver. Very much appreciated if someone can come to provide help!
