I would like to repaint my 2bdrm condo in downtown vancouver and fix some of the mouldings that were not done properly by my previous painter. It was like throwing money away. He also tried to do a whitish pickling finish on my front door which looks terrible.
I also plan to upgrade my kitchen and 2 bathrooms and replace the tile in my entrance and sunroom/dining area later. I am looking for a company that is WCB certified and licensed. I can email photos to interested and qualified companies.

1000 sf condo in a mid-70's concrete building. It is empty, we're just buying it. We're looking to design an open, casual, industrial/loft type of space. We're not interested in high-end bling. We prefer a practical, liveable space.
The location is in the West End of Vancouver. The suite is on the 9th floor.
Hi there,
I would like to convert my studio into a one bedroom by framing two walls that form a corner and enclose the bedroom area. At the newly formed corner, I would like two sliding/pocket doors that meet when shut. This will be the entrance to the bedroom.
Thanks for looking... Patrick
Hello
The house is located in Burnaby. Trying to get a rough estimate on how much it would cost to knock down and build up a new house that we are currently living in.
Looking to build up a house around 3 stories including basement around 2400 sqft.and a two car garage. Not looking for fancy material, maybe a granite counter top, some tile back splash, would like to push for hardwood flooring. 3 bedrooms 2.5 bathrooms for the main and upper floor. 2 bedroom with 2 bathrooms in the basement. currently do not have any prints drawn up.
Looking at roughly how much it cost.
Cheers
I am seeking an experienced contractor to expand my existing crawl space in my 23 years old home into a legal two bedroom suite allowable by the City of Vancouver. However, the footprint coverage is over by 25 sf, so it needs to go to Board of Variance for approval prior to permit application with plans to be drawn for submitting to City of Vancouver. Also, the foundation may needs to be underpinned to accommodate the conversion. Only written quotation with references and WCB coverage operation will be considered.

We have a ground level deck connecting the kitchen on one corner and living room on another: it has supports for a roof and we hope to enclose it with big windows and patio door, replace an existing twin set of patio doors to the living room with a telescoping sliding glass patio door, and levelling the floor to meet the kitchen and living room, and to retile the kitchen and new family room with a new heated tile floor.
Could you come by to review and give an estimate?
Thanks
House is 68 years old in Vancouver with a main floor and a full basement. There is no second floor. Size is about 1,000 sq ft for the mail and similar for the basement. Heating is forced air. Electrical updated 4 years ago. 3 bedrooms and a bathroom on main. Basement is partially finished with two rec rooms, a bedroom, a bathroom, a unfinished laundry area with a basement exterior door.
Layout is fairly standard. The front entrance is in the middle of the house, hall way slightly to the right of the entrance leading straight to a bathroom at the back of house. 3 rooms to the right of hallway. Living, dinning and kitchen to the left of hallway.
We want to add a forth room to the main flr. Would knocking down the back wall and extending into the backyard be the most economical way of accomplishing this? If so, we could extend the hallway and move the existing bathroom further back and add a forth bedroom behind the 3rd bedroom which is currently in the back of the house.
The kitchen could also be enlarged if the whole back wall is taken down and moved back, right? We want to update the kitchen too if there is funds left.
Can a second bathroom be added some where?
We can leave the basement as is without extending it if this will save money.
Alternatively, we add a second floor instead of moving the back wall towards the backyard, but I think it will cost more.
To recap:
1. extending the back of house to add a bedroom to the right of the hallway
2. moving the bathroom back to allow for a longer hallway
3. updating the bathroom
4. adding a second bathroom somewhere
5. enlarging the kitchen and updating it.
6. no changes to the living, dinning and bedroom 1 and 2.
7. no addition to the basement but may rennovate it if funds allow.
Thanks!
Anthony
Lifted our house, constructed gable and shed dormers. New walls have HardiePlank or exposed rain screeen. Rest of exterior is mix of old stucco and wood. Would like the exterior to be completely done (rain screen, siding, trim, fascia, soffit), including our garage. We have our own ideas on how to finish (remove all stucco, continue with hardie plank, keep some of the wood siding up top to save cost, etc.), but open to reccomendations. Our renovation is under permit, last remaining barrier to closing the permit is siding, so passing final inspection is required.

Hello, our washer/dryer had problems and leaked causing a partial flood in our place. Our place is 606sq ft but the kitchen and bath are tile, approx 450sq ft is laminate floor. The laminate floor, baseboards and mouldings would need to be removed. The floor would need to be replaced. The mouldings and baseboards would be ok to put back if removed properly. Water has got under the flloor and it is lifting. Some drywall may also need to be cut off at the bottom if water damaged, or it may be able to dry. If there is any mold that would need to be addressed also.
I would appreciate an online quote first.
