Project Details:
- Condo: 597 sq/f. + 80ft Solarium.
- Ground floor.
- Built: 1979.
- Concrete building.
- Currently, ceramic tiles are installed over linoleum except in bedroom.
- The floor in the living room is uneven due to settling on the building (no cracks, structurally sound).
What needs to be done?
- Level the floor where required with the levelling compound.
- Install Laminate flooring everywhere EXCEPT in the bathroom and solarium. You don't have to install laminate below appliances as this place is not visible.
- Install wide flat baseboards.
The unit bedroom is located over a parking garage, so the new subfloor needs insulation.
Then the existing laminate flooring needs to be replaced. This area has been remediated from water ingress.
I would like pre-quote inspections on Thur.,
Aug. 6th or Fri., Aug. 7th; between 10AM-4PM.

kitchen flooring - 8 s.f. to replace engineered hardwood flooring.
- Approximately 650sq ft. total coverage.
- I would like to have my hallway, living room, kitchen and bedroom fitted with laminate.
- The floor is currently covered by carpet.
- The apartment is about 50 years old and has settled so there will probably be some sort of floor leveler needed.
- I am going to sell the house so i'm not interested in the highest quality laminate, just something that is durable enough to last 20-25 years.
Will you offer me a quote?
Ali
Below is a link to the floor plan of myclick here looking to have the laminate flooring replaced in the unit approximately 300 sq. ft. and new baseboard installed throughout. Currently the Kitchen, Entry, Entry Closet and Bathroom are tiled and the Living/Dining, Bedroom and Bedroom Closet are laminate. The tiled area will remain untouched other than baseboards.
I would like an estimate for just the installation of the laminate, underlay and baseboards.
I will provide the following materials:
- Laminate from King of Floors: 12.2mm - Wide Plank - Brushed Beech (L-12-82014-162)
- Underlay from King of Floors
- 1/2" x 4 1/2" Primed Baseboards
Existing baseboard, underlay and laminate will be already be removed from suite along with furniture and interior doors prior to the start of the job
Please provide an estimate for the job, along with a projected amount of time to complete, I can pay cash if preferred.
Thanks!
I am looking for a quote for an installation of laminate flooring in the condo.
We already have the flooring & underlay selected. It works out to be:
- Flooring $1.89/sqft
- Underlay 60c/sqft
We have about 950 sqft that we need to cover.
Also, the apartment is currently under a renovation work in demolition stage. Some areas (~250 sqft) used to have tiles on the floor, so these areas still need to be prepared for laminate.
Looking to level approx 700 sq hardwood on main floor. Would like to remove existing floor (I think we would try to do this to salvage the wood) and then have someone come in to level the sub floor - there is a corner of the house that dips about 2 and a 1/2 inches. Hopefully then we would use that wood to install over top. Wondering what the cost would be broken down by levelling and then installing hardwood. Thanks!
Steph

Need new flooring for the current old carpet. Room size about 12’ by 20’. Condo, elevator available. In Vancouver. Looking for the lowest cost options. If possible, please provide one quote for new carpeting and second quote for laminate/vinyl/else, whatever is cheaper. Please quote the full cost including deliveries and disposal fees. thanks!
I recently purchased an apartment in a Vancouver downtown strata. The building is about 10 years old. The carpets are currently torn and cut. I would like to put in new laminate floors, for the bedroom and living room, which opens into each other, with no doors. The size of the apartment is approx. 490 sq foot. For the kitchen and bathroom, I would like to run tiles, for easy cleanups. The kitchen, right now, is of laminate flooring.
located at Boundary & Kingsway, upstairs is covered with Oak Hardwood flooring about 800 sq ft, except the kitchen & bathroom.
I would like to have all damaged repair, please quote the following:
1) Sliding door entrance area from the front balcony.
They put towel and that is the dog's sleeping area, it is moldy black
2) Near the sliding door there is a fire place, there are scratches next to the fire place flooring and moldy black at the footing of their TV shelving, I am not sure if that mold caused by dog pee.
3) Not far from the fire place there are 2 areas moldy black, which is end of their sofa area
4) The other far end of the sliding door entrance, there is an area with scratches because another sofa footing has no felt protection, and next to the scratches there is black moldy spot about 6€ in diameter.
5) There are other scratches area in the living room.
Hi,
We are looking for someone to install vinyl plank flooring into our entire 655sq foot apartment on top of the existing tile and wood floors. We would need it to be completed between April 1st and April 9th. We are currently interested installing a 4mm Traffic Master Vinyl Plank. Please let us know a rough estimate of how much it would cost to install.
Help! I have two rooms that need the existing engineered hardwood flooring removed and new engineered hardwood (which I have) laid. The first room is 10 ft by 13ft. The second room is 10ft. by 9ft. The transitions will be needed for moving into tile floor in both rooms and the wooden moulding will need to be replaced please. Would you be able to give me some idea as to cost for removal and installation?
Thank you.

