We have purchased a house in Fernwood which has been raised to allow for a legal basement suite. The suite has been framed in but everything else needs to be done (drywalling, plumbing, floors, kitchen, bathroom, etc.). Draintile also needs to be installed. We have to have the work finished by September 2015 for mortgage purposes. It is approximately a 700 square foot suite (1 bedroom, 1 bathroom).
Looking to add stamped concrete and add a set of concrete stairs for a basement entrance and plumbing for new kitchen and bath.
See picture below.
Owner will remove propane tank and move heat pump that are currently at the location of the entrance.
Require someone that can do permitting as well.
This is a townhouse that was built in 1976.There are some finished walls. The area needs to be soundproofed from the upper floor. We are expanding our family and want to move downstairs. Finshed bedroom with an attached master bath. We would like to include a jacuzzi tub in the cheaper range. We are not looking for a better house and gardens look. Quality work, cheap but functional finish.
There is plumbing in the basement but not in the area where the bathroom would be. The ceiling is not finished and can be accessed.
We ahve a suite in our basement that we want to renovate as a home for our disabled son. Will basically require a major rebuild of bedroom, kitchen, bath, and closet etc. This will require contractor seeing the home and developing a plan/proposal for selection. Planning to start work in the fall.
Thinking of converting old unfinished 7ft height basement into a 1 bdr suite. Has plumbing for 2pc bath. 100 amp panel. Approx 800 square feet of space. Worth jack hammering concrete floor to add height? Pleasant established neighborhood, close to transit, and only 15 minute drive to downtown. Rent 1 bdr for $700 to $800 per month.