Hi
It's the 2nd half of my insurance claim for repair and/or replacement of my neighbor's flooring directly below me and my own flooring. Her place was 1st and is all bought and paid for but my place is yet to be done and I need a free reasonable quote to be submitted to the Co-op where I live and to the insurer and the sooner the better. I'm lousy with measurements but my unit is supposed to be just under 600 sq. ft. and the laminate does not cover the bathroom or kitchen so it's not exactly a huge job. I don't know what kind of laminate I've got but being a Govt. subsidized housing co-op I imagine it's pretty cut rate stuff.
It's a 14 year old concrete building with leaks of one kind or another everywhere. In my case the damn toilet leaked from under the throne and Co-op policy demands replacement of at least some of the flooring due to health concerns at a later date.
I have a bedroom (approx 10' x 9'), a walk-in closet (approx 5' x 5') and a flex room (approx 4'3" x 8'3") in my condo that is currently carpeted. I would like to install engineered hard wood (not laminate) and am looking for a quote for materials as well as the labor. The flooring needs to match the existing living room engineered hardwood.
Thanks!
I live in a condo at King George Stn. I'm looking to replace carpet in 1-bedroom (112sqft) which follows-thru to a regular-sized sliding-door closet, replace that carpet with laminate floorboards that match the existing color/style that is currently used in the living room. Looking for a quote which includes sourcing/purchasing the flooring, applying any underlay (if required), disposal of carpet, reinstalling the baseboard if it must be removed (and patching/painting if required to cover nails), and replacing the rail for the sliding closet doors (which currently covers/goes over-top the carpet).
I'm looking for someone with experience that can do the job right the first time. Liability insurance required for working in this condo building.
The original contracting company I hired ended up quitting my project after they screwed up the tile flooring. Instead of talking to me about extra costs or taking a loss on the project, they walked away leaving me with a demolished condo.
I need a RELIABLE contractor to:
1) Undo/fix the mistakes original contractors made.
2) Take my renovation to completion.
The original renovation plan was broken into 2 parts. First was a complete kitchen renovation. Second was updating the flooring and ceiling throughout the remainder of the condo (except for the bathroom).
A short summary of the renovation from this point on:
-removal of remaining flooring.
-removal of incorrect underlay.
-installation of correct tile underlay (Flexilastic 2000SC or equivalent)
-installation of tile flooring.
-installation of baseboards.
-replacing stipple ceiling with flat ceiling.
-ordering and installation of entire kitchen. This includes:
-new cabinets/cupboards throughout.
-new counter top
-new sink/faucet
-installation of new and existing appliances.
-installation of back splash throughout.
-installation of a custom hanging shelf.
I already have city permits and professional blueprints. The blueprints are attached. They should be a good starting place, but are not my final vision. We can discuss changes I have in mind during an initial site visit. I'll need to clear up the details in the scope of work fairly quickly, and get this project moving again.
Any hopeful contractors will need to be able to start work within the month of May. I am available for initial site visits in the morning, around lunch, and after work.
Kitchen - floor tile and backsplash installation (floors - 100 sqft; walls - 40 sqft)
Bathrooms - floor to ceiling tiles (floors - 115 sqft; walls - 100 sqft)
Bedroom + Living room - laminate (575 sqft)
Square footage is approximate. The work is in a 2nd floor condo unit. I will provide the tiles and laminate - all other materials to be provided by the contractor. Please provide cost and time estimates, as well as start date availability.
